Yes that sends power to the ECM etc , it is like turning the key on. The trigger jumps the starter like the key would if turned all the way to start the engine.
I would actually make a lead with a toggle switch and banana (bullet) connectors at both ends to fit in those holes where i put the paper clip. this means you get a better connection and dont have to pull them out to stop engine..just toggle switch on of.
Is that little paper clip all you used to start that other than the trigger? My brother is buying a 5.7 liter gxi that would be nice to hook up. It will be used in a 2002 MasterCraft.
