A very conservative business owner here looking into the future. This model has me dreaming of ways to unite my community and band together through difficult times. Thanks for sharing this!
I love the way you explain Co-Ops and love the ethos behind Yuti! I've been dreaming of the same thing and so grateful that you're taking the steps towards such an ambitious venture.
I want to start a Co-Op for vacation rental services. Cleaners, concierge services, light maintenance, landscaping, laundry service, and photography. We live in a small town that is growing as a vacation spot in AZ. The demand is there as the vacation rental industry is growing fast here. A Co-Op of independent contractors getting more money for their time and work as well as a network that is supportive of each other and working together for the clients.
I'm still young and years away from starting a cooperative but I have an idea for a detective/mutual aid agency. I want to focus on helping undocumented people, people that have been wrongly incarcerated, helping worker unionization efforts and other cooperatives, building working class community solidarity etc. I'm a socialist and starting a co op is the closest we can get to real socialism in this country at the moment.
Oh crap, is this a Socialist Communist thing that advances those destructive ideas? I guess I'm out. I was looking at this from a survival thought, I'll continue on that though.
What type of ideas? Industries? I’d recommend focusing on category that you’re passionate about. Starting any business is hard so unless your passionate, it unlikely you will stick with it for the long term. Let me know if you need more assistance :)

Interesting. Co-ops are popping up all around these days :-) I thought there must be a reason for that. Thanks for this video
Wondering what a content creation co-op could look like. Like music, art, podcasts etc.
Thank you folks for checking out my channel and learning more about worker owned CO-OPs. Leave a comment if I can answer any questions.
Vivek, Can it be a “hybrid” with members financially supporting and also founding members (investors) to accelerate the startup?

We generally spend 8 hours of our day working in an undemocratic workplace. Market socialism is a good first step to building cohesion between people.
Worker co-ops will be the heart of creating socialist society. Good luck with your co-op. Let me know if I can help. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽

Does this assume co-ops don't go public and have stock holders?
Co-ops can do that, but it would no longer be owned by the workers, it would be owned by the capitalists who buy the stocks.
Well, technically working for someone else makes you a wage slave
