Eliza Dushku basically confirmed at a convention panel that the subtext was indeed real, that Faith did indeed swing both ways and that she portrayed her as such, AND that when Faith kisses Buffy on the forehead in Angel's mansion, the original scene was supposed to be a kiss on the lips. You can thank the puritanical jerks at the WB for nixxing that kiss and forcing Joss and the show writers to change it to a kiss on the forehead.
