- Real men might buy sawmills if they’re smart! It’s a lot of work, but very rewarding to make a living with a tool you build yourself. I give a little garden tour, and a camper van update too. Thanks for following me along!
Blessings to y’all! Jeff.
Jeff, this is such a bad ass build. I remember watching a handful of videos on your build when I was first considering building my own. It's a killer machine and I know it's served you well. I'm just about finished with my mill and your videos played a big part in motivating me to knock mine out. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tour, really impressive Jeff. I finally got to use my double hard Woodmizer blades last evening and was very impressed they cut very well and seem to last. Have a great rest of the week.
Nice job on your mill. Enjoyed hearing how you made it. We had a Norwood LM29 we used for years to build our homestead. About that size but couldn’t do what yours does. We did upgrade to a Woodmizer recently and it’s nice. We are going to do some channel shouts soon and want to add yours in the mix.
Richard
Thank you, Mrs Log Father, for taking time from your pickleball to do the filming.
She plays today and volunteering tomorrow in a national tournament in Halifax… she’s got the pickleball bug bad!
Love your mill. It's a beast compared to ours. We bought ours in 2021 and paid way too much! But even so it has more than paid for itself. Maybe one day Jason will have time to build one. Very cool Jeff, thanks for sharing ✌️🇨🇦
You are gifted with sarcasm.
I remember watching the sawmill build videos. It was kind of exciting waiting for the next one, and then finally getting to see the mill in action
Most people don't know that MacGyver learned everything he knows from Jeff.
Excellent video. It appears you are an able carpenter as well.
I also noticed you may prefer STIHL bar and chain oil...
Very enjoyable viewing sir...
The first band saw mill I ever saw, before woodmizer started was home made using wheelbarrow tires by a college chum of mine inthe 1970s.
Nice Video Jeff !
Let me know when your guard dog is in the house !!
I'll come and load up my truck with fuel jugs !
Maybe it's not necessary for the watch dog to be in the house... he might just WATCH me load up !! LOL😊
He’ll help you load them up! 😂
I took a transport load of batteries out of the states and delivered to a sticker factory in Mississauga Ontario that added the stickers for Canadian Tire.. the difference was the sticker
Same case same guts different label.
Great video. Nice job. 👍🏻
Nice mill I enjoy seeing homemade mills. During covid I built my own mill to cut up to 48" I am rebuilding now to make it portable on a 30 ft trailer from an old camper. I built this mill with scrap metal I found on Facebook marketplace and a 22 hp motor from Habor freight. I started a UA-cam channel myself with my daughters help. I may have to take a few ideas from you. Thanks for the info. >
Take any ideas you like! And if I can help- reach out.
thanks
Great video that showcases your mill. 😎👍
Thanks 👍
Awesome. My cucumbers are growing wild this year too. Hard to believe its past the middle of August already!
The summers go by soooo fast!
Very true! Real men have their wives buy sawmills for them! I'm always impressed with your mill, I like my Viel well enough but it is a bit small at times with the size of logs I have access to through my contacts and contracts. Did you swap cameras btw? The colors look good, so does the garden! We haven't had much luck with our garden this year. Nature's driving the show and we're along for the ride each year. Thanks for the tour!
Very true!
Thanks for the video, thumbs up
Would you be willing to put together a parts list and plans for building a like sawmill? It would be something I would be willing to pay for.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for that- I wouldn’t have a clue where to start! If I were to do it all over again, I’d probably use Linn Lumber’s plan to the letter. It’s readily available and it comes with a dvd to help with a few tricky bits.
Time for a road trip.
I had wondered how your carriage was driven.
I will watch this after but real men maybe don't buy little home version rock crushers either but barter with nice guys with ability to create one.
That’s what it’s all about!
@thelogfather5002 it's way past time I got a little welder and learned how to weld and fix stuff and create things as well.
You’ll be so glad you did!
