    How dare people in the comment section. Cameron is a superstar and this book is a gift to us. The lack of gratitude and readiness to focus on a soundbite to discredit her contributions is ridiculous especially from women. Oh she's not a doctor blah blah blah --so what? She does not claim she is. The information in her book is factual and sourced through scholarship and research. I say most people are unknowingly jealous that she is gorgeous and not 2-dimensional as you hope she would be. You can be an A-lister, beautiful, joyous, have a tremendous sense of humor and take interest in science. Thank you Cameron Diaz for everything you have given to us: great movies, insightful interviews and health awareness via your books.

    They aren’t interested in how she feels, if she feels young, old, fine or bad. They are interested in how she looks. Our society values youth and 40 and older is not young-looking, even if you look very attractive. We need to change this paradigm, it makes a lot of people feel bad and it is really superficial and sexist, because it is with women that they use it the most.

    Awesome woman!
    The only thing I have against her is that I wish she hadn’t retired, because she would’ve been the person to show a woman continuing to be a MEGA star in Hollywood and continue to play great roles like Charlize.

    What Cameron is doing is sending inconsistent messages when she affirmed that "I think every woman does want to be objectified". If women desire to be objectified then they should know that they will be considered less appreciated and valued as they lose their youthful beauty as they grow older. I agree with Cameron that it up to us how society see us as we grow older, but we have to start to send consistent messages of what we want and start to value us as a whole - body, mind, and soul.

    There was a time when she said that "I think every woman does want to be objectified." So she really loves doing generalizations. The problem with objectification is that once you start to look that old, the same people who once valued your beautiful appereance, now treat with like disposable trash. That is what Hollywood is doing to actresses who were seen as sexy symbols when they were 25 years old but didn't maintain their youthful appearance. It sad but now, she is tasting the same poison that she once spit it out.

      hol be well it is easy to think that way when you are young and haven't grown into yourself. With age/experience/wisdom your opinions change.

      sara, what do you mean when you say that she wasn't wrong thought? You know, not all women want to be objectified!
      Senorita Aurora, she wasn't young when she said: "I think every woman does want to be objectified. She said that in 2012 and she was forty at that time.

    Why does the speaker need to plow in with a man hating speech when this is supposed to be a discussion around ageing well? We are all human and we all age. You do not have to disempower me to empower yourself. I am a feminist too... and if all humans do not unite to protect the planet then humans and all other species on this planet are condemned. Please don’t divide us people 🙏🏻

    Why wouldn't be happy at 18? Shut up! Do you know how many kids start to use drugs and have all kind of problems at that age? Just because you didn't have problems , doesn't mean that others don't have too. Stop talking in the name of all women.

    • @holbe7575
      @holbe7575 7 років тому +4

      Cameron is talking like it is a weirdness not being happy at 18 years old when she poses the question"Why wouldn't be happy at 18?" There are many people who weren't and are not happy at 18 old years. These studies are not Universal and adolescence is known as a very problematic period. Many people who have or had drug problems are not idiots and came from normal families. There are many reasons why adolescents do drugs but the feeling of inadequacy, the desire to fit in and the need to experience new things are the most common reasons.
