Although too much neutral isn’t my style, I felt a calming and comforting sense as you reviewed Jake Arnold’s book. He certainly is very talented and creative. The laser engraver and its capabilities was interesting; amazing to see all the innovations out there! Yes- I'm going forward with the needed repairs. Hopefully it will be finished this month and then I'll have it upholstered. As far as Jake Arnold, I didn't think I would like this book. but he won me over!

This book is quit interesting. As you thumb through the book in general I noticed masculinity. It’s beautiful and kind of a rough chunky textured brown look. There’s definitely some elements in his design that I could use in my own home

Lovely sofas, beautiful spaces… I’m not a fan of tone on tone ( monochromatic design ) but his designs are lovely .. Thanks Vickey- in an earlier reply I mentioned that I had given the "go ahead" on the restoration and hoped I wouldn't have to resort to eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a month to pay for it. Then I immediately had a craving for a PBJ! 🤣

I can relate to not everyone being excited about all the book purchases. I try to buy many books used or wait for them to be discounted. My family often supplies me with gift cards to my local book stores and I will get calls from used book stores when a design book comes in. I once found a $100 bill in a used book and saw that as a gift from the universe.😆
It could be worse...I just recently saw a movie about adults who collected Beanie Babies. I was dumbfounded (but, to each his own), so cheers to your book collection! Also, thanks for your early and continued support of the channel.

I love color as well, but appreciated his insight into the psychology of surroundings that calm and sooth. I thought this book would not be to my liking, but his designs were interesting and rather lovely.

I think you found the perfect furniture restorer! One look at his workshop and I knew this was your man!! I was shocked, but by the end of the book I was a fan of Jake Arnold's designs. They are definitely calming to the eye. Yes, the laser is a little addictive. I was looking around the house for all kinds of things to engrave.
