Cool video mate. I own a gsr myself, had it for over 15yrs bought it stock, kept the 1.8 and built it, 3076r, road tuned myself on a ecmLink v3 350+awkw on 98. Legit evo bonnet, carbon roof skin. Such amazing little cars perfect 90's era stuff, people don't even know what these cars are anymore.

It was lighter than the EVO and had shorter diff ratios so was competitive. After some basic modifications like 3 inch exhaust and cool air intake it ran a 13.4 second quarter mile at Meremere dragstrip. I hardly spent much money on the actual modifications but it broke down a lot so fixing it got expensive. Those were fun times and I think about those days all the time. We also did lot's of illegal street racing around the North Island. There weren't as many cops back then but we still had to head out of town to find suitable drag spots. Some of my other mates did the burn out thing but I liked the drag racing and tuning side of it.

Blew the headgasket and waterpump several times before she was stolen :( ...... so much money went into repairs but god damn she was fast with the 3rd gear hauling in everyone's ass. Could hear me coming from ages away :D
These things fukn bang. One of the lads in my tafe class had one on his Ps. Usual upgrades, intercooler, fuel system, ext gate and etc we would go out every lunch and go spastic doing awd hellis in the industrial area haha the GSRs are pocket rockets.
Sadly for evo's Big power is hard on the box, especially GSR models, USDM Evo owners don't seem to understand our boxes are not RS. Basically need to go a Sequential box or Auto for the Early Gen evo, i run a Samsonas 6psd in my Evo 3, Would never go to a Dogbox or back to a Stock 5spd etc, but Auto 3spd is also pretty tempting make it a 9 second car with mere 500whp , Good review :D
