*raises hand and stands up* do teams typically play their best players in Europa League or sit them out? Pardon me, I've started watching club soccer alot this year due to the fact that either a live game or replay soccer game is on tv almost 24/7 here in America and I have been unemployed in 2020 but prior to this I only watched World Cup soccer. There are soooooo many matches, domestic league on weekends, UCL Monday and Tuesday and Europa League on Wednesday and Thursday. I know about Copa Libertadores, and Copa America now but am still confused about Europa League and whether or not teams push hard or play their best player especially with domestic leagues happening at the same time.
Haha I started out only watching World Cup soccer too, I get it, all the different leagues and comps can be confusing. As for your question, yes it is a pretty deal to win the Europa League. Especially for smaller clubs, they really wanna succeed on a continental level, maybe not so much for clubs like Barca, Madrid and Munich because they expect to compete for the Champions League every year. But the key is, it's all about balance. So if a team like Arsenal has a Europa League game on Thursday but a huge Premier League game against Tottenham on Sunday, they may only use some of their best players in the Europa League. This is where depth comes into play. The best teams in the world are the ones who can afford to rest their best players and still field a very competitive team. So basically, nothing is as prestigious as the Champs League, but teams definitely wanna try to win Europa League too. Thanks a lot for watching!!
In the Champions League, all 8 teams that finish in 3rd place in the group stage are knocked out of the Champions League, however, they get mixed in with the remaining Europa League teams to compete in the knockout stage during the same season. So since Man U finished 3rd in their UCL group this year, they joined Europa League, and from there they kept winning enough to make the Final
It's probably different for everybody, but I would imagine that most players would pick the World Cup if they could only have one. In my opinion, nothing is bigger/better than the WC!
All the aggregate means, is that we take the total score over the 2 games and combine them. All the knockout ties are 2-legs, meaning a team plays once at home, and once on the road. For example, in the Round of 32 Shakhtar already won their first leg against Tel-Aviv 2-0. That means they could technically lose the 2nd leg today 1-0 and still qualify through to the Round of 16 because overall they defeated Tel-Aviv 2-1 on aggregate
Europa League Qualifiers are just a series of playoff rounds over the summer to determine the last few teams that get to qualify for the Group Stage. The Qualifiers basically just make it so more teams have a chance to get in, especially teams from smaller countries. But if a team is in the Group Stage, that means they're one of the final 48 teams that actually qualified for the Europa League, either because of finishing highly in their own table, or through the UEL Qualifiers. Hope that helps!
All 3rd placed teams in the UCL that season move down to the Europa League that same season. They skip the group stage and enter the Play-off stage. It is the same season though, they just start out in the UCL and continue in the UEL.
@@The_Rizz_Lord_ well you get prize money according to the round you reach. so every team involved get some sorts of cash reward even if you lose in the group stage. and I imagine it's a pretty big deal for clubs to have at least 3 extra home games in a season, that's 3 more games of ticket sales, concessions, ad revenue, etc.
@@snowmansportsmedia I see. But the rewards are minimal compared to the damage as it will stretch the team and impact domestic Performance? Say reward is around 8 million pound, that is nothing in the grand scale of things as clubs spend double that amount on buying a player. Not worth playing Europa, champions league may be worth it.
@@The_Rizz_Lord_ perhaps, but these players and coaches play to win trophies as their top priority, so it's probably not easy for them to just pack it in w certain competitions
Please tell me one thing.man u is in the round of 16.so they are not playing europa.but they are out of top 4 in pl so they wont qualify for the next years ucl.but Barca got out of ro16 but also in the 7th place. But they have a chance to qualify for the next years ucl.does that mean if you are bad at domestic, finishing at no3 at group stage is better?
Hmm that's an interesting way of looking at it, but I think teams are always trying their best to win every match. They don't look at it like "Oh well maybe finishing in 3rd instead of 2nd is our best chance to qualify again for the UCL next year."
Can you explain how Man U qualified for Europa this year if they finished high on the premier league table the previous season? They should be in Champions League only?
So correct me if I'm wrong here. Top 4 domestic league teams qualify dire tkt for champions league. The Europa league winners qualify for champions league also? And what is the FA cup? Do their winners qualify anywhere?
Yeah so that's just for the English Premier League. In the Premier League, the top 4 get Champions League, and they also have 3 Europa League spots. So typically those go to teams who placed 5-7 in the table. The exception is if a team not in the Top 7 wins the FA Cup. The FA Cup is an extra knockout tournament throughout the year for English teams. Here's a link to a video I made about the FA Cup: ua-cam.com/video/puwvbXMNjzw/v-deo.html - But yeah the FA Cup winner always qualify for Europa League, so technically the 7th place team might not get in
I have a question, if a club qualifies for both the Europe league and the champions league do they have to create two separate teams for each tournament or is the same team used for both?
I think there is change now group stages top teams directly qualify to round of 16 and 2nd position play with ucl 3rd positions whoever wins qualify to round of 16 🤔🤔
Can someone explain as a us citizen why cant the MLS champion be included Into the champions league. If not dont you think it would be of best interest to the western world?
Dude each continent has its own champions league, but the European one is the most famous one. Winner of each champions league plays in club World Cup, which most often is won by the European champions. Just use a little bit of your brain. How can a north american team play in Europe ?

Depends on if you are loyal to your club/city or country
The World Cup is the only thing that unifies the fanbase from several clubs under the flag of a country. So I'd say WC.
The few dozen people who disliked this video must have their teams not even qualified for Europa league

Qualifying for the 2020-2021 Season is going on right now. Check out the schedule here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020%E2%80%9321_UEFA_Europa_League
What Happened To Arsenal In This Europa League Season Arsenal Finished First But They're Not Qualified to Round Of 16 ???
Arsenal is in the R16, but the draw isn't until Feb 24th, so we won't know who they play until then
