My issue is they’re focusing all their resources and game changes on esports drivers and teams. Not GT3 drivers and actual race teams who can perfect this game.
E sports only care about being fast and exploit advantages. Not making a sim realistic.
Esports can be an advantage to SimRacing if implemented correctly. They need go fix the exploits and the open cheating to legitimize it.
That's a big problem really. How many of these E sports drivers have raced these cars IRL? I know some have but the vast majority are just gamers as far as I know. How can you give realistic inputs to the handling going off games? I know it will still only be a game but surely if you want feedback on physics etc racing drivers would be your best bet?
Take James as a example, he has raced the Mclaren but could he say if the BMW etc handles like the real car? If all your basing your knowledge on is previous games surely it will be just based on those and not the real cars?
I know the vast majority of us won't know either when we play but surely there going about it the wrong way?

visually it looks like the car is gliding over the tarmac unlike acc.. even just visually the car looks more planted in acc compare to this.. but this game is in early development so well see i guess..

AMS2 has a up to date version of spa as well which is gorgeous.

It is lazer scanned from 2020 and has just been reformed into the 2022 so id say it is better than Rennsport. Rennsport are missing some small sausage kerbs into turn 7-8-9-10 and 13-14

I've just watched the quali for the 9 hours Kyalami, and the engine doesn't sound anywhere close to what Rennsport has to offer! When the car is idle it sounds like a Merc, but on track it doesn't. The one thing that makes this sim different to the likes of ACC is the sound of the engine coming into life. If this is the alpha or a beta version, it's got a long LONG way to go! And with Kunis planning on releasing AC2 (Assetto Corsa 2), and with ACC getting as close as it can to real life, Rennsport got a long way to go! But competition is good for the sim/eSports scene!
This game's been out for months already and they only fixed the gear shift sound delay on the Audi and BMW but not the Porsche...?
"RENNSPORT was founded by motorsports and game development enthusiasts with the ambition to code the most realistic racing simulation possible." Race driver GRID had a full scale damage model and tyre wall deformation in 2008 on the XBOX 360, yet there's no sign of any damage model whatsoever in this and it's about to be in beta stage. They have such a long way to go I don't understand why they released in this state, because if they even get it finished by 2024 it'll get smoked by Assetto Corsa 2.
@@reno9k true points there you have made! It's got a long way to go before it can compare to the likes of ACC, which I currently play. The difference between those sims is night and day. As James said live on the other social streaming media platform, the overlay, looks similar to PC/ PC2 (Project Cars 1 and Project Cars 2), whose to argue with that statement, because they do look similar. So when the beta is released, and released to the sim world public, only time can tell whether it can take the crown of becoming the next evolution of eSports sim racing. Valid points made there! Valid points!
Tbh I' m not impressed by Rennsport at all. Physics looks fishy, no shadows are rendered in garage what looks super odd, contacts, and driving kerbs looks odd, there almost zero content but a big efford for e-sports while even engine sounds are worst of all sims released after 2000. Porsche money behind locked doors just alerts me. Looks for me like the next Motorsports Games and that makes me afraid. At least we can count on Kunos
@@RonaldRegain overall if someone was to ask me to rate the sim out of 10,; I would give it 5. Why? Because it is trying too hard to beat the competition right out of the gate. Lack of content! Not even seen what the car AI for other are like. Sounds of the various engines, needs a lot of work. Roadmap is non existent (at the moment) and finally what payment method is going to be used for content update, is it going to be a paid monthly subscription or a DLC like what Kunos are doing with ACC and AC2? So many unknowns, at the moment! So let's see what Rennsport is like going down the line, sim racers have been burnt hard before and are right to be cautious about this title!

Honestly not too interested unless the online competes with iracing. That, or a good career mode with more than just GT3. Unless the physics or FFB reach a new level it doesn’t really fill any gaps in our current game selection

Haven't really paid attention to this game but I don't see what this game does differently to make people move from ACC.
Drives very differently to ACC ... so which feels closer to real life?
Surprised that Rennsport hasn't come out with its USP yet. Currently just seems like similar ti ACC, but presumably they have bigger plans.
Looking forward to the release of this game. It's great that they have skilled racers drive and help develop the game with them. Should make it a really quality game.

The engine audio sounds like a tuner buzz from an old TV. Lot's of work with the audio to do yet. At least for the Merc. I hope they can improve that.

iracing is the most popular sim right now, with a good basis they will destroy iracing if they really go for it
Its really an raw game at this point, the cars seems to be floating and have no suspension unless you hit an curb, and the sound of the cars are very very bad.
8:46 I recall walking into the Rennsport summit and immediately seeing groups of world class esports racers spinning out on every rig, trying to make sense of the handling model.
It definitely has a long way to go, but I hope they get there. I recall how rough the first ACC release was, and look at it now.

I've got pleasure to drive in Rennsport at IEM Katowice this year, and I'm amazed. I loved physics, look, and whole feeling of car. Also curbs is not that lethal which is pretty nice. Also thanks for cap signed by you.

On the merc and Porsche renders the rear caliper is in the wrong position. Should be on the forward side of the rotor. Just an observation.
I like the fact the cockpit view is realistic vs in ACC when many players have their view right up on the dash
You can freely adjust your seat in ACC. Whoever you’re watching just has their camera moved up, which they could move back.
This has nothing over anything currently out, but always good to have more sim racing titles available

I really enjoyed PC2 and put PLENTY hours on it. Loved how they were one of the very few games that gave LMP2 and LMP3 cars. I hated 3 went to some arcadey crap. Im hoping a top contender game can come out eventually and respect the P2 and 3 cars along with DPi prototypes.
about the sliding thing, yes you can see it right away. as if they added all the force vectors etc and applied the grip/contact patch to a center wheel which is why the yaw angle doesn't make sense. on ACC you see the cars turn in differently
Moritz Löhner was one of the best while driving textbook clean like a pro driver. Doesn't work in ACC because you need to steer while braking hard like James is saying. I've never seen that in onboards.

As an American i find it funny when people call the Mercedes a Merc, The old Mercurys were always and have always been called Mercs and it makes more sense to me as a cut down Mecedes would be Mers. I dont say Merk Sadies. lol How to pronounce Mercedes ( mr-say-deez ) How to pronounce Mercury ( mur-kyr-ee ) cut those down and you got Mers and murk. It's like shortening up the name Andrew to Aunty LMAO! Every person that i have heard shorten the name for a Mercedes is "Benz". Now if it's not a Merdedes-benz then call it a AMG ( LOL another can of worms :P )

From early access to present, ACC just moved away from what I thought was a great start. I've tried RennSport, I like the base they're starting from, hopefully they don't ended up like another ACC/iRacing hybrid. I crave for a different approach, different physic models. But let's be real, money is at stakes. It more likely that they'll land where it's safe. I hope I am wrong.
The 2D cockpit and zero look to apex looks amazing!

Mercedes predates both world wars. First Mercedes automobile came out in 19th century. Three points represents land, sea and air.

It doesn't look like it has the same sense of speed as ACC. It just seems a lot slower... It's so weird seeing you do 250 on Spa, especially through Eau Rouge, and it looks like you're doing around 160! I feel borderline out of control through there at like 190. Couldn't imagine taking it at 250! I thought maybe I was playing Mph without knowing, but you were in 6th gear. I have to take it in 5th with the Porsche and it seems way faster than you taking it 250! I'm still trying to get comfortable in the car. Only been sim racing for a couple months.

Seems the game measures speed like in "how far do I travel per second" and not the rotation of the rear wheels. Doing donuts with 12km/h?

How are the curbs so far in rennsport are they as lethal as ACC's can be at times?
None of the cars sounded nice at all, very unfinished. Obviously it's alpha build so completely understandable. The contact physics looked pretty good from ESL races too

The sound is so bad imo. The cars sound like NFS Hot Pursuit from 2001. Im excited to try it and feel the physics but the sound... ughhh...

The sound is God awfull what the actual heck.. and the rpm and speed thing projected instead of the dash. This has nothing at all on acc. Acc the sound is amazing and makes a ton of immersion.

From the Q&A from with the developers, it’s going to be a sub + content purchase, with some free stuff. I’d expect something similar iRacing but perhaps a couple dollars less to draw business.
