I did something similar to my old Ecoboost. There were these spiral looking things in the intake that I removed. It made the turbos sound a lot louder when removed. Then I added atmospheric vents on the waste gates that get it that WOOSH sound when off-throttle. Did it add power? Probably not. Did it add smiles? Yeah, most definitely.
Always! Yeah sometimes it’s just the sound that makes it more enjoyable 😂🤘
@@BoostedMotorsports I loved hearing that spool and POOOOSH. I mean, I hated that truck because it was a p.o.s, but when it ran right it was fun as hell. Fuck me for being a "beta tester" on a 2011 F150 Ecoboost.
@@riccochet704 I just got an eco could you tell me where exactly you did this I’m not sure where the wastegate would be yet this is a new venture for me.
@@Dar.io. There's a "Y" pipe coming off the filter box. They're right at the "Y" connection. At least that's where they were on my 2011 F150.
I put a piece of 3” diameter, 18” long pipe in place of that oval pipe. No turbo lag. Also did the K&N drop in filter
My Ecodiesel is 2 db quieter then the same truck with a hemi at 60 mph. 140,000 tuned miles, great power and mpg. Have run a K&N drop in since new.
I did that year's ago and took all the plastic out of the inside of the mass air also I run green diesel engineering tune and Trans tune and stacked with mp8 my trucks four and a half inch lift on 35s and I still get the same fuel mileage of stock or better with more power 2016 never had a issue yet.
Notice any difference with the plastic out of the mass air? Also what’s mp8

@corynolan4955 did you find the fuel economy was better if you were being easy on the peddle on long cruises? I have a '19 and am looking for things to do with it to maximize power/efficiency/noise when I have the money lol

One thing to note is that they changed this for at least the 22’s. The intake pipe is all one piece and there’s no clamp to remove to separate where the baffle is. Just tried to do this on mine and no dice

Mine is tuned, with EGR off and it does around 20 MPG city, 26 is WOW!!!

So after a while with that baffle out, have you noticed any long term benefits?
Same truck up here in Ottawa On, got the Mr Tune out of Quebec and delete and mpg went from 28 to 35 without anything else YET.
How is the MR Tune up to now?

removing the baffel has made the pipe larger bore,so may be try change all of it for a even larger internal diameter smooth bore plastic or aluminium pipe and possible more turbo noises @ small power gain
Really hoping these engines can get the bugs worked out. I think they could be the diesel version of a honda k24. 4 banger computer controlled turbo diesel. Should be able to really pull some power out of it if the block is strong enough.

@@BoostedMotorsports Are the more frequent oil and filter changes making a difference? I remember suggesting that to people since it seems the oil filter is bypassing too much with dirty oil and slowly clogging up the main crank oil ports.
thats the poroblem, blocks are made of a new carbon fiber material and I don't think it is strong enough

I took my baffle off and added a K&N air filter and you can hear the turbo inside the cab and outside the cab clear as day.
Any difference in power and/or fuel economy?

Brother, you haven't ditched the factory air box yet....but these was interesting
All the Hot air intakes that replace it either have the open filter or if it's a "sealed" box it just has a heat shield and some rubber gaskets that sort of seal to the hood. I mean you can get one but why spend $600+ for a correct and legit CAI that actually pulls cooler air thats not under the hood, just to get a few extra hp/tqs

It does have more power when you DONT FLOOR IT inknow i sounds dumb but its true i think its a turbo thing, i have a chevy cruze with a turbo and it is very much noticeable

You’re getting 26mpg mixed/city?!? Dude. My 2017 Laramie EcoDiesel just got 27.5mpg on a 700 mile all highway trip. Otherwise 20-22mpg is just about max I ever see real world mixed driving.
It's gonna be harder to hear obviously with the closed airbox

How do i rid of the delay on mine? Sometimes when i pull out in traffic it sits there for a second. Pedal commander didnt solve it
Can’t fix that without tuning. It’s on purpose bc of emissions.

@@DirtSickle1 yeah, very similar. It’s worked great for me at least when comparing pre and post. Not a night and day increase but definitely better than what I had before, especially with ludicrous mode.

Have you done the dpf delete? I’m curious to how much that helps the ecodeisels. I know with the 2500’s it drastically increases mpg and helps performance and longevity of the engines.

@@xgdubjrx821 Sure would be, especially here in Southern Commiefornia with bi-annual emissions tests.
A delete and tune on these is a drastic change, upgrade the intake to the banks power intake with a good filter and you will get 23mph ave and 33 on the hwy at 65mph
Id be cool if ram made a diesel v8 1500 ram to bridge the gap between the the 1500 and 2500 class kinda like the cummins 5.0 v8 that nissan used
Thats retarded there is no reason to put a bigger diesel in the 1500 if you need more tow capacity then get 2500 cummins
Ram was offered that Cummins first but they passed because the mpg wasn’t where they wanted it to be.

@@BoostedMotorsports I just got a recall notice regarding the fuel pump for 2015 Ecodiesel. I probably shouldn’t remove it until after the recall to play it safe since Ram can say I removed a component from the air intake.
