It’s so surreal to see the southern extent of the line being slowly restored to service after not being used since 1956. These guys deserve all the praise for their hard work
They absolutely do - this was my first time at the EBT volunteering with the Friends, and am very proud to have helped out in this impressive effort! The dedication of many of the volunteers is astounding - several of them are at it practically every week of the year!
I am impressed at the great progress out here , was here last fall and the work is astounding. These guys mean business and will be to Pogue in no time !! The ROW weed control rivals and exceeds most main lines !!
Well I'm glad someone made a video of the new track. It looks like Tuck deserves a big congratulations for doing such a good job building track that's looking like 30 mph track all day long. Really good job. the only thing I'd do is load up with stone along the edges to keep lateral movement under control
This is one of my favorite places to visit. I try to go every year to patronize EBT railroad. It’s a true gem! It’s great to see the yearly progress that they are making fixing everything up. And to think that EBT railroad was almost sold for scrap iron back in the early 2000’s.
One of the highlights of the 1990 NMRA National Convention was riding the EBT. Sure happy the line is thriving. I have some EBT HOn3 kits that I have got to get built.
Great video - I love seeing the latest trackwork, and Henry giving hand signals at the end. A note of correction - the M-4 is a 12 ton Plymouth, not two ton - or at least it was the last time I ran it!!!
I can’t imagine the amount of brush and trees that needed to be removed. Very nice ditch work along the RofW. How much of the rail is original? Anyway great job to all involved.
About 3/4 of a mile from current end-of-track (as of 2024-09-19). However that's the current extent of laid rail - a few thousand feet or so east/north of there still needs to be ballasted and tamped.
Not too far after EOT the tracks cross Route 994, round a sweeping left hand curve, go through the front yard of a high school, and a little ways after the school is the bridge.
The one by the Shops? No, some kid would fall in, hurt themselves, etc. The one up the hill, for the engine coaling station? Probably, they'll be using it.
@@traindude70 Wow bravo. If you don't mind: Right at Hamman Road, where the tracks cross, it looks like it almost lands in someone's yard. Is that still the Right of Way?

Slowly would not be the word I would have chosen. The progress has been energetic .
@@jpaulkepler4638 Very true
I think I saw some buildings right beside the line in one area. How old are those houses? There was also a small barn.
well done to all of you at the EBT, that's some mighty fine track work you all have done.
Track looks great. Nice to see improvements on lines!
Absolutely awesome can’t wait till they reach the end of the line down at the old mines
Excellent video thanks for posting AND thumbs way up for the work that was done, looks very good!
It’s amazing how much progress they’ve made and I sure can’t wait to see more
I love this little railroad so much!

Wow beautiful. Looks like narrow gauge too. Looking good thank you. I enjoyed, thanks for sharing.
It's 3' gauge.

Awesome progress ❤❤
It’s been some time since we’ve visited from South Carolina
To quote Nebraska 66, "A legend from the past is born again at last."
Just an incredible sight!
I absolutely love it!

Wow! Nice job EBT and FEBT!
Great vide Rob!
I was hoping to see a video of the progress. Can't wait to visit the EBT again!
2:24 guy cracks a cold one. Nice.

Wow! I had no idea……
Nice! Subbed Marietta, Ga.

Isn't the tunnel to the mine collapsed?
Amazing video sir glad to see the progress on video how close the progress is of the bridge???

They've already gone under a road bridge. The Pogue Bridge is a ways off. Next year?
Is the hopper Unloader going to be restored.
The one by the Shops? No, some kid would fall in, hurt themselves, etc.
The one up the hill, for the engine coaling station? Probably, they'll be using it.
Very nice video rob so how many miles south is this from orbasonia ?
About 1.7 miles of track has been laid south from the yard in Rockhill Furnace
No horn for crossings? I could see a track speed of 40 on those rails.
At this point, how many miles of mainline trackage exist to run passenger trains over? Nobody seems to know!
About five, from "Orbisonia" to Colegate Grove. There is only speeder service southbound, and that distance increases weekly.
@@ReggieArford Thanks for your response!
When EBT was operating, did they build their own hoppers, or were they manufactured elsewhere and shipped in??
Both. They did order cars and also parts so they could make more. Plus with the rebuild program most hoppers are practically new cars
@@mattsmocs3281 Thanks
How far does the current funding plan on going?
Saltillo is the goal. End of this year is pouge bridge
@@traindude70 Wow bravo. If you don't mind: Right at Hamman Road, where the tracks cross, it looks like it almost lands in someone's yard. Is that still the Right of Way?
@@nopenope9416 yes. All trackage owned by EBT is still considered active right of way.
Not really "end o f track" but end of restored track.
A waste of time, money and effort. Scrape it!
Do you own a nearby metal scrap yard?
Go scrape yourself.
You have to be joking, because that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard 😂
Have you ever been up here ? And you type "scrape it" , you must be mental , and you can't even spell properly.
