Refining an 18 Watt TMB circuit Part 1

  • Here's my take on the TMB circuit. This is Part 1 which is the amp in a standard TMB configuration, with some voicing tweaks. This means a standard Marshall 18 watt normal channel, and a plexi-styled tmb channel (2 stages and a cathode follower, not the 3 stage plate driven variation). It has been modified slightly to voice it a bit more aggressive and bright, and to cut some gain down. Modifications include an added voltage divider, bright/treble bypass caps, and tone stack tweaks etc.
    It was built mainly from a Ceriatone kit but with my own component substitutions and some design considerations.
    I show the guts in Part 2 and discuss further modifications, including turning the normal channel into a front end boost. It sounds more like a full-sized plexi after further tweaking so please see the next part. Thanks
