- Leyland Atlantean 1101 restoration episode 007! Part 1. The upper deck gets tidied up, and I dig into the front desto (blind) box, mount some rolls and fix the terrible route number. Make some interesting(and spooky) discoveries along the way.

Our coach builders at work sometimes boil window rubber in water to make it more pliable. Your milage may vary, try a small test piece first if you can.

I started my PSV life here in UK driving Atlanteans. The main water ingress probs were the destination blinds, which resulted in drips onto the dvr. At the terminus I would go upstairs & find the whole upper deck awash with water, not cos of broken seals, but cos of condensation in our cold climate. The saloon heating had long ceased to operate. It was the fag end of their service sadly. I enjoy your vlogs mate.

Great seeing another Atlantean getting restored to add to Sydney Bus Museum's fleet. So many were lost quickly from 1977.
Are they cannibalising the blue one sitting outside for parts?
Anyhow you are tenacious in finding ways to overcome challenges you face. Good job on the front route number box as well as the tedious task of seat removal to paint the floor and that deuced window seal.

I volunteer at the London Bus Museum, so it would be fantastic to visit the Australian equivalent one day. I do want to make a trip down under to see the buses there at some point in my lifetime.

im here in the UK but would love to visit sydney bus museum one day, i have seen the sydney albion venturer up in scotland. there is also rumoured to be a ex sydney atlantean at a painballing center over here but ive never been able to confirm that

As you know Steve, I have Scalia 3761, at the back I have the half alloy which I am removing … it might be ok for you to cut up for your bus if you want it.?
