Casual Boxing Fans have no clue how great Duran was as a lightweight. 72-1 before he fought SRL in 80. He literally dismantled every lightweight contender for the entire decade. He was voted fighter of the decade of the 1970’s by Ring Magazine. But I still have to hear these idiots say he wasn’t a great fighter because of No Mas give me a break.

Duran was the greatest lightweight of all time and the greatest pound for pound fighter of the ‘70’s. He also fought the three best pound for pound fighters of the ‘80’s, notching arguably the single best win ever in defeating Leonard. No other former lightweight champ could have lasted 15 with a prime Hagler. Perspective and context is everything. I believe Duran is the greatest fighter in history.

It's such a joy to revisit the fights of this great man. Good compilation. You can see him against bigger guys, guys that are extremely hard for him to knock out with one punch, yet he hurts them over and over again. What a combination of ferocity and skill! I implore all you younger fight fans to check this guy out if you haven't already. There should be lots of stuff here on You Tube.

Greatest LW in the history of boxing. Period. And a damn nasty WW, Jr. MW, and MW!! One of only 2 or 3 guys to take prime Hagler the distance. Duran was leading on the scorecards in the Hagler fight after 11 rounds. Who else can say that? Heres a guy 25lbs and 4 or 5 years past his prime, hanging with, and beating the greatest MW Champion of my 70 year lifetime......

Duran was a born technician, you really can't be taught the kind of moves that he had. And in his case he wasn't taught! I read that he was always so overweight between fights most of his training involved just getting the weight off. Can you imagine if he would have actually spent more time working on technique!? His balance and feel for the ring is amount the best ever. Great chin and solid puncher. He also threw every kind of punch. Amazing
