The Queen's matching coats and hats in beautiful bright colors are more fashionable to me, than anything on the fashion runway. I've always loved her style. My mother would dress me in matching hats and coats, with dresses, when I was a girl.
The queen is the only person who could literally wear lime green and make it look good. She famously remarked once she was certain no one would recognise her if she didn’t wear bright colours

That's true, her protection officer recalls a story of when they were walking in the grounds of Balmoral she was dressed in tweed and was wearing a headscarf. When a group of American tourists not recognising who it was asked her if she had ever met the Queen, to which the Queen replied "No" and pointing at her protection officer she said "But he has."

I would say in her later years she set trends. She did not go by what was in fashion in the 90s, 2000s and 2010s. She wore what felt comfortable to her. And that was a fashion trend that was right for her.

I also loved “brooch spotting” which was sometimes challenging when she was wearing a print. I wish the other royal ladies wore them. It’s sad to think of all of them locked up in a vault. I did notice that the Princess of Wales wore a pearl and diamond leaf brooch that had belonged to the Queen at the ceremony when the Queen’s coffin was brought to Westminster Palace though.

The Queen had her own style
I heard that designers were eager to dress her to the nines in her younger years, but she always demurred from going too flashy, (to their frustration), as she felt it was not the right image for her role.
Her sister Princess Margaret was free to dress fashionably, and enjoyed doing so, and gave us some iconic looks back in her day.
Would have loved to see Queen Elizabeth in the best fashions of the times, but I can u understand her reasons not to, and respect that. She always put duty over her own personal whims n desires, and that is an admirable trait that is uncommon today.
She still was able to establish her own unique personal style within what she deemed appropriate n suitable for her role in society, and will always be remembered and recognized for that modest yet bright n tasteful image.

No matter what the “gossips “ , tabloids are saying about AK, I think Angela Kelly did marvellous stuff , creating elegant designs , fabrics and overall in the presentation of our wonderful Queen. The years in between the retirement of Norman Hartnell and his beautiful gowns and tailored suits , coats and frocks and the onset of AK , were long and rather “fallow “ years . Whilst fashion is not the important matter here , presentation is and thank goodness there was an end to those awful prints, baggy coats , shapeless suits and jackets , frightful “unconstructed “ hats and some truly hideous gowns , eg that harlequin effort ! The Queen , whom was very much a lady so very without vanity , completely devoid of vanity . Just by dint of HM’s exemplary character and devotion to duty , HM was most worthy of being beautifully dressed and presented . In my opinion.
I have never seen the Oueen in a pants or her dresses above her knees . And that is how I was raised to wear my dresses below my knees and no pants on me.
I wonder if another reason for her wearing brighter colors in later years was the rise of TV news coverage. Bright jewel-tone colors, like magenta and lime green, show up better on cameras(that's why so many news anchors wear uniform, jewel tone, outfits on camera).

Queen Elizabeth 2 are very strict as a queen I hope that her son King Charles 3 will not be too hard as a king like his mother Elisabeth is that he will create aid for the United Kingdom such as increasing unemployment and the pension. 😢
