Great video keep them coming, you’re an inspiration to the younger generation to get off the Xbox and get outdoors. I show them to my grandson but he’s not convinced yet.
It's great to see a new face inspiring people to get outdoors whatever the weather. Once you know that you can survive comfortably with just what you can carry on your back, it gives you great confidence in future life, and puts all the nonsense around having to have big houses filled with unnecessary stuff into perspective! I hope you can grow your channel, good luck.
An excellent video showing its good just to get out inspite of the weather..I agree about the sound of rain on the tent, so so relaxing. Many thanks and best wishes.
I was in exactly that spot overnight just before Xmas but the weather was brutal. It was the only spot I could find that was not flooded. For the boil in the bag, just fold it as much as possible and then top up with water, then bring it to the boil and the turn down the heat and simmer for about 8 minutes. I use it as a hot water bottle inside my jacket then eat it.
I'd agree the variety of your exploits is driving the popularity of the channel. (You just passed 900 subscribers, roll on 1000!!) Your position by the river, and melody of rain fall on the tent canvas (ok nylon nowadays!) Comes through on the video and relaxes the spirit. I'm sure you slept well😊. If you'd returned here next month you could have ventured a rod on the river to catch a salmon or trout. Dinner solved!! Sadly I think some grumpy river baillifs would have come and had words😡 The train in the morning was the Caledonian sleeper from Euston, bound for Fort William. Luxury travel I believe, oh well, one day perhaps🙂!
So good to see the river and mountains so near, and the relaxing sound of the rain. A real inspirational video. When I started out walking, I would of loved to see a video like this. Maybe a run down video, or list of the equipment you take would help many others starting out? For example, how do you navigate?
Love your content mate , a credit to yourself and your parents , kinda remind me of myself when younger accept I was fishing in the hills all the time . ( im gonna show my 15yr old your vids , might inspire him to get off ps5 )!
@@ScottishSummiteer your very welcome . I’m not sure how far up north you’ve come , but the lochs up Ben dearg on route to Ullapool I first spent 3 days at when 17 . I loved the solitude then , and still do now . I only fish for pike and but for a very very small few the hill lochs up as high as u go tend to only have small brown trout in them . Mayb try taking a small telescopic rod and catch and cook a trout on your travels up high … better than dehydrated meals !!! Ha
Camped at the same spot many moons ago while doing the West Highland Way. Torturous sleepless night with wind and rain. A vole gnawed through the tents footprint. 😂 Camping food packs are way too expensive for what they are, but I've never come to any conclusion on the best food to take on a trip. A bit like finding the best pillow.🤔
Yeh I’ve heard it’s a good spot for the west highland way, I’m sure I’ll end up camping there when I do it. I’m still undecided on the food aswell. I find the sea to summit pillow to be pretty good though and really lightweight
Still not keen on the food pouches tbh🤢😂😂 I know they serve a propose but can’t beat a proper meal at camp can create a lot with a we bit extra weight but as long as your out who cares 😂
I agree , the price of one meal in pouch, you can have breaki ,lunch, dinner & supper 😂. The girl men can't handle the thought of a few hundred grams more in weight for proper healthy wholesome food has!
A dehydrated meal is powder. Did the west highland way long ago using a Wild Country Mistrel tent whcih was later flattened in the cairngorms in 80mph forcast winds. My 3 season tent is a Hilleberg Anjan 2 which is a tunnel like yours. The fabric is quite taut once guylines tensioned, yours look slack.

Thanks for the kind words. I’m sure he’ll come around eventually😂😂
Quality 👍🏽

100% agree mate, I’ll take experiences over things any day of the week

Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed
Another little gem, doesn't need to be an epic to be enjoyable, good little content and always good to see what you're munching on 😅 thank you.
Yeh 100%. The chill ones are just as enjoyable
Great campsite. Lovely scenery. Thanks for the post M8, cheers, John.
Thanks mate🙏

Yeh was a really peaceful camp. I’ve always thought the train journey would be nice, I’m sure I’ll do it someday but I’ll stick to walking for now😂😂

Thanks Mike. Yeh that’s probably a good idea, I’m the same when I started I watched other people for advice
Was getting jealous of how often you get out so I finally made the time and went up to Abyssinia Bothy yesterday and it was worth getting soaked for.
Good stuff mate, glad to hear it

shame about the rain mate but at least you still got out to a stunning place
Yeh 100% mate makes you appreciate the good weather even more
Have u ever been to Loch Arkaig?
Nah not been there yet. How come?
Still not keen on the food pouches tbh🤢😂😂 I know they serve a propose but can’t beat a proper meal at camp can create a lot with a we bit extra weight but as long as your out who cares 😂
Way too over expensive for me, would rather create my own MREs

Yeh I think I agree tbh, they don’t taste that great. It’s mainly just for convenience but as you said doesn’t really matter as long as you get out
