I've said it before and I'll say it again.. Mick is the best I've come across in the last 20yrs, he has been replicated by certain well know instructors but never bettered. When he talks listen... You might just learn something pragmatic.
I have a question about dealing with pain. Is there any mental technique that you can apply when you're hurt in a fight? For example saying stuff like "don't give up, fight!" to yourself is helpful? Is there any way of ignoring pain? Maybe focusing on winning the fight and not on the pain itself?
I agree that your focus should be in general on knocking his face in and not much else. Regarding pain I remind myself that I'm going to loose if I start getting all defensive. I also expect the first few punches to feel like I've been hit with a hammer and its truly horrible, but after that because I'm so scared the adrenaline kicks in and I don't feel much pain. To quote mick on being defensive "Nobody wins a football match by defending". So I'd say that if you are getting defensive because of pain, remind yourself that unless you are attacking you are going to loose. So for me its fear that drives me, I'm going to soon be in a lot more pain if I don't ignore the current pain and smash his face in. Also if I'm in a fight it's a pretty safe bet that I'm going to end up bashed up, so with knowing that in advance at least I'm a bit prepared for it. Hope that helps.

Better than Morrison for you ?
What about straight punches
Great stuff, any plans for seminars etc, obviously post zombie apocalypse?
Anything new cooking in the video room, Mr.Coup?
Great stuff, Mick.
Why not use the spacing hand to palm strike simultaneously?
Add some regret to the attackers disappointment.
The most logical appraoched no bullshit instructor i know. There are a few really good instructors, but Mick is the best, simple as that...
Amen!
Hi Mr.Coup how can I get in touch with you ?

Nice balance. Just a tiny bit of humour to lighten the tone without prompting anyone to fanny about and lots of solid information.
Awesome
