Thanks guys! The leather patches on the tops of bottles originally started as old boots from the distillery workers. They now partner with Tony Llama to use boot scraps for the bottle tops. So that's real honest to "Jesus tap dancing serpent" cow hide on there.
Mornin' Bastards! Love the entire TX line (the Blended Whiskey has its place), and totally get those pecan notes that come through from the yeast strain that they developed. Excited to try their finished bourbons and look forward to continued excellence from these guys!
I discovered after buying Redbreast 12 yr Whisky and my brother buying TX Bourbon. We did a taste test last night and I am definitely a bourbon girl! lol. Problem is we both love this bourbon and not very fond of the Redbreast! Please ..no one get mad at me! This is just my taste buds going in a different direction than others! I tried the ..put a couple drops of water in both. The bourbon...so Good!!! The Redbreast was ok...just not as good as the TX to me. I'm still going to continue trying different whisky's and bourbons! Give my palate time and see what the future holds! 😁 Thank you MB's! You guys have opened my eyes to a whole new world of flavors!
Of all the many, many small and craft whiskeys you guys review, I'd love to see you do one video in which you select craft whiskies you particularly think are excellent and would do well on a larger market.
I could be wrong but do I spot not one, not two, not three, not four, but five Laphroaig on the wall of quintessential whisky?! Did Emma stopped by and gotten into the vault?
Either you’re not accustomed to the taste yet, or you just straight up don’t like it. All you can do is try to find bourbons with less of the oak taste (or other flavors that overpower it more) and try to work your way up to stronger oak tasting bourbons.
Did Rex sample a few too many? He was very blurry in this episode. Or is this just how Dan goes about removing someone slowly over time? The slow blur to nothing....

Any tips for getting over the oak flavor in bourbon? I can't seem to enjoy bourbon because of this. (Islay scotch isn't an issue.)
