The first few weeks were slow going, not many great targets. I have a few theories as to why this is. This week the beaches finally lit up with targets.

Recovery speed : 5-7 (depends how trashy the beach is)

Ground Suppressor (GS): 0 (off)

Audio Gain: 1 (anything higher on the beach the machine becomes really chatty)
Tones: Ptones
Tone Volume: Max (10) on all 1-60
Tone Frequency Notches 1-10: 1 (makes the 1-10 iron signals a deep grunt)
Tone Frequency Notches 11-60: 27
Tone Break: Default 1-10 Iron, 11-60 normal tones
Threshold: Default
Threshold Frequency: Default
Sensitivity: will vary but from 23-28 depending on the beach

Great finds guys. I just did a Friday night hunt at one of my local bay beaches. Very few signals in the water. Got out of the water to hunt the dry sand in the towel line. While heading towards my car, I found a David Yurman silver necklace with a heavy silver Chevron tcross with black diamonds on each end of the cross. Total value, $800+. The only target of the night. Spring Break is on! _/👍

That earring could still be gold. A friend of mine who use to sell jewelry said sometimes gold earrings are hollow and light so they are not pulling on your ears. Could be why you don’t feel the heavier feel to it.

Try testing that earring with a rare earth magnet. Might be a good idea to have one on you while beach combing with your detectors. Silver and Gold won’t stick to them
I was at a local thrift store last year and someone put out two pairs of 18k jewelry, as they looked so gold and didn’t realize they were legit real gold. One was from Turkey and the other pair was also foreign made. I scored that day with those two $3.00 each purchases. Retail with the google lens showed them each at around $300 a pair.
I found 1 of those infinity rings when i first started out. I’ve still not found any wheaties. I’ve not been out in about 2-3 weeks. Weather has been either really cold or rainy here for a long while. The last week was good but i didn’t get out. Going to try and go in the next few days. Weather is starting to seem like spring so folks should be getting out. Day time weather is about 62-67. Nice that y’all found some jewelry 😁 crap ton of coins and shades too. Good to see y’all back out on the treasure grind 👍🏼😁

The oldest coins Ive found( here in canada), were both 1913
metal detecting i found a 1913 canadain large cent
and coin roll hunting i found a 1913 american buffalo nickel, the buffalo nickel was in a collection dump with old king George the fifth nickels
That buffalo nickel is in excellent condition and is a first year, i could probably sell it for $20 and is probably my most valuable circulation coin
The one thing you dont want in an earring is weight. You dont want something heavy that will stretch out your ear.

I really enjoyed watching both of you hunt but the biggest laugh came when you walked out of the Port-a-Potty. 🤣 The spinner ring and the stainless steel ring are beautiful but that gold ring looked like 24K because it was in such good condition. Loved all the sunglasses, too.

To clean coins put them in a small ultrasonic cleaner with Windex window cleaner just water and ammonia! It’s the best eating clean coins and jewelry and buy a gold testing kit! To see what kind of gold you got!

Wish I had a metal detor so I can go to our man made lake and go through the sand and see if I can find stuff it be fun to do since I'm disabled it be go exercising

Gotta chexk those quarters i see a 90% silver one looks like anything 64 and older quarter dimes and half dollars are 90% silver and one quarter is 6 dolars in meltvalue right now also that gold earring was real should lokk at piece that goes in threw your ear thats where markung are on most gold earrungs
Alot of jewelry, I think some people are getting smarter and leaving their gold at home or in the condo. Alot of people are now watching detecting videos. But of course people are going to still lose gold and silver. And I think there is still alot of older gold and silver out there waiting to be found.😊😊
There sure is more out there, its just deeper where we cannot reach it...Until we get a hurricane 😝

re: that golden hoop earring; so the mark is almost always (but not always) on the hinged bar. if the bar is gold then th earring is likely to be either gold, or goldplated silver, though I've been seeing goldfilled brass that is also entirely gold. You might want to check that piece for silver. Or, get a more powerful loupe.
Is the TW on the 10k in an oval cartouche? Then its tessler & weiss. I've found 2 rings by TW, pretty fat honkers, one with diamonds, so they make some nice stuff. Been a few years since the last one.
I hunt the Gold Coast (what we used to call the 3 counties), so maybe run into you some day.
Maybe we shall run into eachother. I have met many MD's out on the beaches.

Unfortunately I don’t think you’ll find any real gold or silver. College students don’t have any money, not high end jewelry money anyways, but I wish you luck. Hey, you never know.
I would always keep it on gold settings and not mess around looking for anything else! You are going to waste time on crap!
