  • On this episode of Finish Friday, Amy concludes the 2-part series on techniques for weathering and aging wood pieces. In Part 1, Amy showed off some gorgeous pieces that were treated with Amy Howard at Home Better With Age solution and Venetian Plaster, finishing with Cerusing Wax to add a nice sheen. In Part 2 this week, Amy is talking about adding layers to finishes with tools and plaster, using stencils, and treating a piece of furniture that has already been stained.

Can you apply this to a painted piece to make it look old and “been thru “ several owners? Example, I have been looking into old doors, old doors that have several layers of paint in various stages of flaking off... you know all the good stuff. They are in the thousands. I thought 🤔, I wonder, could I replicate that look on a new door that has started out white. Thank you, god bless,
FYI, I have asked several questions about various objects... my home ( although I’m grateful),is in need of everything in every room

Thank you for helping me realize the finish needs to be done the same day. You said the temperature, how you feel, the flow. Definitely there is a difference day to day. ❤. You truly are a teacher and an artist!

If you don’t want to strip furniture but paint it with chalk paint or milk paint can you use your plaster colored with your milk paint using stencil apply on the chalk or milk painted-furniture.
