Ten-no-Kata (or 天の形 in Japanese) means ‘heavenly form’. In 1935, this training kata of Shotokan Karatedo was published in Gichin Funakoshi’s “Master Text” titled Karate-Dō Kyōhan, and it was co-developed by his son Yoshitaka Funakoshi (1906 - 1945), just as the Taikyoku kata. The kata itself consists of two parts: the Omote form, which is practiced by the performer alone, and the Ura form, whic...

This video is interesting for me. In my view, Tonfa is useful for Uchi-Uke, Gedan-Barai and so on.
Goed gedaan! Houd je vrije hand altijd op je heup.

Mooi gedaan!
Thank you, Maarten-san.
Thank you
where do you buy kobudo weapon?
Best ask your Sensei, or otherwise the Branch Chief of your country.
Shotokan karatê filosofia de vida oss grato a sensei Fernando Luis vicenzi
Nice
Did you make the surujin with tenis ball? Wow that looks good. I never think about that. It is easy to make?
Drill a hole through the tennis ball and then tie a knot on both sides so that the ball does not slide. I also added small round discs on both sides so that the knot can't go into the ball.
Now this is good!!! I like the use of the 'Monochi' ( handle baton part ), on the other side of the 'Suruchin/Surujin'. But to reiterate, the length of the flail chain. Is measured again, by the practitioner's extended arm length?! Please elaborate for me, thank you. Osu ( Respect )
When you hold the stabbing end in one hand and with the other hand holding the end with the weight, the chain or rope should be tight when the arms are maximally extended.
What is the length, weight, and size?
The length of the regular or short chain should correspond to the arms' own span (as mentioned in the description of this video). The kobujutsuka can determine the weight himself by practicing with it.
Interesting, and yet bizarre! I prefer this video, compared to the kihon, of the Suruchin! Very good, thank you
Constructive criticism is always welcome on this UA-cam channel. However, purely negative comments are not and will therefore be removed.
Cool
This is very unique
Awesome

Oss Sensei Thank you so much for your help and advice,i do appreciate your job,i wish you peace and happiness under the sky of prosperity ,all the best. Take care and have a good time. Your Student from Algeria
I am a Shodan in Shotokan Karate, or first degree black belt. Many of the Katas take a lot of practice to get the movements correct. I enjoyed doing weapons katas too. The Bo, Nunchakus, Sais, and Katana were my favorite. My son also studied to black belt, and my granddaughter earned her black belt as well and went on to teaching and competition. I highly encourage kids to take up Karate because it teaches them valuable discipline that will help them be successful in life.
