Thanks for your tremendous posts. Wonderful, I love your stuff. I have recently purchased a TravelSax2 and find it really useful to practice without driving my wife nuts.
Another excellent video Lynden! Your method is very helpful and you start simply and provide good examples of different helpful apps. I like the explanation of how you formed your blues scale… wow. Inspirational is how I would describe your channel. Thanks a million.
@@lyndenbladesjust bought irealpro and set up the 12 bar blues. Simples. Going to get on and practice this. Will buy you a coffee 😊my favourite video so far.

Hello. Yes learning sax improvisation using the blues scales seams to work, and with backing tracks it is really a cool exercice. Hard to stop when you are inspired 😂. Thanks for the video. One day I will have a so beautiful sound that your sound (I hope) ❤.
Great lesson .. weird , yesterday I decided to take a riff around the circle of Fiths after your previous lesson . More or less the riff in this lesson . So will put it together and do exactly as this lesson demonstrates . Great job Lynden . Big thanks .
@lyndenblades fantastic news I love blues and play them a lot. My favourite players are Ben Webster, zoot sims, Stan getz to name a few. I enjoy all your videos you have a great way of explaining things thank you 😊
Really enjoying playing with this video. Quick question - first run through you start D F# A B for the D7 chord. Then C B A F# for the G7. Why the F# not F as G7 doesn't have an F# ? Sorry been bothering me 🙂 Keep up the great videos. GeorgeG.
Very useful. Not sure if I totally understand the blues scale vs the chord progression. Will a D blues scale cover everything or do I still need to switch to the blues scales of the other keys? But great to listen to your enthusiasm and wisdom.
@@janjung5651 hiya, thank you for your feedback 🤝🤝 You can just use the one blues scale in D, on its own without having to use anything else over the whole 12 Bars 👍👍🎷🎷🤝🤝
Thank you again, Lyndon. I have to comment again on your excellent way of teaching imrov. You keep it simple and explain clearly the concept you are going after in each video. After decades away from playing piano or guitar I decided to pick up the sax 3 years ago and improv was high on my list of skills. I get the concept but couldn’t get it buried in my grey matter. I have some excellent improv courses but I end up putting them down after awhile out of frustration so I haven’t really progressed anywhere. When I watch your videos something clicks and I just get it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Do you offer Zoom lessons?
Oh wow, thank you so much Rob, that’s so kind of you to say. Yes I do offer Zoom lessons so drop me an email lynden@saxandhoney.com and we can set something up 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Hi Lynden. Have noticed that your playing the Minor D Blues to a Major Blues backing track on Session Band. Does it matter that it’s Major or Minor backing track? Thanks
Thanks a lot. I understood that I can improvise just under D7 in this sample in spite of have G7 an A7 ? I don’t have to change to G7 in the G7 section?
Hi Pasquale, I don’t know how to do that but I think there is a setting in the settings of a UA-cam video called CC and you have the option to translate. Please let me know if this helps 🎷🎷🤝🤝😎😎 🇮🇹 🇬🇧

Hi Lynden. Have noticed that your playing the Minor D Blues to a Major Blues backing track on Session Band. Does it matter that it’s Major or Minor backing track? Thanks
Hi Gary, the blues scale fits nicely over the blues, the blue note that doesn’t really belong there creates lovely tension 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Thanks a lot. I understood that I can improvise just under D7 in this sample in spite of have G7 an A7 ? I don’t have to change to G7 in the G7 section?
Hi there, you can use a blues scale over all of the chords, yes 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
But it’s important to note the guide tones F#-F in moving to the IV chord, and the C#-C in the V->I chord movement.
Absolutely 👍
