Screw Attack will kill you in Dread mode unfortunately since you take damage while using it on the X parasite, there's lots of small things like that to take into account.
@@Grubdog no, having screw attack allows the shinespark to work in dread mode. If you don't have screw attack, you can't shinespark and it's a longer (thus harder) fight where you need to dodge longer to avoid getting one-hit.
@@Grubdogyou can still spam it on Escue to kill it and there are a few seconds before it transforms into the X-parasite, so you can move away and not get hit. Just did that this week.
Man i thought i am good in video games cause i have beaten bosses like crash man, snake man or metal man. But this game makes me crazy. Good run i will study it.
In my most recent dread run, I intentionally skipped frozen Arteria and got bomb and screw attack early so I could skip or semi-skip Kraid, Escue, and Experiment Z-57. I’ve done them before in Dread Mode and it’s just not that fun, Escue especially. 100% sounds awful 😅
Why don’t you fight Corpius early, like in normal runs? The only attack that seems super hard to avoid in dread mode without the spider magnet is that one poison gas attack in Corpius’s last phase. However, it is dodgable with a well-timed wall jump. The trick is to perform a full hop right when the gas is about to reach the side of the arena, then wall jump not at the apex of your full hop, but slightly afterward. After that, move as close as you can to Corpius while in midair, and you’ll have avoided the poison gas attack.
This is a very nice run. My first Dread run i died 775 times...lol. (But i 100% it) Mainly because i did not do the boss mode fights first and the EMMI are always challenging for me. Lately i have been just doing hard mode and trying to not get hit and getting my completion time down.
As you get better the EMMI get super easy to avoid, especially once you get flash shift. You can dance around the EMMI stages and move way faster than them.

Same but u gotta use the storm missile, it helped me and now I take them down first try in my playthroughs
Escue at 1:32:10 but you have screw attack and can shinespark into him with it to kill in a few seconds
