  • In this video series I am going to implement and configure networking with Windows Server 2016. In the third video from the series we are going to implement DNS. DNS is a core name resolution service required by every MS Active Directory domain. Proper DNS configuration is crucial for different services and applications to work.

Hi, firstly great work, have watched most of your videos as i am a Infrastructure Engineer. My question regarding this specific DNS (Part1&2) is why haven't you created the reverse lookup zone which would obviously be needed in a production environment? @NLB

Hi Vinsta, thank you for the support I appreciate it. Yes, it will be a good idea to create a reverse lookup zone for production environments.

NLB Solutions well basically I have two serveers One IP and One domain, i want to make it so when I go to the main domain it goes to one server and when I got to a sub domain it goes to the second server so for example main.pleasework and server2.main.pleasework, I was told about a reverse proxy but the person didn't explain how that would help

Hi Jamshid, if you are working in a small environment I would not recommend doing child domains (level 2 domains). But if this is needed I would recommend reading below it should help you - docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/ad-ds/deploy/install-a-new-windows-server-2012-active-directory-child-or-tree-domain--level-200-
