I think this renovation turned out beautifully no matter what design style it is. Hopefully it will be a home passed down through generations of family
That is absolutely stunning. I can see why you would want to get out of the city. I raised my children in the country and I wouldn’t of change that for anything. They went to A smaller school, but it very supportive town. It was amazing.
I dont usually like or comment on h &h videos but I had to for this one. Absolutely stunning. This house is a breath of fresh air, calm and serenity. I would have loved to see more of the exterior though as the owner mentioned a hot tub. But overall so beautiful.
Europe is a very large place with a diverse range of cultures, styles and architecture. Being from the UK I can’t see the EU influence? Looks like an American rural home
What a stunning transformation and beautiful property! 🤍It's like my lifelong dream to own a cottage in Muskoka 😄, and this home Parris has created is on another level 🏆
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous! Love all the finishes and those kitchen gas wall sconces are unique! Love that! I don’t blame her at all for not wanting to rent this out ! Beautiful!
Egypt is not a European country, besides doors like that were not common two hundred years ago. But… This is a wonderful home! Being from Europe I must say that the American details make this house so incredible. I love it! This is the nicest place I’ve seen on this channel so far.
What an intelligent and creative renovation! It's smart looking but perfectly anchored with so many warm touches, which are also practical. It has personality without feeling contrived. I LOVE the kitchen --and I am not typically a gaga kitchen admirer!
Don’t get mad at me, but I know a whole lot of people are tired of neutral, but I love neutral colors and a home makes the home feel vibrant, especially when the sun and natural light is blaring in😊 this is my style of home especially the kitchen 🧡
I’m currently in the process of doing my home almost exactly like this. I love the warm colors that you’ve used in it. I was wondering why you went with cream colored sofas instead of maybe a green velvet or something like that. I truly wanna know your thought behind this. Cause I’m in the process of figuring out what colors to go with. Was originally thinking creams and off-white and using accent pillows and blankets to pop color. But I’m falling in love with some rich olive green couches or even a deep amber color. I don’t know what is your thought?
Love the design even if I am admittedly confused by the term European cottage. But maybe that is because I am from Europe and to me the styles and cultures here are so different, maybe it's something that makes more sense from the outside looking in (?)
The place looks great, but I don't really catch the European cottage vibe, except possibly for the Italian porcelain mudroom floors. The very best idea is the bathing suit drying station.
This cottage was done so well. It's a beautiful property. I think the paper towel holder being hidden was a great idea. Being from Florida most swamps are stagnant and contain alligators. Lol. But hers sounds more like a pond. I'll bet the sound of that stream is incredibly relaxing. They did a great job at remodeling this cottage.
Have Northern Americans an idea of what European houses are like? Well, first of all a British house is completely different from an Italian one, so not sure about how there can be an European style. Also, as an European, this looks so Northern American to me!
The property has stunning views and I can only imagine how lovely the brook sounds throughout different seasons. The house is also open and airy yet with the wooden ceilings and floors I imagine it must be nice and warm, which is much needed for most of the year in Canada
It’s a beautiful home. It’s light & airy without it just being just plain white. I’m not exactly sure what the design style or aesthetic is but I guess European applies. It looks like a lot thought & planning when into the design. I hope the family is enjoying it.
A very nice renovation. The appelation of ‘cottage’ really isn’t correct. This is anything but a cottage, which originally meant a hut, or a humble dwelling. Nowadays the word ‘cottage’ is used to describe a small, independant dwelling and certainly not a house where all the walls have been knocked down. This is so pretentious, trying to label something which it is not. Embrace what you have done, a modern renovation of a building in a superb location. You have certainly not obtained a ‘cottage’ in your efforts.
You need to understand the term in context. Americans aren't using the term literally. They have a set of styles with names like 'Spanish colonial' or 'European cottage'. They are American styles though, they aren't trying to replicate literally.
Agree with smoath, it's a way to say that it's not "American" but rather "old world". When you think of countries that influence the style, you're gonna look at Scotland, England, Germany, and other Norse cultures rather than the Mediterranean countries. But even old French and Italian country homes have similar elements, so it's just an amalgamation of all of them.
There is no such thing as European cottage or style... Maybe an English cottage, but these are pretty small? People do not live in cottages here, they live in houses, mostly made of stone and they only have one house and not an additional one in the countryside or in the city. Its like French Provincial or stuff like that, totally made up design nonsense. People in Europe do not have the same style, Icelandic people live totally different from these in Turkey or Luxemburg! Also : they do not live in huge places like that.Europe is a very crowded place, we dont have space for mansions or kitchens like that. The house is a typical Northern Amercian mansion if you ask me..Having said that: I like the house!
What a judgemental opinionated lead of garbage. Of course homes are different from Turkey to Luxemburg. Two totally different cultures. Most consider Turkey middle eastern. The size does make it less of a cottage feel - America defines words differently. Cottage = cozy, relaxed. I lover her home, the space is full of beauty and a ton of love. Stunning. A beautiful balance of her lifestyle, and nature. Very accommodating to her family but to guests. So many memories to be made in such a place. I would leap at a chance to raise my family in such a place. A total blessing for her family. Beautiful design and choices in decor. Well done.😊
This looks nothing like European style, because there's no such thing as European style 😅 Europe is not one country. That's a very uneducated thing to say
You're assuming what is meant by the term. You're insisting that it's literal. It isn't. Americans need names for variations in styles, don't take those names too literally.
I hate to burst your bubble but this is not anything like a European cottage! Not quite sure what you mean by that as European takes in many countries of different style but if you are talking French or British then NOPE. Italian and Spanish use terracotta stone floors and not grey flagstone
I love the simplicity and the earthy tones. I love it.
I think this renovation turned out beautifully no matter what design style it is. Hopefully it will be a home passed down through generations of family
Oh my goodness, the owner is absolutely brilliant! Thanks for sharing with us. May they enjoy every moment in their cottage home!
Beautiful setting and design. I love that it doesn't look like every other cottage and makes a unique and comfortable statement.
That is absolutely stunning. I can see why you would want to get out of the city. I raised my children in the country and I wouldn’t of change that for anything. They went to A smaller school, but it very supportive town. It was amazing.
While not my style, I think it’s refreshing to see a house with a slightly different approach. It’s homey. I like the exterior.
BEAUTIFUL! Cozy and exceptionally well thought out.
This is a difficult age of house to re-envision. Your design is a triumph of clarity and restraint . Wow! Thank you!
Beautiful: every detail is considered and well executed. Gorgeous home!
Beautiful ❤ I especially love and appreciate the television NOT being the focal point of the room.
Love everything about this remodel!! Brilliant use of space and functionality while being beautiful too!
What a beautiful transformation! Kudos to the owner/designer on creating this warm and inviting home.
I dont usually like or comment on h &h videos but I had to for this one. Absolutely stunning. This house is a breath of fresh air, calm and serenity. I would have loved to see more of the exterior though as the owner mentioned a hot tub. But overall so beautiful.
This home truly exudes charm and sophistication in every room.
The before picture of the bathroom was interesting. 😳 The new bathroom is beautiful.
This home is so beautiful! Love those green chairs in the living room.
What an absolutely Exquisite home.
So gorgeous. Love the design details.
Beautiful, thoughtful renovation!
Its really nice design. Thanks for your video.
Greetings from Nha Trang City, Vietnam
I too wish to visit her amazingly breathtakingly beautiful home...❤
This space is just dreamy
Incredible work! The lighting is perfect
Love this! Beautiful but has a cozy feel.
Love it! Such a magical part of Ontario.
I was hoping to see your Muskoka home, it is absolute perfection, felt very English country feel 🥰
Pleasant and calming and well-built. I can’t really love it anymore than that. I find it a bit dull.
Phenomenal!!,😊

This is one of the most beautiful, well-designed homes I've ever seen! It must be an absolute joy to live there. Thank you for the wonderful tour! 😊

Where can I find the list of materials ,furniture, light fixtures etc that are in this home. Beautiful!!
I am from Europe, and I do not understand what European style means.
Doesn't look French, does not look Germanic. What do you mean by European?
What type of stone veneer did you use? It’s beautiful.
Beautiful design thank you for sharing
Beautiful. This is the home that makes the homes of billionaires look gaudy and cheap.
The bathing suit drying area is incredible! Nice bar area! Beautifully designed cottage! ❤
I’m going to watch this at least 17 times… and then maybe another 17 times… bravo!!!
still dont understand the appeal of muskoka when the ocean exists. but i like the green velvet chairs.
absolutely perfect in every way
😍

Ugh the kitchen. Perfection
Beautiful. Love that it's year-round. Really paradise.

Love love love it. So elegant and cozy. Love the gas sconces in the kitchen!!!
It’s all very lovely, but feels more PNW or Colorado to me than European.
I don’t know about it looking like a cottage in Europe but I absolutely love it!
قمة الذوق والأناقة
"ألا بذكر الله تطمئن القلوب'
What a special place to live in and be able to share with others.
Integrated paper towel holder is a must in my house that I am building
I love all her choices, it looks timeless 😍
Not sure about the European cottage look but it’s beautifully designed and executed!!
Elegance with simplicity…❤
Beautiful! ❤

Incredibly dark space after reno. I don't get the choice of ceiling...
Beautiful ❤👏👏👏

Wow!!!!!!! Just wow!!!!!!!
What material and stain did you use for the ceiling ? (PLEASE PLEASE)
Such beautiful surroundings 😊 and the home compliments it
Perfection!
I wonder what the cost of this home is?
So much most people won’t be able to afford it after 3 lifetimes. So beautiful and probably worth every penny or 10 million dollars 😅
Millions depending on the location.
@@jeffc9119 yeah they off the water so it’s a lot
It looks so peaceful.

Masterpiece🎉🎉🎉
I don’t understand ‘European Cottage’ aesthetic? Europe is a huge continent, so which country are we talking about? Germany, Spain or Italy?
It’s European. Like from Europe. It’s fancy over there.
Lolll you’re not understanding!!! That’s like saying what’s “American style living”! I guess those who get it get it!
And she says the kitchen doors are from Egypt!!!!!😂😂😂😂

@@janemarion6929 Are you her mother?
200 years from egypt you say? 🤔
Very nicely done. You must be super rich lol.
So beautiful
😂😂😂 those doors are not from Egypt! 😂😂😂😂
It’s really pretty. But it doesn’t look European cottage at all, rather McGee style.
This is very instagram influenced.
I really think North Americans do not understand the correct meaning of the word 'cottage'. Or 'European'. 🤦🏻♀
WOW!
great use of space
The fireplace 😮 gorgeous.
I think the preponderance of stone and wood and the beautiful fireplace surround. What style would you assign to it if not seeming “European”?
I agree that the wood details are more refined than rustic, but the stone is very Adirondack style or even Western Ranch
What is European about this?
This looks nothing like European style, because there's no such thing as European style 😅 Europe is not one country. That's a very uneducated thing to say
Yeah, I have absolutely no clue what about this interior is supposed to be European. I'd say this style is quite specific to North American designers.
they seem to have a fixation with the so-called European style....it is absolutely north american!
You're assuming what is meant by the term. You're insisting that it's literal. It isn't. Americans need names for variations in styles, don't take those names too literally.

Thank you! I hate how Americans make a mockery of European / old world architectural styles.
You should change careers since you’re the expert omg
@@ElizabethE1267oh sure make it an American issue and not the profession. She’s trained by the way are you
Cottage? 😅
Using the term “European” is almost as bad than the term “North American.” So ignorant.
