    Thank you so much for this video! I'm an older transfer (well over age 25) and have rented an entire house to myself for several years, so I'm not keen on the idea of bunking with people a decade or more younger than me. The UCLA housing website is really confusing, especially for transfers, and your video nicely broke down the options. My only suggestion would be to add a second video about UCLA's off campus apartments, including the family housing, which is especially relevant to young parents and transfers.

    Are you able to make a video tour of empty dorm rooms so I can get a better idea of what is included and what is not included in a dorm room.

    Hi, Emilio. First of all thank you so much for posting the very helpful video. It definitely helped me decide what housing option was best for me. I just have a (silly) question though. The other day I got a mail from UCLA Store. Apparently they are selling residence hall linens. I was going to ignore it till I saw "Regular sheets won't fit our beds" and that I have to respond within the next 15 days. Okay I'm convinced I need to buy it since the beds are apparently longer. However, are all beds the same regardless of what housing option I get? I find it weird that they're already pressuring me choose when I haven't even found out what housing option I got. So really what I'm trying to ask is, will the beds be the same size regardless of where I get accepted? My 1st choice was deluxe if you're wondering. If you didn't go this route (of buying from UCLA store) do you mind sharing how you did all this housing stuff. Right now it's too overwhelming. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

    • @Meelo
      @Meelo  9 років тому

      sweettoothmeryl haha I remember getting that in the mail too! See I'm pretty sure UCLA does that on purpose to try and get worried freshman to buy sheets from them! lol I suggest going to any bedding store like Bed Bath and Beyond and finding your own sheets! All you have to look for are sheets that are TWIN XL and you'll be fine! I also definitely think you should look into getting one of those memory foam mattress toppers! The beds aren't bad or anything I just think having a mattress topper is amazing! As long as you get everything in a Twin XL size then you're good!

    Do freshmen generally tend to go in classic more than deluxe? Because Deluxe sounds preferable, but I'd want to go where most of the freshmen will be.

    • @Meelo
      @Meelo  8 років тому +1

      I tried to get into a deluxe (and so did a lot of other incoming freshman my year) but most of us got placed into classic residencies. Just think of it as UCLA trying to make you have more friends lol not too bad!

    Thank you so much for the video!!! Can't believe I'm seeing this now! Well I've got a question. Has anything about the housing at UCLA changed and which of them has a private or single room and private bathroom?

    • @Meelo
      @Meelo  8 років тому

      Hm prices can vary year to year but I don't think the room styles change. You can try to call the housing office and ask them directly!

    • @Meelo
      @Meelo  4 роки тому +2

      Hayley Sara’s Life thanks so much! You have a couple options actually! You can find somebody that you want to dorm with and request to share a room with them or you can give UCLA the choice. They have you fill out a little questionnaire and based on your answers they pair you with someone similar to you. Questions like: do you like having friends over late at night, do you drink, do you smoke etc

    Do you know if they prioritize my room type choices over my LLC choices?
    For context, I put singles at the top of my list, doubles next, and triples last. However, I also applied for the transfer LLC. I know the transfer LLC is only doubles and triples. Will this ruin my chance of getting a single? I would only like to be put in an LLC if singles are not available.

    so i'm an incoming freshmen and i got stuck with a triple suit @ saxon even though my first choice was a classic triple. Could you please tell me some pros and cons of living in a suit? And should i just try requesting for a change in housing? thank you

    • @Meelo
      @Meelo  8 років тому

      If you've visited recently you'll see that Saxon suites looks BEAUTIFUL now! It's relatively newly renovated so I don't think you should be too worried about being there. They have some type of outdoor patio deck/grill place and I remember it being super cool. Maybe you can just try being there for the first few days and see if you want to submit a form to change housing. Remember, there are people that probably got placed into classic triples that want to move also, so there's a chance you can be switched! But first look up when the change of housing forms are due!

      It's definitely not too difficult.....as long as you put the time in! If you stay motivated and concentrated you'll do fine! But getting classes is a bit difficult since there are so many student. Look into the regent scholarship because regent scholars get priority enrollment times!

    I am claustrophobic and I don't like having a small room ,so which dorm hall would you suggest for a freshman?plzz reply

    • @Meelo
      @Meelo  9 років тому

      Vianey Uresti If you absolutely don't like the idea of having a small room then DONT go with a triple in a residential hall because they are pretty cramped! However, I live in a double in Sproul Hall and it actually isn't too cramped at all! You can look up some of the dorm tours on youtube that show rooms like Rieber hall so you can get an idea of space! But I would suggest going for a Plaza or a Deluxe!

      Lemme see....if you plan on staying in the hill all the time I would say go for 19p. It gives you a lot of flexibility with swiping both yourself and friends/family in case you ever need it.
      But if you see yourself going home a lot then I would say 14p
