I generally can't get interested in watching somebody else drive, but the commentary kept me interested all the way through, so respect for that. This has somewhat quelled my interest in Rennsport though. Doesn't look or sound particularly interesting and clearly has its own share of sim idiosyncracy (which they all do). Not sure what its USP will be, but on pure physics & graphics it doesn't seem to be a big step up from any of the established titles.

Criticism is not only to be expected, but to be encouraged during a beta testing program, so long as it is made abundantly clear to content consumers that the game is still in beta. AFAIK, it would be illegal for beta testers to review a game and not be allowed to criticize it, that would be an advertisement.

I only got into sim racing after seeing Crimsix get signed to FaZe for ESL R1. Been a general esports fan for awhile but nothing ever hooked me like sim racing esports has.
The more Footage i see of Rennsport, the more it looks to me like a straight E-Sports title, means lots of Action in a short amount of time to keep short attention spanners engaged. Which is kind of sad really cause it could be a good competitor on the market if they won't go the Project Cars, short weekend sort of setting. I'd enjoy longer sessions (like 10min quali and 20min race) more. In terms of sound i think they're gonna rework those so im looking forward to that.

Cannot believe the Developer is ok with this level of product to be shown in the public, regardless of whatever else might still be in the work. Think James has mentioned he has a pretty low graphics settings, but still..... yuck.
Did the game have updates to ESL in the last 4 months ? All I see is the same race format with the same cars and the same tracks. I did like it at the start but it has become too much of the same tbh. Do you feel like the game is actually progressing atm ? Great race though! 🙏🏻
To me it looks too "clinical" almost arcade like.. I know it's early days but it doesnt seem as "sim like" as ACC, graphics look pretty ordinary. Anyhow will give the BETA a go (if it ever eventuates)..

The game framerate looks fine but the frame rate / refresh rate of the wheel animation is so poor, it looks completely disconnected from the game itself.
Is the animation for the cars looking like there floating just in replay mode, or do they do this all the time. It looks like almost no movement over curbs
Ahhh. Got some F1 eSport drivers on the Grid. Even if the Top 6 go thru. I'd still want to finish as high as possible just bc I'm competitive. I want to win everytime.
At 1:26 it sure as hell looks like you drove right thru the back end of the car you were overtaking. No way in hell the right side of a real car missed smashing into that!

This is an Unreal Engine 5 game, isn't it? It's really difficult to make a game look amazing in such flat light. Changing the time of day would really make this game look so much better, I'm willing to bet. I know that showing off the game's graphics wasn't ever the intention, here. I, for one, really want to see what Unreal Engine 5 can do for Sim-Racing, though.

Like do you also get frustrated watching F1 cuz you cant drive there? tbh releasing the game first to esports is such a great move - great feedback + it creates the "luxury" brand, something exclusive, so when the game comes out people will want to be part of it
People are already done with it. Too long the wait, months of no communication, frustration bcs of the lack of transparency and seeable progress. ESL always the same 3 tracks. The final with a clickbait thumbnail had less than 200 live viewers. Also that F1 comparison is kinda weird. This is meant to be used by the public. It should have been half a year ago. F1 is meant to be watched. Everyone knows they won’t ever sit in an F1 car. Totally different things

I like the view. How you see the dash and mirror in the car. One of my pet peeves is how many of the top drivers use a POV that's very unrealistic. Which if your calling it sim racing, takes away from the "sim" aspect
How is the physics of Rennsport? Because audio and video quality is absolute vomit, but at least those can still say it's beta phase. Instead, if physics is a donkey in beta, well...

It’s so crazy how amazing rn sport looked over ACC. Until 1.9 on ACC came out ACC looks like it drives so much better
The game looks very choppy whenever you lose traction a bit, like it's going back and forth trying to figure out how much to rotate
That and the hand animations are absolutely horrible and stuttery. It’s completely distracting
This is exactly what I wanted to mention too and if you look at the mirror at the top the game is much smoother than looking in front

This is just how ESL works. Got nothing to do with the game itself. You can have 10 minute races in ACC or iRacing as well
