Yea definitely upgraded after this video still working on getting more gear it’s a process but I’m getting there 😎 thank you 🙏 and thanks for watching I appreciate you
Those were “banjo rays” or also called thornbacks. They don’t have a poisonous stinger. It’s the round ray and the bat rays that you need to worry about. A little homework in fish ID will keep you from having a very bad day. If you can’t get the hook out quickly you’re better off just cutting the line back as far as possible and send them back over in min time needed.
When they swallow the hook and can't get it out it's better to cut the line eventually the hook would rust off. you hurt the fish more by putting the pliers deep in his mouth pulling on the hook. Trying to get it out
Thank you for the advice brother I will definitely keep it in mind next time I definitely do it want to harm them and want more people to get to enjoy their beauty
Trout Season down here in SoCal starts in Nov and usually ends March/April because they stop stocking the lakes around here. Regular trout season does start in April and that's the best time but for us in the hotter temps we have to go to the mountains and usually up north for the really good trout fishing. :)
Thanks brother I’m a novice to be honest I appreciate the feedback back I will most definitely take your advice I’m learning as I go. And yea they are not stocking the lakes out in Oc
@@HeavyDutyKingsOutdoor No problem friend, you want to be able to let the fish take the line but at same time you want some drag & resistance to tire them out. If you don’t give them drag they will snap your line. You will be sick if it’s a big keeper fish too.
@@littlerascals6529 yea most definitely will keep that in mind I definitely don’t want to lose a keeper thank you 🙏 hopefully you can keep watching and if you want give advice so I can learn as I go 🙏🙏🙏
Those are baby rays ur gear made them feel like monsters. Nice catch tho 👍👍

Yea I need to go out to the ie lakes I have that planned for sure just linking up with more fisherman that can give me advice as I go along
If you can't see the hook then don't become a surgeon, just cut the line so it can't go on in life .
Thank you for the advice I definitely started to do that so that the fish can live on don’t want to harm them
Those are not stingrays they are skates.
Also loosen up your drag or else you risk snapping line.
I appreciate your advice brother I will definitely take your advice I’m learning as I go so I appreciate you greatly 🙏
