Thank you so much for this video. I have been searching for such an idea for my newly built garden raised beds, and this video has given me great ideas to start filling them with much confidence. Thanks again.
I just love the this! The harvesting, beauty, and sentimental value is priceless! I also love how it was a family project (husband, daughter, and mother-in-law)! Thanks for sharing, Jill! I’ve been listening to your podcast, and I just found and subscribed to your channel today! ♥️
For the lavender, it needs a space of its own. Maybe add a little bit of sand in the soil as well and you should be able to grow it well as long as nothing pushes it out.
You are absolutely right! It was labeled as "stevia" when I bought it, but when I went to harvest I realized that's not what I had. I had already made the video by then. :)
I'm curious about your wood selection. I've avoided any treated wood. Cedar hasn't proved much better than untreated pine, especially considering the price. I'm rebuilding some rows now with untreated fir 2x4s, using galvanized tin lining the inside to hopefully extend the life of the wood. Nice work on all of your videos!
I have always used treated wood, but before I built this bed I researched again. I price compared treated vs cedar, and I looked to see if I could find any research on harmful effects of modern treated wood. I found nothing but speculation, and for me the price wasn't worth it. I garden organically in every other manner, so this is one compromise I'm okay with. It means I can grow more because I can build more beds for the same price. It's definitely a personal decision and I wish I could go untreated! Your system sounds like a good method! Beautiful way to honor your Mom ❤️
I just subscribed to your channel and I love this episode. Whenever I work in our garden I remember my grandparents with their huge garden.

Thank you, Jennifer!
Thank you for the education. I need to incorporate flowers into my vegetable garden but didn't know where to start. Love your videos.
Beautiful. They exact kind of video I was looking for, for an herb garden. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden 🪴
So beautiful, functional and Inspirational 💓
Very nice! I might steal your design and build one for my wife!!

Agree. My lavender grows well in my sunniest spot in soil that has a fair amount of gravel in it.
It looks like a photo shoot!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Absolutely stunning garden!!! 😍
I just enjoyed learning about your kitchen garden! This will be a must by next summer for us!
It has been great! But I'm already thinking about how I'll adjust some things! :)
Looks like Salvia to me, not Stevia, but I am not an expert by any means. Absolutely gorgeous raised bed garden. 🥰

Can you ask your husband what software he uses to draft things like this up? Thanks!
He used Sketchup for this, but he has been using Shapr3D for projects recently.
What species of wood did y'all use to build the raised bed?
It's treated pine.
Do you know the real name of your bush cucumbers? Tks
I've grown a few kinds, but the ones in this planter was PickleBush.
Beginner's Garden - Journey with Jill … Tks!
The deeper the bed the higher the water requirements, in Australia with long dry weather this is not the best idea
sounds like medical advice.. looks like medical advice... tastes like *GACK* ..
