Wish I would of saw this video before I bought my first pair of skates you guys really go into detail I went to Hockey Giant and the guy that helped me had no clue or just didn't care ... I'm definitely going to start buying my gear from you guys love all your videos there so helpful ... Thank you
Hey IW, I'm looking for some insight towards my next hockey skate purchase. As an intermediate player, i prefer responsive skates that provide an agile performance. I'm around 5'10 and weigh 125 lbs, and need a pair of skates that are durable and resistant to wear and scuffing. Above all, the skates should be true to fit and offer a comfortable boot (my feet are a bit wider than average, if that's any help) My options are: - Bauer Supreme One.6 - Bauer Vapor X 3.0 - CCM U+ 06 - Reebok 12k
hey Tyson, thanks for the info, i havent been skating long, but i do skate a good few times a week...i do have some slight leverage in my current skate. thanks for letting me know that with the easton range to go half a size down, and since im flat footed the 'W' sounds like a winner for me
Hi, i skate once or twice a week for around 9 hours and i am a pretty good skater, i currently have absolute bottom line skates and i can do plenty of freestyle moves like grapevine, barrel roll, handplant/donut and jumps, i also play recreational hockey for an hour a week, my skate's support is broken and i need new skates, would you reccomend Bauer Vapor X3.0s or Reebok 6k pumps? Thanks
@icehockeywarehouse Yes, I sharpen them regularly, and no matter where or how often I sharpen them, I still don't feel as stable as I used to on my skates. The skate fits me perfectly and is broken in.
whoa, a young tyson. this must be one of the older vids. yo, tyson, chase or anybody.. love the vids by the way. this is my first time commenting and this maybe a bit lengthy. i have a few questions. about me: i would say that i am a casual/recreational skater who's still looking to find the perfect fit, and my goal is to skate like a hockey player in the long run. i've recently bought a pair of bauer supreme 140's, i've decided to get a skate to match my level, though, i don't think im a beginner.. i just can't stop, lol. im currently practicing stopping, cross overs and my tight turns. my foot measurements are 11.5 inches long and 4.5 wide for the left foot and my right foot is the same width but its 11.2 inches for my right. in a 9.0 size boot, i feel my left foot's second toe rubbing the toe cap when im standing and walking. i noticed this a lot more in the agressive stance that the supremes put me in but not so much in the traditional stance of the white k's. my problem: i had bought the reebok white k's as my first pair, back then, all because they looked cool with the white accents and fancy design. now, im more informed about skates levels and their performances. the main problem with the white k's are lace bites from these skates whenever i skate. whenever i lace the 140's up tight so that my feet don't lean inwards, after a while on the ice they hurt the sides of my feet. in addition, the widest point of my left foot just below my big toe is rubbing against the roof or side of the boot around that edge below the toe cap. from the info in this vid, i think that has something to deal with the volume aspect of it, right? i think maybe all of this is because the 140's are an r width. the reeboks were a double e and they felt alright minus the annoying lace bites. solution?: before i purchased the 140's, i was thinking about buying the vapor x2.0's in a size 9.0 ee. do you guys think i'd be ok with a 9.0 ee in that vapor x2.0 or should i get them in a 9.5 ee to compensate for the toe rub and also since they're a narrower fitting skates.. or, should i look to a different family/brand entirely? thoughts, recommendations much appreciated.
@icehockeywarehouse Well, I'm thinking about getting the CCM U+ PRO, but the dramatic price reduction worries me. Also, I heard that it is extremely stiff and hard to break in. Your thoughts?
They have a new stick coming out this Summer. Saw it used during the Stanley Cup playoffs and advertised by Easton. It's black and orange. Don't know name.
I have somewhat of a wide foot and this is the skates that fitted me the best when I was testing skates today: one95 EE, Easton s17 and Graf 709?. The regular one95 was to slim and the u+ was way to slim for my foot. Dont by the u+ because they will give you blister on your heel due to the complete lack of a heelpocket (08 and 09). This is how the heelpocket looks like on the 08 skate--> | And thats straight!!
Hello! I was just curious what your opinion was on Graf skates. 5 11 180 pound, I like responsive skates, and I am a quick footed player looking for skates that will survive some hard hockey.
Thanks for the quick response recommendation. The bad news is the Supreme one.6 black LE that I wanted cannot be shipped to Canada and I'd have to go over the border to pick them up. So now I'm considering the Reebok White K Pump. How would these Reeboks compare the the supreme one.6? Thanks in advance
Hi, so what do you think about Grafs? I hear they are the comfyist skates around? I have a wide foot but I like the aggresive sound of the bauer vapors. Im 6ft2 and bulky, i want speed but I also want comfort. I have a wide foot also. Grafs or vapors what do you think?
Wich one would you take? I hesitate netween these 2; The CCM U+ CL ovi are on special 429.99$ or I could dish out 100$ more for some Bauer Supreme TotalOne, i'm tending on the bauer's but the CCM U+ CL are 100$ cheaper and seem close to the TotalOne's quality
Hi Tyson, I have Bauer one20 skates and they fit great, do you think a bauer one60 would fit great as well? Is a regular width in the one20's closer to a D width or a EE width in the one60's. Also are reebok skates similar fit? Thanks.
I'm 6'4 and not quite 200lbs. My shoe size is somewhere between a 13.5 and 14. I have a wide forefoot (big toe), high arch and narrow heel. I play forward in two competitive men's leagues. In addition, I skate in occasional weekend tournaments. My favorite skate ever was the CCM 652 Tacks w/ pump (circa 1995). Since, I've tried the 2008 CCM U+ Pros and the Bauer Vapor XXV. I sold the CCMs because the blisters were too painful (after 3 bakes). I use the Vapors, but don't love them. Any advice?
Hey Tyson, question on Bauer Flexlite 2.0 Sr. The site says you have them in 6.0R ... does that mean they are slightly wider than say Flexlite 3.0 D?? is this the same R you are talking about in your hierarchy in this video.
Hi Tyson, I have just bought some new skates that fit really well, the only thing is I get a little bit of heel lift. What can I do to stop this. Superfeet insole or some kind of ankle strap? what would you suggest?
Hi, i have a question. Our son in September he will be 13 years old has Bauer Vapor x5.0 and than the X7.0 in D. Now he needs a new pair and some told me that he donßt need a Vapor X7.0 cause it is a pro Skate. Even our son plays hockey three times a week training and games on weekend. What do you think about is it better for his feet to get on X5.0 or X6.0 ? Waiting for your answer THX Mathias
So I was planning on buying the Bauer Vapor skates, but I'm a beginner and I'm more on the smaller size body wise so would that be a good starter skate or should I try something different? I just want to figure this out before buying skates.
@Halofan11 WOW! I've had this exact same problem all my life. I've been playing hockey since I was 11 yrs old and now I'm 27. I the last 5-6 yrs I had a pair of CCM Tacks, D or DD width (which when looking at them, still look narrow for a D/DD) and my feet would cramp. Two years ago I bought RBK 9k (all white, stiff boot), Size E. My feet STILL cramp so badly that I cannot skate for more then a few mins, even had them baked once too and they are decently worked in now too.
Hi there, I'm in the market for a new pair of skates. Fairly good skater, main use would be pickup games 2/week & causual skating also 1-2/week. I'm just getting back into it, having not skated for about 5+ years. I'm 5'10 225 lbs. Would the bauer vapor X4.0 or supreme one.6 be suitable skate based on my weight or would I have to look in a higher/lower type of performance skate. I was initially looking at the vapor x6.0 but I might have to brush up on my skating first. Thanks in advance.
@icehockeywarehouse I don't think it was the issue, I just have a bad genetic I think. Do you have any recommendations on good narrow and stable skates? Thanks
Isn't the Supreme One95 narrower than the Vapors? I've heard that all the Supreme is wider, except the One95 and some other, and that the Vapor is gonna fit V-shaped feet better, is that right or...? I'm curious if I should maybe get a pair of X:60's- I recently got myself a pair of One95'ers and skated on them (after baking) for the first time today. They fit nice at the heel (Though I got some blisters at one foot) but becomes kinda wide at the front, but at the same time, my foot is too wide
Im looking to get some new skates, i play alot of rec, but i am trying out for my high schools team next year. I currently have Easton SE2s but im not really happy with the footbed it doesnt cradle very well. Im looking to spend around $150, What skates would you recommend?
Why don't you guys have Graf? I've been wondering what kind of fit they offer because when trying them on they fit me best between bauer reebok etc. I really like the ultra g75s
Those skates costed me $550 2 yrs ago too and I dont want to spend another $600+ on a decent boot that still manages to make my feet cramp. My last hope I think now is to try a nice pair of Bauer Supremes and go EE. If they still hurt then, I'd be pretty annoyed and have to think there is something genetically wrong with my feet or perhaps the way I skate/balance, etc. My feet tend to cramp/hurt on the sides, at the mid section of my foot. Never my heel and never my toes. Does this happen often?
hey, I'm looking to get myself a pair of vapor v50's and my foot measures in at a 9.5E on the Bauer sizing tool. should I get a set of D's and try to stretch them out a bit or get EE's and try to bake them and shrink the width?
I have the x2.0 and they feel a bit TOO snug. I have a 9.0ee and am looking to get the one.6 or nexus 400. would you recommend me just getting a regular supreme 9 since its a bit wider? or do i still need the ee. Also, im flat footed so i need a little higher arch to keep my feet level and not slanted in. And supreme or nexus
so i am looking for a new skate for the next season. i have allways used the supreme lines i have had one70, one80 and now i have one100. the one100 kinda feels too stiff for me but i use them allmost everyday so im thinking that if i buy the one80 or the newer one.8 are they going be too loose for my use i am 80kg 181cm. if you think yes what other skates would you recommend that are similiar to the supreme line
I tried a pair of Mission 95-AG (D width) skates and found the toe box and forefoot to be a little too narrow, the heal pocket a little too wide, the volume a little too large and the ankle support too flimsy. I am 6'3" tall and 95KG, 12.5US skate shoe size, medium-low foot arch, my weight tends to be ~60% on the front and 40% on the heel. Can you recommend a skate that is a little above entry level on the way to intermediate?
Hi, I'm a beginner, my feet are 9.7" long and 4.3" wide, not sure if I have wide feet. Is the Bauer Vapor X 2.0 suitable for me? What would you recommend?
Thank you for responding, but unfortunately i can not do that; i live outside of US and if i bought a pair i would have them shipped to a friend of mine from the states, and he would mail them to me (to avoid paying an additional ~30% in fees at Romanian customs). Could you measure the insole width at the forefoot for a size 7EE?
Now I use Easton EQ1's, I started a while back, and I wear size 6d's do you think that the Easton stealth s12's are good (in general?) my foot is kind o narrow and I am small, do you think that the Bauer x30's or the Easton s12's would be better for me? (generally speaking)
Hi ice warehouse I'm 14 playing bantam a hockey and I have a narrow anckle so I was wondering if a Bauer vapor would be good and if so what model thanks greetings from canada
Dear IW staff, I've been using Bauer Vapor skates and now I'm planning to switch to Supreme line. I've had Vapor XXXX, Vapor X:60, and Vapor X 7.0 and the size was always 7.0 D. Should I get the same size for Supreme TotalOne NXG skates, too? NOTE: There's no hockey shop in my town so I have no chance to try them on ANOTHER NOTE: X 7.0's feel a little narrower on my feet than X:60's. In fact, I have some pain in the arch and forefoot because of that which didn't go away after heat molding.
Hey guys, I am 5'10, 160 pounds. I have had some Bauer XIVs for years and years and am looking to upgrade. I play at a recreational level and am not looking to spend more than 500 dollars. Was wondering if you had any recommendations at all. Thank you!
Hey Tyson, I just ordered some new Vapor XXXX skates and my shoe size is a 6 and I got a size 4.5 skates, but it seems that my foot just touches the toe box, but I want my skates to be a little bigger so is it possible that I can extend it just a tad bit so it would fit better on me?
I'm a smaller player I play 'A' hockey so that's like beginner/intermediate and i usually have 2 games a week and one practice a week, but i skate about 4-5 times a week what brand would you recommend?
yeah a sticks video sounds good. you could make a video describing the different features in helmets and if they are worth it...i dont know...just an idea
My feet size is 26.6cm length, and 10.35cm width. It is slightly wide, would Bauer Vapour X4.0 EE suits my feet? Or wld you recommend other brands. Btw for inline skates, I use Tour Thor skates and it fits perfectly.
im trying to keep an open mind, i have to buy all new gear and i wanna try out for some pro teams this year but i dont know what to do, its so much money im thinking about buying the entire vapor line what do you think?
Hi I recently bought the Bauer vapor x60 the width is D and when I played hockey with them my foot really hurt not sure if there just new or I need a bigger width and if I need a bigger width my foot is 7.8 cm please answer because I need to know if I should get a bigger width and exchange the skates before its to late
Any idea if there is a big difference between Easton SE6 Skates and CCM U+ Pro Reloaded? (Both D Width) I understand U+ are generally wider, but how much wider are they?
Hi I'm thinking of getting the new Bauer vapors x70. I have roller blades and there width is D I really like that width and there size 5.5 I'm not sure if I should get my skates like that and my shoe size is size 7 to 7.5 please tell me if I should get the skate and which size and width ASAP thanks
I used old bauer vapor XXX skates but they stop making it so i´m looking for something similar. Can you advise me what skates i should try? I was thinking about bauer flexlite 4.0 but i´m not sure.
Nice video thanks a lot! but I have some wonders, my feets are pretty small (8.5~9 shoe size) and when I stand normally they kind of get a V shape, like they are going a bit outside, I have to tape the top part of the skate (above the ankle) so it doesn't feel loose, any recomendations? Thanks again!
6' 1" 230 lbs, skating twice a week, C- player, what would the staff at IW Hockey suggest a far as level of skate, entry-level, mid-level, or near or at pro-level?
Are reebok 8k's/10k's comparable to the bauer one60's. I want a skate that fits tight round the ankle. the bauer one60 seems ok but will a reebok skate give me an even snugger fit?
I know this doesn't exactly pertain to skate fitting; but I am 15 and have been skating for 8 years. I have Vapor X:50s, and for the past few months, I have been having some trouble with the blade. I can't take off fast without losing an edge, and I can't make a tight turn without losing an edge and falling down. I can't get a full stride, and these problems have really been affecting my game. Do you think it could have something to do with the radius or lie of the blade? Pleaseee help. Thanks
I am now using a pair of supreme one05, so R width, and they are somehow too narrow at the forefoot. I am thinking about "upgrading" to one35, but i can only buy them online, so no trying before buying for me. Could you please tell me how big is the difference betwewn R and EE width?
hi, I'm 42 years please help me out in choosing good skates for my amateur level. Go to skate about once a week and I love this sport. I want to buy some skates on the net and I care what brand of skates would be ok for me. My foot size is 43 EUR ... My question is: to take my skates with a greater number or not? Thanks in advance
So I wear a 9 in a skate shoe and that's all I wear.. and my RBK pumps are size 6.5 D and I play about 3 times a week and I play High School JV.. i'm about 120 lbs and i'm 5'5", what do you prefer out of the brands
Normal width that I know of....Can you also give me a few models, including some from the last few years so that I can look around, maybe get some used ones?
some of the new easton range have a w.... what does the 'w' mean in regards to width. i have an old easton skate the se2 and in a size 8, is this still ok??
what skates fit closest to reebok 6ks, i have wider feet and the 6ks seem to fit ok for me but im going to be getting new skates and want something a little lighter
Hi guys, I currently use Reebok 6Ks and I'm looking for a new pair of skates. I have been looking at both Bauer Vapours and Supremes. Which skates will have a width or fit closest to my Reeboks? (D width)
I'm 14 and just starting ice hockey I usually skate once or twice a week and I'm wondering what skates to get. Willing to drop up to $150 and i am a medium foot shape. I have been looking at vapors though.
Hey guys i was wondering if you could tell me where I could still buy the original bauer vapor X60 skates? That is if they are still available anywhere.
Hello icehockeywarehouse team, this is a very good video. Now Bauer makes 3 lines with different types of skates. Could you please make something like this video but only for bauer for example? That's would be perfect, because this is not so obvious with vapor, supreme and nexus. thank you Kind regards
Wish I would of saw this video before I bought my first pair of skates you guys really go into detail I went to Hockey Giant and the guy that helped me had no clue or just didn't care ... I'm definitely going to start buying my gear from you guys love all your videos there so helpful ... Thank you

Nice vid, what skate is more popular and better for a forward, 11k or x60?
Ok thanks Chris for responding to my question here and on the 11k shin gaurd video
Awesome video. What about the new Bauer supremes? Same thing?
Hi, i skate once or twice a week for around 9 hours and i am a pretty good skater, i currently have absolute bottom line skates and i can do plenty of freestyle moves like grapevine, barrel roll, handplant/donut and jumps, i also play recreational hockey for an hour a week, my skate's support is broken and i need new skates, would you reccomend Bauer Vapor X3.0s or Reebok 6k pumps? @icehockeywarehouse Yes, I sharpen them regularly, and no matter where or how often I sharpen them, I still don't feel as stable as I used to on my skates. The skate fits me perfectly and is broken in.
whoa, a young tyson. this must be one of the older vids.

@icehockeywarehouse ok. so do you think if i order from the compony they could make a custom skate size?
what easton skates would be good for this level? Also, what other levels equipment would you recommend?
great video man, good diagrams. im new to hockey and now i know whats going on
I use the s17le skates now and I'm looking for a fit similar to that, something that is narrower. What would you suggest?
hi tyson!
how much should your heel be allowed to lift off the back of the skate? Is it ok if my heel lifts slightly off the bottom when I skate?
@icehockeywarehouse I don't think it was the issue, I just have a bad genetic I think. Do you have any recommendations on good narrow and stable skates?

seems like most of the brands have adjusted the fit profiles on the new stuff.

Okay i have CCM u8 and they give me a great feel but last year i had t-blades and they were hand-me-downs so could it be to worked in or not. THanks
I'm a size 10 US, and wanting to buy a Bauer vapor. What size should I get for the skates and what preference of skates selection from Bauer vapor?
I tried a pair of Mission 95-AG (D width) skates and found the toe box and forefoot to be a little too narrow, the heal pocket a little too wide, the volume a little too large and the ankle support too flimsy. I am 6'3" tall and 95KG, 12.5US skate shoe size, medium-low foot arch, my weight tends to be ~60% on the front and 40% on the heel. Can you recommend a skate that is a little above entry level on the way to intermediate?
Where would the Graf and Flite brands fall as far as the sizing characteristics you covered? Thanks
Dear IW staff,
I've been using Bauer Vapor skates and now I'm planning to switch to Supreme line. I've had Vapor XXXX, Vapor X:60, and Vapor X 7.0 and the size was always 7.0 D. Should I get the same size for Supreme TotalOne NXG skates, too?
NOTE: There's no hockey shop in my town so I have no chance to try them on
ANOTHER NOTE: X 7.0's feel a little narrower on my feet than X:60's.
Thank you!
Hey Tyson,
I just ordered some new Vapor XXXX skates and my shoe size is a 6 and I got a size 4.5 skates, but it seems that my foot just touches the toe box, but I want my skates to be a little bigger so is it possible that I can extend it just a tad bit so it would fit better on me?

I'm a smaller player I play 'A' hockey so that's like beginner/intermediate and i usually have 2 games a week and one practice a week, but i skate about 4-5 times a week what brand would you recommend?
What is that new easton stick and when is it coming out

what would be the best skate for a defense? i play in house bantam i practice twice a week and have 1-2 games over the weekend
My feet size is 26.6cm length, and 10.35cm width. It is slightly wide, would Bauer Vapour X4.0 EE suits my feet? Or wld you recommend other brands.
Btw for inline skates, I use Tour Thor skates and it fits perfectly.
@icehockeywarehouse ive tried the rbk 3K's and i currently have the vapor x30's but which ones have the best padding

Any idea if there is a big difference between Easton SE6 Skates and CCM U+ Pro Reloaded? (Both D Width)
I understand U+ are generally wider, but how much wider are they?
Could you guys please do review on the reebok 12k skates?
So I've always wore an R width, and I want to try Bauer vapors, should I get a D width or EE width?
Hi I'm thinking of getting the new Bauer vapors x70. I have roller blades and there width is D I really like that width and there size 5.5 I'm not sure if I should get my skates like that and my shoe size is size 7 to 7.5 please tell me if I should get the skate and which size and width ASAP thanks

Hello where I can order ice hockey equipment to India.. please reply
cool ^^
i asked that because i tested the fit (for few seconds) on CCM u+9 and Reebok 6k... lenght was ok, just the ccm width was too narrow.
Hey, do you happen to know where you can still purchase new bauer x60 skates?
So if you have giant Trex toe you should go with ccm?
is a bauer vapor EE going to be about the same as a CCM EE? Thanks
The old nike bauer vapors fit the same as this years model right? cuz im thinking of going from x 40's to xxxx's...

Hey guys i was wondering if you could tell me where I could still buy the original bauer vapor X60 skates? That is if they are still available anywhere.
Do you guys deliver international?Im from Malaysia, and pretty much the only skates you can get here are Supremes and Vapors.
Hello icehockeywarehouse team,
this is a very good video. Now Bauer makes 3 lines with different types of skates. Could you please make something like this video but only for bauer for example? That's would be perfect, because this is not so obvious with vapor, supreme and nexus.
thank you
Kind regards
What will be the fit with the bauer flexlite lines?
Is it easy to switch from graf 570 skates to bauer vapor skates or supreme?
