    I purchased the Shark IQ at Costco and then it when on sale (bummer). I like it a lot. Then I purchased the Shark IA robot. I can see a big difference in a lot less bumping into things, and slows down just before it turns direction, as well as mapped better. The AI does map faster and returns to the base station more directly with LiDar. Overall they both seem nice. What was hysterical was the AI bumped into the IQ robot on the charging station three time before it was totally off the station. The IQ woke up and discovered it was not in its home docking station. Turned it self around and re-docked itself. So I guess you can't have just one robot. They need a playmate. Thanks for your videos.

    I think it did pretty good. People just think shark has a terrible reputation in robots, so they never give it a second chance. Our second gen shark iq robot we got for 112 dollars at a bargain store and ut came with a self empty. WE LOVE IT. It's so much better than the first gen just because it has a floor tracker

    I have had my Shark AI for just over a week and I am in love with it. I work from home so I was concerned about the noise. It's fine until it parks and self empties. Maybe I should reconsider having it in my office. I have it vacuum my house every few days, excluding my office, and then have it do the office after work. Today, I took a 15 minute break, dusted 1/2 the house and set the Shark to vacuum those rooms while I'm back at work. Once a week I grab a dust mop, get under low furniture, around legs, etc. and just shake it out before sending off the Shark. Even with the $200 coupon, it was pricey but I also have an expensive Miele who is now relaxing in the closet.

    Got a Shark AI Robot Vac (not self-empty) for $179 at BJs. Actually very happy with it for a vacuum to keep the first floor tidy. So far seems like a great deal at that price for the quality of the cleaning it does.

    idk man maybe you shouldnt have jelly beans on the floor. Like i have reasonable expectations that when things other than dirt/dust/hair are on the floor that maybe, just maybe, the cleaner won't like it depending on how it gets sucked in. I've seen it with roombas before too

    Thanks for the great review. I just purchased this model from their website but have not yet received it. This will be my first robot vacuum, and I'm hoping it's worth the price. Bit of a vacuum freak here. I own somewhere around 20 of them, from a 1980's Kenmore canister (still working great) to a modern Dyson. The reason I went with the Shark AI is because I have a Shark DUO upright that I use more often than even the two other Dysons that I have. Ninety-day money back guarantee... hopefully it won't disappoint !!

      Keep in mind this is my first robot vacuum, so I really can't fairly judge it's performance vs others. But I will say that I'm very happy with my purchase.
      After about a week of use, the "max power" setting seemed to increase. Not sure if that was due to an update, or possibly a break in period.
      I have hard wood floors with area rugs in each room. In my opinion, it does an excellent job on both. The robot vacuum and docking station have been problem free so far. The app leaves a bit to be desired, but is essential to get the most out of it's capabilities. So far, voice commands with Google assistant has worked without any hiccups as well.
      I have it scheduled to vacuum high traffic areas every day; then the remaining mapped 1800 square feet on a room per day schedule. There is a noticeable decrease in dust, especially in hard to reach areas like under the couch etc!

    If anyone is interested, I did some sound level testing just now on my engineered vinyl flooring. I measured 65db with my iPhone 1 foot away from the Stud on normal suction, and 58db after I walked away 7 feet down the enclosed 3 foot wide hall; 60db when we were both inside the small laundry room, and now sitting in another room, it went down to 39 when it was in the hallway on the other side of the open dining room. Used NIOSH SLM app and iPhone microphone, all I have but that might be a good reference point for someone concerned with noise level. I do not trust manufacturer measurements.
    Plus, if I have the stereo or tv on, it really does not bother me. Noise level is about personal tolerance. Airplanes flying over my house when I’m sitting outside bothers me a lot, but sitting in my house watching TV and having my Stud vacuuming for me does not bother me one bit at its normal sound level.
    Adam, did you do any sound measurement comparisons between all the available units in the market? If the tool does not measure precisely, just having relative differences to each other would be interesting.
    There are pros and cons to every robot vacuum. . . It is just - which of them meet your particular needs.

    Got my robot a few days ago and I really like the way it very accurately mapped my apartment. I'm not loving the sound of that brush. Just sounds harsh. I do have a question that I hope folks can help with with..... So the first time I used it, the robot docked properly and the base sucked up all the dirt from the robot. After the dock was done, the vacuum shut off and no additional noise was made. However, now I noticed that during the same docking procedure with the suction, the robot brush activates and actually stays on for a few seconds even after base ends the vacuuming process. I noticed in this video that this issue does not happen. I'm wondering if I have a defective robot

    still garbage compared to the S9. It's even garbage compared to my older i7 that's been running for a couple of years now. Just think when somebody buys one of these and doesn't know you are supposed to perform maintenance on them and just doesn't ever do it how bad it will clean. That might be an idea for another video: what happens when you don't maintain your robot.

    Sorry Sharky, you still (don't) suck! Too many leavings for that price point! Also that noisy jelly bean rattle is a "no way" for me!
    Also those brushes still spin too fast! I saw it throw a jelly bean across the floor that it never picked up!
    It does seem like these devices are improving with each generation, but I'll wait about 2 more years before making the "investment".

  • @dttra566

    You obviously have not been paid enough by Shark that you hate it so much that you pick on something as trivial as vacuum noise after picking up huge jelly beans. LOL I tell you, your favorite vacuum clean, Roborock makes about the same amount of noise after picking up just small paper clips. That's just how all vacuum cleaners work. After they suck up something hard, that hard thing will keep hitting the brush, the dust bin, whatever it just happens to be stuck at and you will hear the same noise. Roborock obviously pays its reviewers really well. LOL I see so many positive review videos popping up left and right doing nothing but showering praises on it. I guess it pays to be the second largest economy in the world.
    What I would like to know is did Shark finally improve its mapping ability? You did a lot of videos before exposing its terrible mapping abilities. Has this Shark finally improved upon that? Thanks

    • @AdamsReviews
      @AdamsReviews  2 роки тому +1

      I find your assumptions hilarious. I have never been paid a dime for a review. They do send me units to review but I make my review honest. Also you are very wrong. The shark is literally the only robot vacuum that gets a little jelly bean stuck in it's bar. Thats because sharks are designed poorly. It's even loud without anything in its bar LOL. You should buy a shark! Also did you ever think roborock gets soooo many praises because it's actually a great robot?

    • @dttra566
      @dttra566 2 роки тому +3

      @@AdamsReviews You might not get paid per se for reviewing but the fact that you get sent vacuum cleaners for free to review is a form of payment as those vacuum cleaners are not cheap. Even the cheapest Roborock S50 back several years ago can easily run for $600+ with the most recent S7 one that can cost over $1000 so the fact that you receive them for free to review vs. somebody who would have to spend that much money to buy them to review is what I would consider as getting paid for reviewing. And it is obvious that you do consistently review Roborock more positively and it is not always because Roborock is necessarily a better vacuum which I will talk about in the next paragraph. So I and all of your viewers, I am sure, would appreciate if you disclose when you are given vacuum cleaners for free and when you are not in your review videos so we can take into consideration of all information when assessing your review.
      I had two Roborocks and I can tell you they are not that great. Yes its cleaning mechanisms are very well designed in that it cleans very efficiently and well but the quality of the accessories and the assembly quality leaves much to be desired and they have non-existent customer service and repair services. The first Roborock that I bought lasted about two years and then I started to get Error 13 where it just refuses to charge beyond a certain percentage. It turns out it's due to a problem with either the transistor or a charger fuse on the motherboard. And since Roborock only has a 1-year warranty and its dealers and HQ is located all the way in China, you are pretty much on your own to find ways to repair it. As far as I know, there are no repair services for Roborock in North America, the closest one is in Europe where it cost 100+ Euro to get it fixed or you kiss your $600+ (which is how much I paid) goodbye. The second Roborock I had had less issues with charging the robot but it constantly runs into errors like error 10 when you just had the tiniest dust stuck somewhere in one of those filters or error 6 or error 21, it just stops vacuuming altogether in the middle of its operation after having started for just 10 minutes. And the noise problem with having picked up hard objects is, like I said, a given and it happens all the time. So this is why I am quite puzzled why you would choose to scrutinize such a trivial issue with Shark vac when it happens with pretty much all vacuum cleaners.
