- When you have old structures and out buildings, they need a second life and a cheap one at that. We repurpose this derelict building into the most beautiful chicken coop! Using second hand materials and some sweat it turns out beautifully. #Chickens #Chickencoop #Flannelfarms #DIY #Repurposed #REuse #Homestead #Farm #Family

Great job! I hope the children have a good time raising the "Flannel Fowl"! God bless y'all and keep growing.
It turned out great. It has character and reflects smart decisions. Thank you for taking the time to share and God bless y'all!
That came together pretty cool
Coop looks beautiful 😍
Looks great gd job. We also started pallet shed 3 rows high n he just covered outside with boarding from menards but the floor n sides structure is all free pallets i brought home almost twice a week fully loaded old mini van top to inside stuffed. Praise Yah blessings
Cutest hobo chicken coop in the land!
Some of the nicest trellises
I've put up were made from crepe myrtle branches. God provides.
Amen
Cute coop. I like the finishing touches.
THAT was so enjoyable!!!!
Thanks, Flannels.
Great use of stuff on hand. Love the finishing touches. Great job!
💕😊👍🍁🙏love it
Great!
OK, that's a cool coop.
It’s cute! ❤ I love recycling stuff
Well done!
so cute!!!
Job well done everyone! I like the coop! Glad to see that you are feeling better Brian! As always I look forward to more vid's on your homestead progress! May God Bless you all! 🙏 ❤ 📖😇
Thank you!
The thing about animals--and also about gardens--the chickens don't care--and neither do the garden plants--if it's hobo-y or cute. Cute's good if it doesn't cost too much in terms of time or money! I'm liking this more and more as I get older!
Love it! 🐓🐥
What a creative build. Nice job.
Looks good. Step by step it goes.
Looks awesome!! --L
I have always joked my building style was "kids building a fort out in the woods" look. Really liked the shutter door, definitely going to do that.
Coop looked really nice in the end. Loved the roadkill garage mention. Don't get it right just get it done😂. Understand completely have 1000 projects to do and no time or $$ to do them. Knock em out as the big man permits. Glad your doing so well and wishing y'all a blessed day.
Very cute coop! A well stocked bone yard is such an essential part of a homestead or farm. All the bits and bobs you didn't know you needed until it is exactly what you need.
Exactly!
Also if you want to do an interview we can do it on both channels if you'd like. Do a duel live stream? When you've got internet of course. Haha
@@FlannelFarms yeah man that sounds fun!
I LOVE IT!! 🐓
Lol.i just did the same. Zip ties are my friend😊
Very nice! I like Hobo-ey. My husband built an amazing coop out of materials that were on our property when we moved here 2 years ago. There was a roof that was just sitting on the ground, cinder blocks and old beams. I love it!
Love it. Great coop build. Nothing wrong with recycled hobo 😂
You are such a tease! Secrets…Love watching your adventures and projects. Glad you are doing well!
Looks great!
"Hobo-y" is bad but "BoHo" is chic. Just change the pronunciation.
Keeping up with yall.....good job...recycle recyle, good job! Love the shutters & the hanging light fixture....so chic...lol......its great!!!!

Yes allways good to reuse 😊😊😊 i am shore you with your great skill set will work wonders
Now Brian, that looks like the kind of I build.
I think it is adorable. I have fallen in love with linseed oil. I can see it treated with that and it will glow like an envy chic chick chalet. especially on the front with those shutters. It's Flannel Fabulous.
Chickens are arsonists. 😂🤣
I love how you work so fast!😂
Zoom zoom!
Chickens are arsonists😂 I was on the floor! I want to send a wood burned sign that says Feathered Flannel Flock. Chickens can have such identity crisis, doncha know. The hooptie coop is charming. (This is what I call some of my chickens containment creations.) The plus/minus is that as I've built better, they have gotten less hysterical, but hope springs eternal. You are a great husband and dad Brian. Next year's goal, no heart surgery.
I'm on board with that! No surgeries for a while would be lovely :)
I like your idea of a hanging coop in the shed building. I like the shutters for the door. Those railroad ties make a great base. We did have our railroad ties touching the ground rot out over the 15 years we've been here. They were used to pour concrete between them to make an entry to our barn. They are pretty much gone now. Nice siding Brian! I like the saw blade. I really like the Flannel Farm Fowl run! Those chickens do look happy! I love the rustic look of it! Thanks for this video Brian and family!
Gladly!
The railroad ties will probably outlast the rest of the structure lol
Looks good from here Brian . There is a lot to be said about recycling and up cycling Pallets are all the rage as free stuff goes. If you have access to a saw mill you might be able to get free off cut lumber too.
It turned out really nice. Well done! My husband made ours framed with large pallets. It's worked out very well and wasn't very expensive at all.
My wife calls these skill the “great depression building skills” slap everything together and eventually it looks like something 😂😂😂
It looks fabulous 🙏🏼 I'm English and I say...posh doesn't always rock! Keep doing what you're doing 💯💛
Im chuffed at fabulous! Lol
Almost done with coop on 3 pallet open bottom n roost on top with neighbors shelf was in dumpster. Filling in top part pallet around. Then will put hay in top part only. A friend few miles away is gonna give us 10 plus chickens yay. Maybe 15 as they want to downsize. We learned this from your 6 pallet coop thx.
That is great! If you're willing I'd love to see pictures of the finished coop! You can send them to theflannelguys54@gmail.com
My eyes we’re playing a trick on me. When the time lapse started I noticed the chainsaw and the big round circular blade behind it but at that moment I thought that round blade was some how attached to the chainsaw and you had a crazy contraptions going on😂😂😂😂😂
That would be cool!!
Looks great man! Yes, chickens are arsonist 😂😂
It looks great. We are in process of building our chicken shantytown. Was given two old coops and we have a carport frame we are making for outside area. So I get it. We are using what we have also. Later plan to paint both coops so have some cohesiveness to the area.
Very cool
5:15 I really thought we were about to break into a David the good song about Brian’s hobo chicken coop 😂
HAHA
nice makeover, I just found out that a roost bar should only be 2.5 feet off the ground:( I wish I had enough stuff to build a mobile chicken coop for my 10 girls.
I didn't measure it but I think ours is around that high.
Looks great! However, I am glad it was kind of run down for a little while.
...otherwise, I never would have learned the word: hoboie...hoboee?
Hobo-ey lol .
I pray you put some stronger wire on top where the chicken wire is now. just thinking of what raccoons do. climbing. praying to keep your flock safe.
We don't have any predator pressure to speak of thanks to our LGD. Our free range birds have been fine for months in the open.
Looks great!! You recycled material and made a dent in things to do.
Coop looks great 👍. How many eggs now? Thanks for sharing 🙏 😎 🏖 🏝
4 to 6 a day from them and we are still finding about 4 a day from the wild birds
C'mon, guys! Everything's ball bearings these days!
Love it. I want to know how you did the original pallet barn, i need one!
That one was a pile barn, and pallets were added as filler between the poles. So not as cheap but it looks pretty good 😀
Not road kill but I am a big fan of Vice Grip Garage
Ice cube juice!
Are you getting solar?😊
Nope!
Maybe 2024 will be the year of Homestead Sales. Like a garage sale, but instead what's offered is homestead produced items that are all of course for animal consumption only..😂 kids can learn business skills from egg/chick to final sale. Plus farmers markets really take too much in fees for small homesteaders.
They really do.
Looks great! But Mrs. Flannel saying she likes “hoboey” was about as convincing as hearing an Arminian talk about how much they believe in God’s sovereignty. 😊
HAHA
