The little wicker house type piece would have been great for Christmas as well with a nativity scene. It would've been perfect for that but I love it with other options too! Whoever purchases can change it up many ways. I also think your idea with the mixed metal buckets would be absolutely perfect for mini Christmas trees. Love all of your flips. Big and small. I flip pieces to sell and for my home as well
Hello Bri ! How cute that wicker house basket would be for a Nativity Set 🌲 That is what I thought when you held it up! And I love the Christmas Bell… My husband bought a box of Bells at an Auction..mainly for the vintage Cow Bell…but scored well with others in the box. I have to put them up when the little grandkids come…🤪🤪 Crazy time ! That Basket you hung on the wall with the handle going down..genius with the towel through the handle 👍 Your sheep brought back memories of our youngest daughter, she was a major sheep lover when she was little. Saved her money up to buy one,,. Had to be BLACK, FEMALE AND CALL ROSEMARY 🥰 Just like a dog! She played with the sheep. She had and still does have a sheep similar to the one you have! She is 41 LOL ! She was 7 when she bought the sheep , bottle fed it and all… and Rosemary died her 2nd year of college! Long life and roamed around freely like a dog…we live on a dirt road in the country ! No High Rise Apt…LOL! Can’t wait for the wood on Sunday ! Oh boy! You wish you could keep everything and I wish I could buy it all! We could go on the “Hoarders” Show…. LOL!!! Hugs sweet lady ! 💛💛🌻🌻💛💛
That basket as a nativity is genius! I may just redo it ;) I would have loved to meet your dog-sheep! I love animals so much. I can only imagine the bell craziness with the grands! Alaina reaches up to ding that little bell every.single.time. she walks by!! LOL! Hugs right back :)
Clapper...the inside of a bell is a clapper. What fun finds! I'm going to the thrift store and find books to make for my fall craft fair. Bri...you crack me up! Love your bloopers lol!!! Oh the topiaries have side ponies!
Bahhahah!!!!! CLAPPER!!!! Thank you!!!! I could not remember for the life of me! Some of the things that come out of my mouth when I'm rambling on about junk- I tell ya!!! You're the second one that thought the topiaries looked like a couple chicks hanging out!! Too funny!!!! Hope you're having a great week Elaine!! :)
The house basket with the floral arrangement is my favorite! You are very creative! Your floral arrangements are so beautiful! Again, your Cottagecore decor is on point! The best version of Cottagecore Decorations I've seen so far!
Goodness.... that basket that can hang 😲 I am so jealous Bri 💯 I am always looking for baskets like that! I need to move your way, you always get the goods 💖
Great haul!! I loved the way the basket house came out with the sola flowers 😍The issue with the Waverly "white" wax isn't that it turns yellow, it actually is yellowish right from the bottle. The difference between that and the DIY white wax is amazing, I love the pure white frosting like consistency of it, definitely worth it!!!
My favorite thrift here is owned by the same people that own the antique malls I have my booths. Such a great eye! Boutique setting with amazing prices and I can get a 30% off coupon anytime just by asking! They are the Best!! "The Giving Tree' in Topeka, KS
Yes Bri bring on the ideas for Fall and Christmas girl I need some inspiration for my shop .... I also love the color cake batter I painted a gossip bench with it ! Thanks for this video and lots of love from Utah
The basket you found with the handle that you hung the towel from! Just yesterday I was at a resale shop and saw one of those! I’ve never seen one before and almost got it but they wanted $5 and it had some stains. I want to go back and get it now! Lol.
So cute! I would keep it if I had a better wall to display it on with the towel! You can totally wash baskets- warm water, dawn dishsoap and a small bristle brush- then place in the sun or in front of a fan to dry !
Shazam! You have a remarkable eye for cottage core and BOGO. I hope I’m in my new place by the time the holidays roll around. I’d look forward to some cool DIY ornaments or holiday decor.
I just got a big basket like the round one at a yard sale for $1.! Thinking of lavender in it if I can find enough in my area! Great video! Also looking for advice on painting glass/ceramic platters. Got a stack for free but paint won’t stick well, any tips?
You just have to go for it! My first couple of videos- I won't even watch back! lol! But then I realized that y'all like my natural goofiness and recording became a lot easier!
Bri, do you get any bleed through when you paint metal pieces? Like a orange or green color. I do when I paint metal with chalk paint. Seems like your topiary vases came out just fine?
I get bleed through when I use a spray sealer sometimes. A good fix- spray with a base coat of spraypaint, then paint over that. Sometimes that redish metal from the 90s will bleed badly!
I have a brass pineapple that has turned. I tried painting it with Waverly Chalk paint in plaster. I immediately started wiping it with a damp cloth and it highlighted the engraving of the pineapple! I don’t know if I made the right decision. Can you help? BTW, I didn’t put any wax on it at all.
I would use a soft bristle brush and hot water to remove the rest of the paint, then you can mix lemon juice and salt to create a bit of a paste to clean the brass with!
@@UpcycledbyBri thank you so much! I didn’t know if I was making the right decision or not. It’s a big 2 piece! I set it on my mantle and each time I look at it, I just wonder!
Hands down the books are my favorite (but that’s all I’ve seen so far) and I kid you not, I was just wondering where I could score a set of encyclopedias. No one (generalizing here) ever uses them anymore. The minute they are (were) printed, they were ‘out of date’. So anyone who gives you grief…one word for them GOOGLE.
Thanks for being sensitive to those of us who are traumatized by the thought of Christmas! I know it's important to be ready for holidays way before they arrive but Christmas seems like it was just a week ago. I think that icky thing you found in the big basket was dried yellow cocks comb. It did kind of look like dried brains. Just sayin'
Yeah it was icky! Gave me the heebie jeebies! lol!! It's very strange to live so far ahead of schedule sometimes! But I have to be prepared when the time comes as my customers do love to shop for Christmas! :)
The encyclopedias should have been left as they were. You could have displayed them the same way. Just my opinion. I don’t think coverless books are attractive, no matter what you do to them.
Don't forget, this is a business. In order to be successful, sometimes a shop owner has to plan way ahead. Let's focus on being grateful that she shares her process and creativity with us instead of focusing only on our ourselves and our own opinions.

I check ebay, etsy, and mercari, If the items seem super special or unique- I will post in antique groups for opinions from individuals that sell those kind of items. I just recently got into the reselling side. For the longest, I just bought items to paint and flip. But I quickly ran out of time so I started to add in some things that just need cleaned up. I don't ever research in the store. If it seems cool, I grab it. Now, if an item was more expensive, I will look it up before I buy. But that hasn't really happened yet!
Really great finds, LOVING the Angel candle holders 🤗💕 it was really funny when you said a brass pair 😂😂😂
