Hi Denominator, thank you and it’s SO cool to think of you watching my videos in Iceland 🇮🇸 just amazing and I’m reaching out from the UK to shake your hand 🤝🤝🤝🤝
Hiya, thank you so much and one day I would LOVE to visit Brazil. I have played the tunes of Jobim so many thousands of times and I’d love to see the place that they came from. I love Brazil 🇧🇷 ❤️🇧🇷🤝🎷🎷🎷
Wonderful, I've recently purchased a TravelSax2 and can't wait to get stuck in to your method, have taken your advice and purchased the Studio Band stuff and IReal pro. Going to have hours of fun. Also got an Alto and Tenor but the TravelSax I means I can stick my earphones in and not annoy my wife or our neighbours lol. Thanks again for your wonderful videos
Thanks for your clarity and simple way to approach the improvising. It’s the best I have seen in the UA-cam in this subject. You are a wonderful player and teacher!
I have watch this video over and tried to get hang of the major and minor 2-5-1 and it really expand my understanding. Now one thing I also get from this according to your explanation is that there are many other concepts that I can use to approach it or use depending on what I have learned to put to use.😊😊 😊
Wow thank you Nicolay, it’s so cool to think you are watching my videos in Brazil. I’ve always wanted to go there and see Rio because I fell in love with the tunes Corcovado, Wave and the Girl from Ipanema and I’d love to see the place that those tunes came from. I reach out my hand to shake yours. Really happy that my video is helping you, thank you 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
@@lyndenblades Amazing Lynden, please come to Brazil whenever you have a chance! The country has lots to offer regarding culture and nature. I will keep marathoning your videos and trying to improve my sax game.
Hello from Australia. You're a good communicator, Lynden, and your enthusiasm comes across in your video presentations. I'm in that grey area of improvisation, where I just embellish the melody, hitting the odd key note. My chord analysis is fairly weak, but it's coming along. I enjoy your stuff. Cheers, Chris
Hey Chris and hello from the Uk 🤝🤝🤝 thank you for reaching out and thank you for your feedback 🤩🤩🎷🎷. Well there’s nothing wrong with embellishing the melody at all and my aim is to help you strengthen your ability to understand chords. I think if your major scales are strong then that will help a lot, and if you train yourself to recognise major 251’s easily then that’s very useful. Just keep at it and it will come 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Hi Peter! Thanks for the feedback and I bet Spain is gorgeous, wish I was there! You could play an A minor blues scale or minor pentatonic over the entire chord chart and it mostly fits everywhere. Understanding the chords offers more growth but the blues scale does sound nice too 🇬🇧🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Hello Lyden. All is well known since long time, but I love to watch your videos because your method of teaching help me with my son 😂. And 1 thing really really true: you can spend a life on working on improvong chord tones interpretation. Thx
Fantastic ! Thank you again for another brilliant video . The way you explain everything is so refreshing and easy to understand . Think you have monopolised being ‘real’ ….
Love your teaching and playing. Very Desmondesque. Your use of the KISS principle ( Keep It Simple Stupid ) shows how beautiful melodies can be created without going to extreme measures. BTW, are you using reverb or just delay ? Looking forward learning more from you.
Wow thank you so much, that’s such a nice compliment thank you. I love Desmond’s sound ❤️🎷❤️ And completely agree, keep it simple is great, be awesome at the basics and you can’t really go too far wrong. I just changed my mixer as the old one died (it was really old) and I’m using a little reverb. Thank you so much for your comments and feedback and I hope my tutorials are helpful to you 🤝🤝🎷😎😎
Hi Anthony and thank you so much for your comment and your feedback. I’m currently working toward building a website that will offer courses to people and in all honesty on top of a full time job teaching privately and running a UA-cam channel I’m struggling to make enough time to do it. Having said that I have made a start and your input is very important to me, what would you think would be the most useful and effective things that I could offer on a full course? I have lots of ideas but I’d love to hear what you think 🤝🤝🎷🎷👍👍😎😎
I think what stood out to me about you is your overall attitude towards the subject. You seem to really love it and enjoy doing it and I think that comes out in your playing. Too many of us are not having fun and enjoying life and just the ability to hear and play music. I am a sax player as well. I struggled for years with the chord charts. When I took piano, it changed everything. I could then understand how these tunes are put together. So I think that should definately be in there somewhere. I was wondering how you got into teaching...would like to set people on the right path way so they can be life long music lovers. Thanks again!
Thanks Anthony. I got into teaching, one day I was busking outside a supermarket and a lady came up to me and insisted that I give her son a sax lesson. I’d never taught before so I said no, but she was so insistent that I gave it a go and discovered that I enjoyed it and was able to explain things quite well and it grew from there 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷 I do love playing the sax and sharing my knowledge. Music can be very dry and intimidating so I enjoy trying to share what I know in a way that anyone can relate to. Thank you for your support and feedback 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Thanks!
Kevin thank you so much for this, your support has much more impact than you might imagine 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷
