  • Hanbo-Jutsu (or 半棒術 in Japanese) includes the fighting techniques ( 術 Jutsu) with a semi Bo ( 半棒 Hanbō), also know as Sanshakubo (or Sanjakubo). Literally this name means a staff (bō) with the length of three (san) shaku ( 尺 ), while a shaku is approximately 30.3 centimeters or 11.9 inches long (standardized as 10/33 meter). In this video, budoka Johan Oldenkamp, a former national champion from the Netherlands, performs the Kihon (or 基本 in Japanese) series of Hanbo-Jutsu consisting of Kamae-Waza (techniques for postures), Uke-Waza (techniques for defense), and Seme-Waza (techniques for offense).
