The only way EVE Online is going to die, is if EVE Frontier is successful. But if it's overly successful, the two games could potentially merge at some future date. No one knows what that would look like, and all the fear mongering about this topic is misplaced, since no one talking about this really knows what they're talking about.
Depends on the company's bank account, if they can sustain the losses and Classic Eve is still profitable enough they would kill Frontier and stick to eve til the next boss decides to undock a venture in hostile nullsek, they might even do what they shouldve done from the very start, get eve frontier, remove all the crypto-related trash and build eve 2. If they crash, their bank account cant handle the losses or just barely manages to and Classic eve is barely making profit for them, it just doesnt make sense to keep going and in that case they would pull the plug on the whole company, and games, or get downsized, if it makes sense for them to keep going at all. And then theres the worse case scenario, they crash hard and they ask their client-base to pay for their losses in order to "save" eve, i sincerely hope this never happens, if they die, they die; asking the people they betrayed (in this hypothetical case) for money is just gross, and ive seen it before, with smaller and less succesful franchises, Companies DO this and its not extremely rare anymore.

the way people are reacting to the big scary blockchain (ie: REacting at all) shows how blindly and eagerly trust the herd-narrative... nothing about this is new except for the buzzwords. between the "real-money" plex market (fiat->isk trading pair) and the killboards api being an immutable public record (literal definition of blockchain) even the CSM and extensive community involvement (decentralization) this should all be more than familiar to even the greenest newb pilots. it could be easily argued that isk is the original cryptocurrency prototype. eve has always been built on the very same foundation as bitcoin itself. as they say, "blood of my blood" and whatnot
What baffles me is there already is a real money element to EVE with PLEX, why muddle the mixture by making it so you could be feasibly cut out of the business deal?

I gave up on Eve long time ago. The aspect that's the worst is that it stimulates gankers armed with ewar modules. No matter what you invested in, you get interdicted, scrammed, jammed and destroyed by a bunch of guys with puny destroyers and ewar frigates. I'm gonna watch on this to see if it actually becomes fun. I would have liked a Dreadnought game with Eve ships and equipment. Hell, even Dreadnought wasn't bad except for the long queuing time.

While Frontier is already DOA, EVE to this day is still going no where. Its the strongest MMO player driven economy game to date, and not only that, new games that are not even 1/4 as old as EVE like Albion Online that also feature a player economy have already declined to the minimum player bases (And are infact dying) There are ZERO space games like EvE and ZERO games with an economy like EVE, I know b/c i avoided playing EVE since its conception and only until 2023 started playing it b/c i played EVERY OTHER GAME both Space MMO's and Economy MMO's and they all failed. Until a "FULLY Released" MMO player driven economy game comes out EVE will wear this crown for many years to come simply b/c there is ZERO competition

Kinda agree. Im using (was using) three monitor and two windows to multiboxing eve. Im a hermit wormholer and enjoying isolation. Evading various ganks, while roaming around multiple WH connections feels kinda nice. One windows for running the site, the other as cloaked "eye" for the wormhole. It would be much more challenging if I run it without an "Eye".
literally allow multi boxing as a feature and even som scripting to help with automation just gotta watch out on the scripting there is a fine line between botting and assistance.

I think we're all looking at this in a black and white way - what we need to notice is that EVE Frontier is a pocket universe, ruled by different rules, based on permanency of the blockchain, I'd wager to say even more hardcore. It's an experiment, and we know that CCP loves to experiment and I highly encourage that in all aspects of life as well. It's not supposed to "drive EVE players to it", it's a fascinating exploration of what a meta universe can become. I am very excited for the launch to see what we all can do. Pushing boundaries is great.

This. I play Eve every day, usually in a fleet of 30-50 people. Not a single one of them has mentioned more than some mild apprehension at the Blockchain side of the game. If you can take a sample size of 50 people from all over Eve and not a single one cares then I wouldn't consider the playerbase to be up in arms, I'd definitely consider it a loud minority.
You dont understand blockchain part of this equation. It is not for cryptocurrency - it is for registering mods for game as intellectual property of mods creator (converted after that into cryptocurrency, yes, but not in a direct way you scare people in this video)

With ethereum you can do things like using it to store data in the ledger like a signature for a legal document, or something more technical like smart contracts that auto execute code using the ethereum network to process the backend. So with eve frontier if im understanding it correctly each token / assembly is the base of structure/ship that can be programmed with modules/services to do various things such as accepting docking request or mine or shoot. Or more basic things such as storing items in a digital vending machine, and exchange the contents for another item. If the ingame item is exchanged, the assets and its owner can be tracked on the blockchain ledger, and later traded out of game to another owner to manage for crypto or USD. Im imagining they are opening avenues for more open air station experiences where you manually pilot around and dock and store items or purchase items if the station owners programmed in the services to do so. Will be interesting to see if people are going to put as much effort into learning CCP's engine as the far and few API nerds have slaved over eve's api for years.
