Only the very capable mind of Richard Elliot could arrange such a magnificent piece and not use relevant sheet music. Truly a genius with the King of Instruments and the Temple Square Organs never ever disappoint us. But of course we cannot forget the other very capable Organists who bring delight and glory with their performances on a regular basis. These Organists, like Richard Elliot, need no introduction, for the magnificence of their piece, the skill of their performance, and the dedication of their existence speaks volumes on their own.
Gioachino Rossini, William Tell, Tonto, the Lone Ranger, my wonderful 3rd graders and I thank you for this most amazing piece of music! I used to play the entire piece for my kids and tell them they could have 5 minutes extra recess if they could tell what show it was the the theme to in 8 minutes. Of course Tonto and the Lone Ranger only ride in a little after the first 8 minutes. Oh, we had fun! Even Beethoven would love this piece, played magnificently by these 5 tabernacle organists.
Wonderful addition to an outstanding virtual Mormon Tab Choir performance this afternoon, July 19. Loved the 5 organs doing William Tell. SO fun!!! Nice to see/hear the organists perform something this appealing - as well as the wonderful more serious pieces they always add to the broadcast. This special broadcast today was stunning. So grateful for the choir and their giving so generously of their time and talents - especially Mack Wilberg and all the 'crew' required to make this all happen.
I'm glad you post this from "Piping Up." This is probably the first time in history that 5 organist play one organ. BUT virtually. Thank you and love it. Now just archive all of the "Piping Up" episodes and everyone will be. Again thank you and love it.
This is my new wake up song...it starts my day with a smile and verve. I remember as a child learning the story of William Tell and then learning the Overture in music class! AMAZING. Do more like this! Then make a CD of fanfares like this with 5 organs. The precision is amazing and a thanks to technology and your people who know how to implement it. MORE PLEASE
Thank you for sharing this. So much fun to watch the metronomic minds of the tabernacle organists working together to sync all the subdivided rhythms and harmonies for such a spectacular presentation! Bravo!
Notice that Richard Elliot was the only one who has no musical piece sheet in front of him while playing? What a brilliant organist he is using memory to play the organ perfectly. The Church must protect him and the other organists at all costs! 😄😄🙏🏻🙏🏻
This was very exciting. I loved it, especially at a time when I'm starved for good entertainment. Thank you, 5 organists, I who went to the effort to put this fun arrangement together. It must have taken considerable effort. I really appreciate this gift.
This is the first time I've seen this. AMAZING! STUPENDOUS! I mean it. The only other performance of this "Galop" that I've seen is the one performed by Johnathan Scott, and that was outstanding. But THIS. Five at once. And each playing their part, and on the same instrument at different recording times? OUTSTANDING!
So wonderful! Thank you for this great experience AND watching it. I can't just stop listening ... had to discipline myself to do so, but I'll be back. 😍❤
wowwwww this is one of the callings that am interested in, all my wish is to be called as a ward organist one day but I feel so sad that up till now am still unable to play with both hands cause my left hand is giving me a tough time, out of anger I sold out my keyboard cause I was like maybe heavenly father doesn't want me to play organ in His church. But I will keep being proud of those that did what I couldn't do. so am proud of these wonderful brothers and sister, they are amazing.
Wow! Brother Elliot, no sheet music at all. Impressive! This came together very well. It looks like they are all playing from the same organ, they nailed the timing! Well done.
WOW !! This was fabulous . I thoroughly enjoyed it . Every year at West Point Military academy the last concert of the summer concert series at Trophy Point on the Hudson River The William Tell Overture is played by the West Point Band & the big Cannons are Fired Off /.
So, the whole score was broken down into pieces, each played a-la cart by an organist, then re-assembled by ultra accurate editing later on? Layered recording? Amazing job!
Love watching how the "generations" played. Maestro=memorized. Top & bottom left were sheet music and page turning. Bottom right tapped his tablet to turn his pages. Top right? I have no idea! I watched this twice and never saw her touch what looks like an electronic device, but how'd it automatically advance her display? no idea. and have to agree to the finesse of these performers doing this without headphones, metronomes, etc.
HazeKomp, after I viewed it several times, I think Linda Margetts' entire part fit onto her one-page tablet display, while that of Joseph Peeples was a two-page display, which doesn't make too much sense, unless he had the entire score visible.
Dude, that performance is amazing. I wonder how you guys did to sync up the 5 organists. Normally people use headphones with a metronome or something like that so they can play it together without varying the tempo. Awesome!
Boris Wilson Creations, I saw at least two earbuds, worn by Andrew Unsworth and Brian Mathias on the left, and it's possibly Joseph Peeples on the right is wearing another hearing device, bluetooth, perhaps? EDIT: Ah yes! He IS wearing a regular earbud. I finally saw the cord in the earlier part, half hidden by his collar. It's pretty much invisible in the last part. END EDIT. There's no telling, with Linda Margetts' long hair, if she's using an earbud, too.

Linda, Joseph, Brian, Richard and Andrew, thank you for sharing your talents with us!
and, of course, Brother Elliot is playing without music! 😃 this is a lot of fun!

Excellent way to be innovative during a period of time that any such collaboration would be frowned upon.
My parakeet is in heaven dancing to this! He loved this song! Bravo!!!!

The gentleman in the middle has his parts mesmerized. Cool
That's Richard Elliott. He always memorize his music. Especially his arrangements.
If you see music when he is playing it is rare he has an amazing memorization expecially with his arrangements
Absolutely stunning and amazing!!! 10 stars out of 5.
Very energetic and uplifting! Thank you for sharing your talents.
This is one of the best renditions I have ever heard. Good job guys!

This is pure gold. With a bit of Silver.

Agreed

Richard Elliott is truly a gifted musician.
Only Richard Elliot could put together a video like this!
They look like they're having FUN!!

This sounds great! As always, the organists at temple square are amazing!

Incredible! Loved every minute of this.
The 32”s sound so good in this room
I bet this was something else in person
Wow! Brother Elliot, no sheet music at all. Impressive! This came together very well. It looks like they are all playing from the same organ, they nailed the timing! Well done.
xolanimtha, the description says they all played on the "historic Tabernacle Organ".
This is simply amazing!
This was fun to watch! Thanks!
OH MY GOODNESS!!! How in the world did they manage to get all 5 parts synced??? This was just AMAZING!
They are wearing ear pieces and their sheet music is in syn to it. Just professionals doing what pro's do!! Very awesome of course.

fantastico!! grandi organisti che hanno a disposizione un grande strumento. complimenti!!
Notice that Mr. Richard Elliot didn’t have his music on his stand!
easier to memorize it all than try to turn a page at that pace!
A quarantine masterpiece. Thank you
So, the whole score was broken down into pieces, each played a-la cart by an organist, then re-assembled by ultra accurate editing later on? Layered recording? Amazing job!
Kind of like a chef who makes a deconstructed apple pie.
Amazing!! Glorious!!
Observem que foi tudo tocado no mesmo aparelho musical. Bravo!

There's an app that listens to you playing and knows when to turn the page.
This is magnificent! Thank you for the wonderful performance. How about more?
That was super cool!!!
They did a Great Job Making this.
That was amazing!
Absolutely fantastic superb 👍

Awesome! Hi-ho Silver!
Great! LOVE IT.
I love that they have five different sheet music setups, including no visible sheet music at all!

So the guy in the middle has it all memorized? Dang
Amazing! 👏
Now this is what I call Church Music!

did they use the 32' stops
Dude, that performance is amazing. I wonder how you guys did to sync up the 5 organists. Normally people use headphones with a metronome or something like that so they can play it together without varying the tempo. Awesome!
My guess is Richard Elliot played his part first and in ear monitors allowed the rest to follow with masters in the editing room to put it together

Remember the old joke "An intellectual is one who can hear the William Tell ov
erture & not think of the Lone Ranger."
very good! :-) makes me funny to see and hear :-)
How many of you also know this as the theme to "The Lone Ranger"?
the guy in the center is doing it from memory
3 mintues in and I realizeed the guy in the middle isn't using music!
Was I the only singing the mom song while listening to this
No, no you were not. :)
Racing to the finish 😆
👏👏👍🥰
