Wow wee, what an amazing historical building and home. My first time seeing typical, old world Colombian architecture, it's quite stunning. That gorgeous elevated, carved ceiling, and all the beautiful little atriums and balconies. What a labour of love, and fab restoration and refurbishment!
How fortunate that this house fell to Richard. He has taken such care to make it tell the story in a way that honors its history. This is just amazing.

I visited Cartagena some year ago and I can assure viewers it is one of the most beautiful cities anywhere. The restoration work and the maintenance of old buildings is an example for the world.
Exquisite home. I love the white walls. I’ve always added color in art, rugs, accessories. That way you can change whenever you want without a major redo. The woodwork and doors are exquisite and standardization in fixtures perfect. Very lovely

My new favourite home !! So inspiring! LOVE!! I’m decorating my new home in humid Singapore (extra humid as I’m right by the sea on a small island here !) and I’m so Glad that Richard has practical advice about not having expensive original painting in such climate condition! I was feeling gutted that I couldn’t have that, but Richard is so right ! Art doesn’t necessarily need to be expensive original to be beautiful ! I also realised more than ever the importance of a Home (not just a “house “) now that we are all in “lock down” and not able to travel. Stay safe everyone! Love from Singapore!

What a beautiful home. I know Cartagena quite well and have been about four times (during my time when I worked on cruise ships) I love the colors. That yellow of the facade is gorgeous. The interiors are so beautiful. OMG, I want to buy an appartment there now too. Simply gorgeous.

Another winner from Susanna, Stacey, and Richard Mishaan! Really interesting to learn about how the environment and historical guidelines controlled what could be done with the house and what is inside the house and how there are so few materials inside. Too it's new to me to see how a private home is influenced by hotels.---Great observation from Mr. Mishanna: how those old-fashioned closet doors when whitewashed are "...modern in the geometry of them...". What a great touch to have Bart Simpson there and even in a cultural, historical context.. Aboard the Queen Mary (the new one, not the one in Long Beach) there is a mural or engraved glass panel and among the images and details is Homer Simpson! I read that the management was not amused but I think Homer is there to stay. I hope Bart and Homer are both enjoying their homes!

Stunning, I live near Cartagena in Murcia Spain the architecture is very similar, the doors are fantastic and I’m in love with the plaster and colours

Another great visit to a fantastic place, and an escape from the mundane. Bart Simpson, snuggled in with the museum pieces. LOL. Such whimsy reflects the personality of the homeowner...he knows it will bring a smile to the observant. I'm sure there are guests who might go three days before noticing...or not at all.

This home tour is sooo delicious to watch. I love the colours on the walls and doors. I love that idea of painting an indoor door in Chinese red as an identifier for the next room. I will copy this idea. I have chinoiserie in our home, so that would blend right in. Thank you.
