I really enjoyed the Video. I own a P400 Defender , just turned 55,000 amazing miles. Loved watching these two Giants going at it and most of all the Attitude of the Jeep driver. Class Act !
Need more of these owner experience content videos showing the new Defender. Most of the current UA-cam content bashes the new Defender (ie. battery drain issue, can't tow more than 10 mins, etc) so very refreshing to see this content. 👏
Love the defender, I have snow wheeled my wife's lr4 in headlight high fresh snow and it out performed the jeeps. I think it is still better than the new bronco in my opinion!
Yes, it is an absolutely crazy feeling when you’re driving forward on an icy hill and sliding backwards. Once you broke that friction there’s no stopping until you hit a flat spot. Great video
Great video, but suggest it needs to be two completely stock vehicles to be fair. Put the LR on some off road tyres and get to know how to drive the electronics! All terrain progress control, rock crawl in snow (not just a slippery road), try low traction launch if in grass gravel snow setting. Diesel is best too of course. 👍
I suggest next time you use the ATPC in the Defender and let it control where it sends the torque. Also, sounds like you may have been in low range? Which would be incorrect for snow.
I love how you tube manages to make those Subaru trails interesting 4x4 trails… but yeah snow n ice don’t play nice…cold kills camara batteries so the good stuff like airing up the tires didn’t make it to the cut 😜 still better than riding the couch eh?! Thanks for sharing! …wait wait wait, I’ve never roamed that area in winter without at least one vehicle sliding into a ditch and needing help …what’s up with that?
When you put the winch on your jeep, did you have to put a beefier alternator or battery on it? I have a 2015 Jeep JKU Manual and I just put a 12v 9500 IBS winch on her.
My Jeep doesn't have an alternator, it's got a 250 amp DC converter off the mild hybrid system. Winching is extremely hard on electrical systems so you have to take it easy on your pulls. Give the system time to charge back up. Winches under full load can pull over 500 amps.
Clearly the Defender has very good off-road performance but these tires don't help it at all. I would like to see it in action with some real 4x4 tires
@@JustinKingOffroad That's TFL's number one offroad testing place.. I think they filmed a million videos there... I think they created most of those ruts in those hills that you drove through. LOL
Ooof. THAT first minute was a pucker! lol 'Found' myself in that same sitch a couple times. Who agrees that a rig which uses it's brake pads to mimic a locker will many a pad wear thru prematurely over a majority of off road use? There is just no substitute for the mechanical locker. No matter the millennial engineer who thinks otherwise. What is hilarious is the Rubi - with real locks - dispatches obstacles with ease. The LRD looks like a 10month old learning to walk. Amateur stuff from a company who used to make capable (if not reliable) off roaders. Great vid. 👍
Wow, the Land Rover was super impressive climbing that snowy hill without the rear diff locked and on street tires.
Okay, that Defender on street tires did one hell of a good job!
It is quite impressive!!
so what tires was on the Defender??
The Defender did better than I thought it would with street tires.
It really handled things great!
I wanted to see if it was a 4 banger or 6

That thing looks like it has a Angry eye grille 🤣
has a mean stance to it! very nice ride inside too! British luxury.
it actually spins the RR wheel backwards to keep it pointed in the right direction going down the hill at 7:57. That's crazy.

Land Rover enough to define
Damn. I thought I read “I ordered a defender” I was like noooooo
No defender here! Belongs to my brother who was home for Christmas!!
Good traction control off defender
That’s was definitely glad the abs and traction control turned on when it did moments… many moments! Looked fun but ice sucks for snow wheeling.
This vehicle receive more hate than it deserves.. yes tyres could be better but they have really made it to be future tech proof..
Defender best car ever :)
Great video thank you!
Thanks! Fun Wheeling! Cheers
Awesome,,,thank you….using the original Goodyear tires on the Defender? Glad I bought one! Cheers
Looks. Like white tiger in snow
Defender is best

What a fun video you guys did great! What model defender is that? 4 or 6 cylinder? Wondering how the reliability is thanks for sharing!!!
i believe it's the 6 cylinder. exact model honestly i'm not sure. but it's pretty well optioned out.
What tires are you running on the Jeep? The Defender did well. Put a set of Baja Boss ATs on it and it could win.
they are toyo MTRs. not great for snow, but nothing really works on ice lol! i've gone snow bashing with them and it did fine. this ice just got me.

@ 3:35 That looks like the trails that TFL uses in there videos..
good eye, it is! we did that on purpose.

what 2m 70 cm antenna do you have ?
i have a comet sbb5 and a diamond 770. both great antennas.
Don't laugh bro both SUV hving different tyres

Defender did way better, much easier. Nothing beats land rover.
Electronic BS put it in low range and get that overpriced POS up the hill
