Yaay! The QY-10...my sequencer's first love way waay back before I got my hands on Cakewalk 3.0 Had a QY-100 once, but I eventually let it go...and kept the QY-10!!!
@@StephanesCreativeBasement Yes my friend, I recall that I whipped up some funky tunes too to jam along with my bass...although the files aren't there anymore...I think I can manage to re-make some.
@@StephanesCreativeBasement BTW, loove your Synthwave tunes, I subscribed immediately! Brings back many memories from the awesome 80s...how lucky we are to have been brought up in those wonderful times eh? Even my son envies me...heheh! Cheers mate!
Thanks man ! It’s very appreciated. I will release a whole bunch of new tracks on October 2nd btw. - And yes, I feel VERY lucky to have been there around these very exciting times, 80s and 90s !!
First i must say you make me buy a qy10! Secondly and unfortuately my qy10 has a problem with pattern saving. After changing the pattern, the voice assignement for the track is not saved… Why…? Is that supposed to be that way…? Thank you for any support and for your passion!
Hi Francesco ! It’s been a while since I worked with patterns - I’ll check this out later today and I’ll get back to you. Though I think because the QY10 is a very old machine, it’s probably set this way.
Francesco, yes it’s normal (and a bummer I guess!). Voices that are assigned in pattern mode cannot be changed, even if you copy them in a new program or a song. The way I work with the QY10 now is that I create my own patterns (in song mode). I always use tracks 1 to 4 (they’re also MIDI assigned to channel 1 to 4). so I can use sounds in the sequencer or go out and trigger something else (synth, drum machine...) Also, the voices you choose will be save into memory. - Using this sequencer today has its limitations but this is the beauty of it imo ! - Though, if I really wanted to use the patterns with different voices, my solution would be to sample them on the spot (Logic, cassette tape, sampler...) and then organize everything in a DAW. This could generate a lot of sick new ideas ! Hope this could help ! Have a great evening !
@@StephanesCreativeBasement ok I'll try to advance to the next step: the song mode. But it's a little bit strange that for custom patterns everytime I create a new one the machine saves all the settings but not the voice. In fact it reset every time to the same combination: c1: SynComp, c2: Slappbass, c3: Syn Bass and the RT with the drum kit. But at least my machine is not broken or flat on internal battery. Thank you for helping a noob from the noob itself. 🙏
You were kind and helped me. And now I will grant three wishes for you ... no not really. But I'll share the solution (given to me from another smart youtube guy, Master of the QY10) knowing you'll make great use of it. 1. Change the voice on a track 2. press PATT 3. press MENU 4. press Utl (yellow button right) 5. press Str (yellow button right) Do this for all tracks separately. You can only save (Str -Storage) in User Pattern. Thanks thanks thanks for your kindness and and keep pushing the style out of dusty old beautiful gears. Gratings!
Thanks ! Real 1988 VHS camcorder and an old (and cheap) Nikon D3100 (then, post-prod). This Nikon though (1080 24p), the film look is very good. Thank you for watching !
Nice of you to share your process in such a beautiful way. And I love the italo vibes you've got going here!
This is so great reminds me of onras "nobody has to know" album. I also like the retro editing of the footage

So cool that you still have it !! Very handy for triggering things when working with no computer

I also have a Kaossilator. How are you using it? Are you sampling loops of your performances just to get ideas down? Thanks. Love the music!
Yes, I do. Sometimes it’s just for sampling but a lot of the time I use it as a looper.

Hey man! Does your 3000xl have an fx board? If so do you find it useful? I have a chance to pick one up but no fx board.
No it don’t. Would be cool but I have to say that the filter alone do the trick for me !! I use some reverb (outboard gear) and voilà !
