I'm a captain on one of those for a living. It's a great plane but it sure isn't very forgiving. Watch out for the bank from base to final, I wouldn't turn under 150 kts without full flaps. Also, keep the power until right before touchdown, otherwise it'll slow down pretty darn fast and you'll get the stick shaker or stall. I'd definitely recommend looking up the QRH and figuring out some speeds and procedures. Blue skies 🤙🏻
This is one that really makes me fancy putting the effort in, modern bizjets just feel a bit stale
You said a mouthful my brother. They don’t call it a Fearjet for nothing.
I agree with captain. Putting sometime to read some of the procedures and speeds will make it more enjoyable aircraft to fly. Also suggest FAA Airplane Flying Handbook Chapter 16 - worth a read. LJ35/45 typed.
In your view how realistic is this thing in terms of flight dynamics?
This is almost one of the best releases this year. The planes Auto Pilot is very similar to the BAE. 146 IN REGARDS to pitch trim. It is more than capable on VATsim etc.
There is no Auto Throttle, but you can do everything else pretty much with the AP. I have flown this a ton since it released and it's been updated twice.
It won't hold your hand but it is amazing. Plenty of tips on their Discord. This is going to be amazing once finished.
Awesome video as always angel.
In 1974, John Denver bought a Learjet to fly himself to concerts..... That Learjet was N31WS
Thanks. Brings back memories. Back when I was a teen and it was OK to hang out at FBOs even when not flying, one of them had a couple of Lear 24s, with their screaming CJ610 turbojets--the TFE731s are so much quieter (and of course much more efficient), making the 35 a much better neighbor. Royal Air Freight still flies them locally (one landed just a couple of hours ago) but very few are left in service. Some are on the market but mostly with vintage avionics. Even a GNS530 would be a huge upgrade but then you also need to be ADS-B-compliant so it starts to add up to get current. Still an amazing airplane capable of ridiculously high initial climb angles/RoC--it's fighter jet heritage (and Bill Lear's vision) are apparent. One of the most strikingly beautiful aircraft ever designed (although as cool/iconic as the tip tanks are, the Longhorns/31 are a touch more elegant, IMO), and the best-looking cockpit windows ever (although it's a tight fit up front--not super roomy in the back either). Yeah--super pitch-sensitive, those... I certainly hope they'll provide a free upgrade to the full version if you get the beta. Too bad MS didn't include a Lear in MSFS--there was a 35 in FSFW95, IIRC, but I can't recall if the 45 was included in FS98 or not until FS9.
I've been waiting for a steam-gauged business jet and this one definitely fits the bill. Very flyable in its current state.
I wouldn't normally jump into a prerelease so readily but they earned a lot of goodwill with how well they handled the 414. I bought that one prerelease and the updates and fixes came very quickly. I'm excited to see how they'll add to an already great product.
Yeah their 414 process deffinately was 'beta done right' from what I saw.
Agreed!
Definitely excited for this one. Their 414 is still in my Top 10 favorites and I can't wait to add this to that list.
Already looking very promising. The C414 is one of those addons where you can tell the developers both know and love what they're doing. That's why the 414, along with the C310 and the Wilga, is on my top 3 list in the sim. 🙂
You're a riot! That's why I keep coming back...lol
I hated this aircraft for the first two hours, took a bit of research to find the correct procedures but the love has blossomed. Fantastic aircraft.
how would you describe the handling?
@@TheVibesProject It all depends on the equipment settings and weather conditions I guess. Only had it for two day’s once I have flown it for a while I could give you a better answer.
The pilot being you is just a focused look that's all. Nice early access review.
No, it actually is me XD
How i've been waiting for a learjet... i feel it's not completely there, but it's indeed good enough for a pre-release. It always was fast on approach with it's small wings. Love the model.
Thanks for a great review! As for the chest size, i have not had the pleasure to compare yet, ( /cheekyness off) so i'll take your word for it, but it is awsome in itself to have yourself as pilot in there, that is very neatly done by the Gotfriends team!!!
great review once again. i have the Cessna 414 and love it, i will also get this Learjet 35
your channel is so nice to see the wide variety of different aircrafts, from bush planes to 737 and now Learjet's, keep up the good work you do Rach.
Oh I can't wait for this one, thanks for giving us a peek at it
Thanks for the early look & flight. Quick answer to your Garmin comment. The "Direct To" button is a hardware button on the bezel. Bottom-right just above the knob. You'd press it when you're looking at the airport info and it opens a pane & soft-button you'd press to activate the Direct To route.
I lived in a 24D and four 25B’s for six and a half years in the seventies. We flew almost everyday and night mostly. Check runs and charter. Rocket is the best description I can say. 6700 lbs. empty with two CJ610-6 and 8 power plant motors. 6000 lbs. of thrust. This is where I really learned to fly.
Fast, fun, but can it burn some fuel compared to this 35. It will also kill you in a heartbeat if you don’t know it well and respect the limitations.
I rarely see any of these out there today, even at Kalitta.
I'm not much of a business jet fan, but I do like having lots of things to click on, so I might get this one. Happy to see you in the Got Friends Avitar Buddies!
That is one sick looking plane! I love the cockpit, very legible, I can't wait until it's available
Its available and quite flyable!
None of the passengers look scared but of course when AvAngel is in the cockpit, they should probably be a little bit concerned. Hehehe...
Did I hear this might be a good plane for doing deliveries for Pablo? 😉
I like that you do not over prepare for your reviews. Gives me a chance to yell at the screen things like "Look over there. The PITOT HEAT switches are right there. are you blind." 😊
I do prepare, but you have to realize I do so many reviews and fly so many aircraft you miss things... Its a first look, its not an in depth review, that isn't the point.
@@AvAngel Wink wink Smile. It is always obvious you do your due diligence. Your being human gives us room to Cheer and Hiss. Thanks for all you do from a huge Fan.
thx 4 the post, i wish the passengers moved around a bit, that would be cool, could you amagine a person looking out the window from the outside lol
I've been flying flight simulator since the very beginning when it was made by sublogic. I recollection is that some of the early versions had the Learjet 35. The last version I had before 2020 was FS 2004 which I believe had the Learjet 45 with glass cockpit. I was getting pretty darn comfortable flying that and hoped that that one would become available for 2020. Of course the 2004 version is much more simplified than these more complex models for 2020. I'd like to see a Learjet 45 with glass cockpit so I can get started again with that.
🏁 🏁 ☑ Happy New Year, Miss AvAngel.
I think this is a classy looking jet. Yay!!! Friday Harbor!!!❤
Been wanting an “aftermarket” private jet. I do enjoy the Cessna Citation Longitude but I’d like some more “advanced”. In its current state, is this a good buy?
Not often lately i've made a day one purchase with no review's out, and I haven't regretted it. This however was a lovely surprise, and given what the team have done with the 414, there's no doubt it'll be exceptional when finished. Interesting note on your stall - I did the same trying to set up for a missed approach at Heathrow. Very like a real life incident that the 'Pilot Debrief' channel covered earlier in the year - worth a watch, my aircraft behaved in stall just like in the tragic real life incident (that was easily avoidable also)!
I know it’s late but anyone getting sound warping when they go from inside to outside view when not in idle :(
I have this very distinct high pitched beep sound when I start up the Lear and can't figure out what it is. Any suggestions?
Oh! Oooh, it's that thing! The business jet with tip-tanks! I see one of those on approach for my local airfield sometimes and always wonder what it is! (And yet i never remembered to look it up.^^)
Considering it's in the middle of rural germany, it's a fancy airfield, actually. Used to see a Piaggio Avanti/Evo, too, until that one crashed off the coast of Mexico.
Anywho, plane looks good! Looks like a nice, slightly more vintage alternative to the ultra-modern Honda Jet! Definitely not going for an early access product, because if i'm buying it, i want my first impressions to be of an actual, finished product, but this one's on the watchlist for sure. :3
Afternoon....How did you turn the steering back on after landing?
button in the center console beisde your seat.
I love the Lear Jet I've flown some great models in other sims such as P3D, this one could be a good one, it certainly appeared to fly well, and the sound set is pretty good as well. The best Lear I've flown is the Xtremeprototypes XP GLJ Model 25 for P3D, that's another level.
To be fair the FSW Lear in p3d beats the XP one, unless you're not interested in systems.... the XP one has better textures though.
Is the external registration dynamic or baked into the texture?
Texture
Looks like a great aircraft. They will need some more retro looking paint schemes. Possibly even the USAF colours as an option too??
I’d love that
As was going to say the same thing! Hopefully there’s texture files, those flashy paints aren’t appealing
The 414 is nice but it's let down by the lack of any failures, wear and tear, dirt accumulation, etc. I'd definitely pay $50 for the same quality plus that stuff.
The 414 does have engine overstress failure, like if you leave your throttles firewalled, but yeah, it doesn't have any black square like systems failures.
Great video as always. Just a note to anyone that cares, this aircraft is not rated for single pilot operation in real life.
A touch pricey for a work in progress, but I did enjoy it in FSX then P3D. I had a mini Lear fleet with Lionheart's 25 and the one from Xtreme plus of course the default 45. I'll keep an eye on it for now🤔
I don't think the pricing is inappropriate. Do you think you should get a discount on the final product for buying it during pre-release? You're going to ultimately get the full release for the same 1-time purchase, so paying full price now seems correct.
@@en0n126 correct, but I'm happier to buy the finished article, simply my choice. I'll keep an eye on it for now and it looks promising
Me gusta mucho que la cabina sea analogica , menos mal
I personally am not interested in this Lear but It defiantly does look good. I would really love to see a bigger Lear tho. Iv always been a fan of the LearJet. Great Video!! Keep them coming.
if this is a private jet life I rather fly commercial, imagine being accosted by Rick (Back) while paying 1000 dollar per hour for flying :D
so your are the next Laura Croft.... (Tomb Raider)
lol not quite!
The texture quality is a bit poor in my opinion. The Cessna 414A Chancellor had absolutely great textures, hopefully they will improve the textures, though, for the early access,it's not that bad.
Thanks for the video!
Nice plane, but it arrives in a saturated market. I hope it does well, their Chancellor is awesome.
Honestly i don't agree, retro bizjets? pretty open market :D
@@AvAngel yes, agree with you. Especially biz jets with steam gauge cockpits are rather seldom. We have half a dozen A320, 3 Spitfires, even rare planes like the Pilatus Porter is available two times so i am convinced this beautyful little "rocket" will have a market for sure.
first the Tomcat now this... i love learjets... my wallet...
Seatbelt on young lady 😂
Looks nice but has a lot of bugs. Will rather wait till it's out of beta
That's the point of early access, its buggy, its a work in progress, but i do quite like getting it early.
I'll find another
FSX? 😝😝
such a herky jerky camera.
Avangel, maybe you can settle an argument for me.
I told my wife about the avatar they created of you and we ended up disagreeing on whether or not you've ever appeared physically in your videos.
Have you ever been in any MSFS videos?
I have never appeared physically in any of my MSFS videos :)
@@AvAngel thanks much!
Love your videos.
Nice work, Av. However, on a different subject entirely, I'm done with eyetracking in MSFS. After I purchased the Trackir5 and wallowed miserably in its tweaking then went also for the Tobi-5 and ended in the same squalid condition, I'm done with them. What's more, the warping of the view when one moves the head is highly unrealistic to me. How I miss the days of steady views while following your commentaries or Capn Canada's or Jeff Favignano's. Now I'm regaled with endless warping whorls and twists of the panel and otehr parts of the aircraft. But no more. Line is drawn. I'll go back to old fashioned mouse turning of my eyeline.
It’s all about VR my friend. Once you virtually sit in that cockpit, you can’t go back
I can’t see what you see…. The video isn’t warping or twisting it’s honestly so natural to view
@@CCitis the problem with VR is the performance hit. I have 7900X3D 6000mhz 128GB ram, 4080 and once you hit the likes of JFK it's a stutter fest.
My friend has a 4090 and 7950X3D same ram and board we both using quest 3 and it's the same for him. It's amazing at most places, but like taking the PMDG 737 into say a big airport it gets super choppy.
Best VR flight so far was the SWS PC12 from KPWM to KSYR at dusk.... Blew me away.
I agree though 100%. Once you enter VR it's so hard to go back to pancake.
I have a way lesser PC than you... and I run it smooth all over the place. You have to optimize settings. Running the Reverb G2. @@delg551
@@CCitis I mean, VR is great, and i use it frequently...... for VR games. MSFS is kinda rubbish with VR.
The performance costs are too high, it doesn't auto-disable the chaperone in SteamVR like most sim-style software, and when you have some faily complex flightsim peripherals, putting on a headset so you can't see them is actually quite inconvenient.
Oh, and the motion controls are as much of a nightmare as one would expect.
If i wanna fly in VR, i go for VTOLVR, wich is actually made for it. For MSFS, imma stick with TrackIR. It's just far more convenient, and i can also have Navigraph on a tablet next to me.
I'm a bit perplexed, though. OP says there's twists and whorls when using headtracking, but..... well, headtracking doesn't do anything at all to the picture, it just moves the camera. Could it be a health-related phenomenon?
Ugly cockpit. Thats to bad.
Realistic tbh
@@AvAngel I just don't like the cartoonish looking cockpits. I want patina, wore paint, chips and weathering.
Lame…
