In capitalism with a constitution, you can choose to leave a job because You decide it's value. In socialism, your value means nothing because a person working on an oil rig gets the same as a person handing out straws. Capitalism isn't always fair because people let themselves be treated unfairly, socialism is ALWAYS unfair because you don't have a choice and when you try to make a choice, a dictator will stop you because you don't have rights.

The Constitution can only be inforced through socialist programs. The question about socialism has never been 'yes' or 'no' but 'how much'.
      Unrestrained Socialism is always unfair.

@@theonismithcreations8554 That is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard. First off, the constitution was formed in SPITE of government, so no government enforces it. Individuals enforce the rights of the constitution - that isn't socialism, that is patriotism. Socialism requires the removal of constitutional rights; you can't have the right to persons and property if no one owns property. Socialism doesn't allow you to have freedom of religion, because your religious holidays may not be fair to society and would be required to end. You are a fool to think socialism on any mass scale will ever work. A constitutional republic defeated multiple Monarchs and made along with capitalism has made us the most powerful country to ever exist peacefully. Name one socialist attempt that lasted longer than a few months?

Life is never fair But we do have a choice between Freedom and dictatorship

@@lindor1695 Dictatorship by definition is the removal of choice - which is why socialism leads to a dictatorship. Socialism is about everything being equal, so if there are 10 people but only 5 cheeseburgers, no one gets a burger, or everyone gets half a burger. That might sound nice on its face, but when you think of the fact that the choice is made for you, then you realize that you are not free. Freedom (capitalism) isn't about everyone getting the same thing, it is about giving everyone the chance to get the same thing if you are willing to work hard to earn it. Under socialism, your efforts don't matter, a person risking their life cleaning the underside of bridges gets the same thing as a person safely cleaning dishes. Socialism will not work because someone will always feel mistreated or used and will find a way to get more. Socialism will never work because at some point the people you put in control of making things equal with control over the forces that make sure that happens will realize that they can take whatever they want - making them a dictator.

@michael Your post is probably the best description I've read In a long time. 10 thumbs up. Do I have your permission to repost ?
I feel like sleepy Americans are making a choice by clamoring for the government to fix things and make it all fair.

It was American Ingenuity and capitalism that beat the Soviet Union and the dictatorship of Stalin and Hitler. Even the Chinese Communist can't compete with American capitalism (changing now I believe). There's NEVER been a system that has brought more people OUT of poverty than capitalism. Allowing people to design, work, and live how they choose too without government influence or pressure. Rather incentives for creating as well. There's no system on this earth that donates or has donated more than the American capitalist private sector. Because we incentivize it....they donate then it's taken off taxes, like every American.

Democratic Socialisim is the form of government used in countries such as Sweden. Their poverty rate is 0.1%. Capitalism does not work best for eliminating poverty.

China has brought more people out of extreme poverty than any other country in the world. Also if you live in America 🇺🇸 you only get to see the good side, you live the benefits. You don't get to see the child labor, the coup de stats, the land grabbing, the neo-colonialism that enables you to live the American dream. Trust me I come from a country in which American companies did nothing but exploit poor people. "If you can't beat em join em" so I came to America and took some poor shmucks job away 😅 an eye for an eye.

LOL Too funny. Poor summer child. Might want to go to school. Sweden tried socialism from the 70's to the 90's. They are now a 'Direct Democracy'. Do you not have the Googles? It seems their trial of Socialism ended the same as everyone else's.
Socialism really only seems to work on college campuses, as thought experiments, run by people who have never actually held real jobs.

We do not have the capitalism of the post war era, now in Canada we have corporate cartels that have few competitors by government collusion with them. There are only a small number of telecoms to choose from, same with grocery chains, and this is why Canadian banks became so successful and powerful, it was with the aid of the government to stop competition from foreign companies. That was perhaps a good reason back then but today it has become increasingly difficult for consumers to access cheap telecom services and same with groceries, besides all of the taxes we pay on top of other taxes, on top of other taxes to pay for our ever growing bureaucracy.

Although its intellectual handmaidens love to insist otherwise - capitalism is not a system that truly embodies freedom. We all feel it, of course - that nagging sense that we lack any agency over the choices that shape our lives, the frustration we feel at our bosses, the tension we feel with our landlords, the sense that we’re all just stuck in a rat race. We might lack the language to articulate it, or a framework within which to situate it, but we all know, deep down, that this ain’t it. That there’s something deeply wrong.

Yes! If you don’t force 5% of the population just to keep a cheap source of labor. And have 50% of the profits given to the Employees.

Under capitalism, greed is used to earn money by providing a product that people want. This way all sides get what they want.
Capitalism is hopefully not monopolistic tendencies, but instead free market.

Socialism does a very simple thing: Gov takes, then government breaks.
The Venezuelan Farms confiscated by the Chavez Regime resulted in a crop reduction of over 70%. During that time, the population grew by 30+%. Famine insued as inflation and scarcity ballooned
