Tortuga musical festival ended with a BANG! We metal detected the beach for two nights straight and it paid off. We than switched beaches and Amy hit on gold.

Recovery speed : 5-7 (depends how trashy the beach is)
Iron Filter: 4
Stability : 1
Ground Suppressor (GS): 0 (off)
BC (bottle cap rejection): 6
Audio Gain: 1 (anything higher on the beach the machine becomes really chatty)
Tones: Ptones
Tone Volume: Max (10) on all 1-60
Tone Frequency Notches 1-10: 1 (makes the 1-10 iron signals a deep grunt)
Tone Frequency Notches 11-60: 27
Tone Break: Default 1-10 Iron, 11-60 normal tones
Threshold: Default
Threshold Frequency: Default
Sensitivity: will vary but from 23-28 depending on the beach

Nice finds guys. Congrats. I had to see what the David Yurman was. A couple of weekends ago I found a 925 silver chain with a cross that had black diamonds on it during a night hunt at the beach. It turned out to be a David Yurman chain with a Chevron cross pendant. The next day my buddy found a post on Facebook from the owner. I met up with them and they were very excited and grateful to get it back. Got a cash reward, which they insisted I take it. We both left happy. 👍🏻

I just got back into the hobby, left about 5 years ago due to health issues, but just bought myself a new Minelab X-Terra Pro to have a nice new lightweight detector to get back into the hobby with. If my health allows me to stick with the hobby I'll pick me something higher end next season but I've heard good things about the x-terra so should suit me well for now.

I was expecting to see a very packed beach... Where's all the sunshine people??? It's certainly easier for detecting if you don't have to fight a crowd for room to swing your coil.... That weird little hand with two thumbs? I believe it is called "the hand of Fatima."??? some kind of spiritual talisman...
We went after the party ended. You cannot get in as it is a sold out event and you certainly cannot go in with a metal detector.

what is the metal detector you are using
I use a Minlelab Equonix 900 and Amy uses the Nokta Legend.
What version of MineLab are you using?
I use a Equinox 900

Do you try to find owners of precious jewelry?
Not sure how that would be possible if there isnt any distinct markings. But yes i have given back rings that have had markings for sure. I have a video where someone lost a ring, approached me on the beach. I tried to find it that night but was not successful. I ended up finding it two weeks later and shipped it back to him.

It was already dead. Popping them flattens them and dries up the tenticles. This makes sure humans don't get stung. Good luck in your future hunts ✌️.
