There are also some differences in language.Serbs write both in Cyrillic and Latin alphabet.Croats use Latin only.

The best way to tell croats, serbs and bosniaks apart is that croats are mostly catholic, serbs are mostly orthodox and bosniaks mostly muslim and they're lenguages are the same
Chezc lenguage is very different then of these three but it's still a slavic lenguages so if you speak one you can understand a few things of the other

Yes, Novi Sad and Vojvodina are much different than the rest of the Serbia! Although, having said that, southern Serbia is also different from Belgrade!
But that is charm of every country, to have as much possibly diverse regions and places! That's much more interesting than monoculture!
I could draw some similarities in Croatia that also has regional differences at it's own, although much more profound since we have large number of regions, sub-regions of very specific and different history and culture, climate, mentalities, local accents and dialects...
Also, there are some notable differences even between some cities predominantly in mentality of their citizens, local traditions and so on.

@God's People if you choose to be dumb so be it (even tho I dont think there thesame) but if you knew what serbia did to croatia 30 years ago you whould know why they try to further get themselves away, also if you have learned some history the laguage we speak today is the original language spoken in croatia before Jugoslavija was even a thing but in Jugoslavija (hrvatsko-srpski) croatiano-serbian was spoken as a sad try of removing croatian from existance because it contained like 80% serbian and 20% of croatian language and it got less and less every year, and I do probably know a lil bit more because my generation learnes details that where hidden for the past generations

You forget the two biggest differences! Croatia is catholic, Serbia is eastern orthodox! Coratia has latin script, Serbia has cyrillic!
@Tesla-Effect There is about 15 000 ortodox Croats in Croatia according by the last cenzus. On the other hand there is no one who is "serbian catholic".

In Serbia we tend to say that Croats are 'little Hungarians'. Hence not to be trusted! But that's a stereotype.
Croatian mentality is just weird. Even Serbs from Croatia are sometimes a little weird.
Croatian family units tend to be perceived as more independently separate. Hence a lot of Croatians do not even know their own cousins. Serbs on the other hand are usually part of large groups of sub-families that meet & greet on regular occasions. Croatians also love giving crazy names to their kids, where as Serbs tend to stick to saint names. So you could end up with 5 Serb cousins that have the same first name!
Its also very hard to spot a Croatian abroad. They blend to a point where they don't even use Croatian in public. And since they're diverse looking bunch, it's hard to spot them.. They share quite a lot with Slovenians who are likewise considered weird by Serbs from Serbia... And don't even get me started on the whole LGBT sub culture. Croatians are far more confident about their identity than Serbs. The scene in Croatia is quite open, where as in Serbia it's still very much an 'underground thing'.
I loved Croatia but never been to Serbia so it was great to see that!
I am Greek-American and have good friends from both countries. In my opinion, there are many more similarities than differences between Croatia and Serbia. How I wish they could have faced DREAM TEAM 1 in 1992 together! I believe their present and future is one of mutual respect, cheers!

You forgot the most important diference. Croats are Catholic and Serbs are Orthodox. That is most likely why we arent the same contry anymore, unfortunately.

We are just trying to be nice to other nations, only in different ways, in Croatia they will take you to some expensive restaurant to eat fish, but in Serbia we will take you to a nightclub to get drunk, and then, when a Croat sees how we have a good time, he will join in and stop behaving like an Austrian or a German🤮

Idc how butthurt anyone gets by this: I'm Croat and even my grandparents taught me that Serbs & Croats & BOSNIANS & BOSNIAKS are all brothers and sisters.
I have friends of 100% Serbian and 100% Bosniak blood, who both accept me as a Croatian as not only their friends but their sister and that we are all slavs together.
It is not so different in reality. Depends who you meet. We all understand each other perfectly when we speak, we want the same things in life, we cannot be responsible for what countrymen generations before us have decided to do for or against each other.
Last I was back in Croatia was 2020 and nobody, even plenty of older people, can be bothered to say something like "No, I'm CROATIAN/SERBIAN/BOSNIAN, DON'T LUMP ME IN WITH YOU!". So many people are just over that and have moved on. Like damn let's have a drink.

Unfortunately, we are not the same! We have different history...if you look at serbian and croatian language in 14-15th ceuntry they are completely different languages.Our language developed similair later on.

I am Croatian, Im not nationalist, I have many Serbian friends, but how can you say that Croats and Serbs are same people, same culture etc? sooo wrong, not same people, not same blood and certainly not brothers LOL, so much misinformation, totally different history, except when they occupied Croatia since 1918 and then again 1945. until 1991. why dont you go to Serbia, or go to Croatia, but dont look for similarities and differences, you can then compare the two with any other nations, there are similarities and differences with every neighbouring country. plesae leave us out of comparisons with Serbia. The country was under Turks for 5 centuries!! You have no clue.
