- In this exciting episode of Montinho, we embark on a challenging journey to repair a 3 km long waterpipe that is not working since the devastating wildfire of 2018. We’ve acquired the water rights to this 70 year old pipeline, which has been essential for irrigating the terraces of our land for decades.
Join us as we navigate through dense forests, thorny bushes, and inaccessible creek sections, overcoming numerous obstacles in our quest to restore the waterconnection to our land. Our mission is not just about fixing the pipe; it’s about bringing life back to our landscape and restoring the legacy of the old water system.

3kms is a long way so you did well! It would be nice if the larger diameter pipe ran the whole way but at least you have an endless supply of useable water .

When all of the farms were populated throughout the Portuga,l the water ran smoothly along their wonderfully engineered terraces, but I can see where pipes now have to replace that system.

Whoa! That was a great amount of work! Wouldn't have been easier to just use a suction pump in one of your streams down the mountain that it would have been faster and easier to maintain in the future.

Absolutely amazing ! The sheer length of the water pipe connection and your effort to identify and fix all leaks. very excited for the spring pond and other stream rejuvenation, that'll come after this.
It must have been quite a feeling when you realised that the water was there after such an extensive search for all of those leaks. The one thing I could recommend is a longer victory dance for sure.😂 It's pretty amazing seeing you restore something that was done so long ago, but if it worked then it will definitely be a huge asset. I guess you don't even think about how hard It could be. I think that the Portuguese government should provide it.
