Kinda sad to not see undertaker hunter. I know its not technically wild, but it kinda was. It was also in a world of its own at the time, before it got nerfed. Though, I guess if you are including that, you would probably also have to include beta miracle rouge.
@@burgersnpizza Yea, they were much before. I think undertaker was in naxx which was the first expansion. Idk, it just felt like "wild" because it basically was, but it was also the only constructed format.
Interesting to see which decks you consider best of all time. I would've said Patron warrior or Freeze mage, but obviously time makes them look stronger than they were :(
Totally agree with the ss tier. First day ODD demon hunter... There was literally no counter. Not even Reno cause you were dead on turn 6. And yeah you forgot darkest hour warlock.
jrhsk8 it was a lot like SNIP-SNAP, in that there was a huge discrepancy in performance based on the player’s skill level. So, finding evidence might be difficult. In fact, it had a sub 40% win-rate across the general hearthstone ladder (according to team 5) , yet it was considered by all the pros the best deck by far. You could look at tournaments during the time if you want to find evidence though, it shone in tournaments.
Feel like darkest hour warlock should have been at least at the top of A if not S, decks/archetypes that blizzard nerfed that hard have a pretty good reason to be on this list as an honorable mention maybe?
combo has the most potential to be busted, is probably why. wild tends to have a lot of combos that the devs didn't put much thought into, like sn1p warlock
What about patron warrior? I remember playing it in October 2016 and literally wrecking everything except priest. With priest I had to grab some tempo with battle rage. I finished top 20 legend and I do not even consider myself a good player.
Idk man, playing the deck felt pretty unstoppable. Even with counters. It was one of the few decks that really felt like you could consistently win your "counters" with a little luck, and would always crush the other decks. At least after the one day demon hunter shit storm.
@@trumpetperson11 It struggles with the high speed aggro matchup thats why the first quest mage that took over is reno quest then it moved on to became just quest due to lack of aggro
@@illumination_0109 It has counters, but those matchups are still only like 40-60 at worst. The ability to just pop off with sorc, waker, or evocation, all with a bunch of coins means you can go off really early some games (even in the 8 spell one now, so you know it would have had to been even better with 6)
Hey Jack, where would you put big shaman? Also, as a quest mage, how do you deal with aggro decks? (i know from one of your videos that you should try to get flamewaker and violet spellwing for the mulligan)
Yeah Giants Warlock was a completely different animal than Giants Hunter was. Giants warlock was pretty fine into most aggro decks and favorable into pretty much everything else in the meta. Hunter was trash though. Also I would say that aggro kingsbane was a more powerful deck than the leeching poison deck.
i am willing to admit that i'm wrong on the giants thing, personally i never got them working for me and i think vs-type statistics didn't find it very good either, however i defer to the top players at the time, so it may be underrated here
glinda would have been a great representative of sn1p warlock too but obviously sn1p is the classic card in that deck. my only regret with glinda is that i never got my full 1600 dust on asia b/c it was bugged
jrhsk8 I just think it’s funny that she never got any play until then or after 😂 that’s totally understandable. If I didn’t get the dust back on a nerfed legendary I’d be the embodiment of salt. I couldn’t even imagine trying to deal with blizzard customer service
it was just never on the level of these decks, it's no worse now and it still isn't on this level. like darkest hour it has some dummy good potential but it doesn't have the consistency, the winrate, which is really what this list is about
@@burgersnpizza thanks for reply, personally i cant help but disagree since i have been running the deck for months now and every season i use it to climb to rank 5, (diamond since recently) and it performs very well and very consistent, I run double Jeeves and 1 divine favor so I barely ever run out of cards, just my opinion btw, loved the video and ur rankings :)
Pre nerf quest rogue with the 5/5's should be on here, completed quest super fast and basically, you play solitaire with your minions and win the game
Was still trash in wild though
Never have I been more excited for a Hearthstone video

Undertaker came and went before wild was a thing iirc, same with beta miracle rogue, so not really in the spirit of the video

Those decks pre date wild as a game mode
zeddy is gonna be pissed when he finds out you made that video before him!
ran it by him first just to make sure, lol

Nice vid man, good job!
SS tier video! Was warsong commander Grim Patron Warrior ever in wild? If so, I think it deserved a spot on the list.
Even if it was, I can't find any evidence it was ever any good

Not in terms of power level. That deck was dumb but would get clapped by basically every single deck on this list
@@burgersnpizza no, with the combo the deck claps you!
Where would you put the new op deck Darkglare Warlock?
I'm seeing lots of combo and a smorc here

feel like since 6 spell quest mage had counters. it was probs top of s tier not ss
yea i agree the quest mage deck was popular because the decks that counter aggro were popular

Big Shaman might be F tier if we followed this list down. Quest mage stuff check out the guide on the channel, too much to say in one comment.
@@burgersnpizza Thanks buddy
more content like this plz. a1 wild streamer
Mecha'thun warlock didn't make the list? pre nerf blood bloom or the new dollmaster/Hemet version?
basically if a deck never spent any time as the best deck in the meta you can be sure it's not good enough to make the list, mecha'thun counts

Darkest hour warlock?? I took a break from wild because of that deck.
I remember seawitch being really oppressive. It was atleast B.
My only criticism of the list.
Hell yeah!
DH warlock?
Secret paladin was cancer back then
Poor one out for Glinda crowskin

you missed so many decks. I have card backs from June 2015 those were yhe glory days

watch out guys he hit rank 5 with the deck its busted
Big Priest?
Armstrong that's barnes
Now the best deck is discard warlock... I have now a 52w 12l the only thing I can hope that it won't get nerfed
it's not the best deck, tier 2 actually imo
SS ? My father was in SS
im just a nobody but I totally disagree with this list.
