    Forever flow the comments about using the word 'meat' to name veggie / vegan dishes. It's JUST a play on words! Ugh... It's not a big deal. Would it be easier to call this recipe: "cous-cous-bread-carrot-onion-baked-balls?"
    Great recipe lads. Nice T-shit Tim!

    Sounds gorgeous, can't wait to try this with my fiancee :D hyped.
    Already rolling my eyes at people bashing vegetarian/veganism so far though. sigh. Especially the nit pickers and ignorant "where do you get your protein" people. You guys do realize Quinoa is high in protein right in this recipe for starters?

    • @lofts2399
      @lofts2399 9 років тому +6

      Gem H Most meat-eating folks (myself included) get far too much raw protein in their diets, not really optimum for health. It's quite easy to get 'enough' protein from plant foods because the human body needs far less protein than we think it does!

    • @thehappypear
      @thehappypear 9 років тому +1

      Gem H Isn't it wild. :D I've never heard of anyone with a protein deficiency

    Why 90% of all vegan / vegetarian dishes seek to replace meat ?

    • @lostindisorder
      @lostindisorder 9 років тому +38

      synapsenfick8762 because we can? that and if you have family members who eat meat most of the dishes go down awesomely with them. And some people when they first transition need that crutch, or they just miss old recipes but want them without the meat. It's not rocket science.

    • @Amy-tx1ru
      @Amy-tx1ru 9 років тому +38

      Simply because every other recipe without meat is already vegetarian, so they try to give vegan/vegetarian options also for dishes with meat

    • @MrsSkyLucy
      @MrsSkyLucy 9 років тому +32

      synapsenfick8762 You know, meat doesn't already come in the form of balls, steak or sausage. You first have to form it, the same it is for veggies and grains.

    • @irenikaloba
      @irenikaloba 9 років тому +12

      synapsenfick8762 and because why to reinvent the wheel if you know these recipes do work and you can make them with the ingredients you prefer!

    • @macaoron
      @macaoron 9 років тому +2

      synapsenfick8762 Because meat and dairy products are large sources of protein, and protein is one of the three main macronutrients - stuff that makes our bodies function. Vegans and vegetarians have to find another way to fulfill their needs of protein. They usually consume lots of beans, seeds, nuts, peas and other vegetables to do so.

    Always happy to find a new vegan recipeeeee! Nice to find the happy pear, never seen any of your stuff before but I'm totally getting this. Tim just looks healthier and healthier as time goes on. Yum yum, trying these 'meatballs' today. X

      @CorneliusSneedley 9 років тому +1

      Gem H It is certainly not impossible to obtain sufficient complete protein from a plant based diet, but it can very difficult. People tout quinoa as being a good source, but when compared to ground beef it is pretty low. There are about 23 grams of protein in a 100 grams of ground beef, as opposed to 4 in 100 grams of quinoa.
