“People believe the past is more real than the present moment” for some reason this blew my mind

  • @marylousanchez7529

An important Key is CONSCIOUSNESS ........when a human being start to be aware of himself / herself and in that moment connected to the present time in time and space, right there the awareness is that there is a different state of being, where you can choose what to think and what to feel and with that to be more free to choose. That is the feeling of awakening, the connection in the constant present moment to everything and practice to hold that state of being for more and more seconds. keep in consideration that Being Human will involve to have Duality: an energetic value with polarities that provides contrast. To have the awareness that the contrast is a tool showing us WHAT WE ARE NOT and with that know what we really are and shifting towards our choice of experience / thought / feeling / action.

The only time we suffer is when we believe a thought that argue
with "what is". When the mind is perfectly clear, "what is" is what
    we accept in this moment.
In the words of Byron Katie, "If you want your reality to be different
than 'what is' then you might as well try to teach your cat to bark.
You can try and try and in the end the cat will look up at you and
say 'Meow'. Wanting your reality to be different than what it is in this
moment, is just as hopeless. You can spend the rest of your life trying
to teach your cat to bark."
And yet if you pay attention, you'll notice that you think thoughts
like this all the time. Whenever the word 'should' shows up, that's
what is going on. As in "I should be thinner, my friend should be
less sensitive, my spouse should be more attentive." - You get the idea...
These thoughts are ways of wanting reality to be different than it
is. Here is my point - all the stress you feel in your life at this
moment is caused by arguing with "what is".
People say to me, "But if I simply accept reality then I will
become passive and nothing will change. I answer them with this
question. Which of these statements makes more sense? "I wish I
hadn't lost all that money." or "What can I do now to create more income?"
Accepting "what is" doesn't mean you settle for the way things are, it
just means you give up all the resistance and inner struggle by wishing
    it were different.
When undesirable things happen, it can be helpful not to let go and NOT
mentally argue with them. We know this, and the only reason we continue
doing it is because it is a HABITUAL PATTERN. As you know, you can
change your habitual patterns when you change your energetic blueprint.

Jody, it sounds this way to you because this is where you are, your vantage point on the mountain, so to speak. But that doesn't mean that others do not have different vistas and "ears to hear" what is being said here. Good luck to you!

Would you tell us when/where these words were spoken? It’s an excellent talk you’ve selected to post here - but, for instance, on Adya’s own postings always and on those of others of good calibre, there’s a reference. Thank you

there is a man who lives next door to me who i think is enlightened. i feel like if he was my teacher my whole life would change very rapidly and profoundly but i am too nervous or scared to talk to him about it!
i have seen him a few times and there is something about him which is very deep and very mysterious.

he means physiological time. If you think about something in the past or relive a memory, you do so in the present moment. Same goes for the future. They do not have any reality to their own, the only thing that exists exists now. For functional reasons we have found patterns- I do this, I get that result. The problem is a misuse of the tool. The present moment is always blissful and content.

when your third eye opens, you'll realize that you've been asleep all your life. the best analogy is when your adolescent brain woke up and could question everything your parents told you was the truth. The day before you thought like a child and the adolescent brain was asleep. Right now your third eye is asleep. Your divine soul is asleep. when it awakens you will begin to participate in the divine realm.

Years ago while with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi he said " you are right that I similarily repeat myself. I do this as you each hear things at different times; in repeating it you have the chance to hear it and you who heard it the first time have more opportunity to look at it. "
