Ken!!! Thanks for your great reaction and here are two more amazing songs Angelina did !!! The first is her 2022 rendition of " My Funny Valentine" and the second is "Above the water" These are some of my favorite Angelina songs. Oh and a bonus is a song she wrote and arranged called "Shield" have fun bro. Ray
Angelina often gets criticized for her enunciation of the lyrics, but I am so glad you recognize how she plays with words as a stylistic thing. Her English pronunciation is perfect if she wants it, but I really love the way she plays with her vowels to make it unique. I recommend you react to her latest release, which is a cover of Adele's new song, Easy On Me. I think it's her best work, to date & I prefer her version over the original, it's that good!
I totally agree with both of you guys Mike and Keith. Her enunciation is so much a part of her style. Her intentional and occasional distortion of her diction is quite sophisticated, particularly coming from someone for whom English is a second language (or third... or fourth)! This playing with her English enunciation is something that was apparent even when she was quite young. Her immersion by listening to classic jazz vocalists began at such an early age for her. 💙👣
I've always loved how she's never really bothered much about words. She entered NGT singing songs she didn't really know all the words to. Who does that unless they're supremely confident in their sound? She's so unconcerned with enunciation that she could release a song consisting solely of vowel sound variations and I would buy it.
Agreed, Angelina doesn't sing with a detectable accent (as does another personal favorite, Aurora, whose vowels and some consonants have a definite European flavor). I find her vowel choices particularly interesting along with that initial H sound she uses to start words when she's going for a particularly breathy sound.
@@stevek7699 I 100% agree. Being from the same country, you'd think Aurora and Angelina would sound similar. I believe that Angelina has spent much more time in the US, as her family has owned property there for quite a while. Therefore, she's possibly lost a bunch of the "flavour" as you said. They're tied for first for favourite artists of mine.
Ken thanks for returning to react and analyze another performance by our barefoot angel, Angelina Jordan. I see your channel is doing very well, now with 176k subscribers. One suggestion for you. Would be awesome if you were to encourage your viewers to watch the original video and also to subscribed to the artists' UA-cam channel. All artists, especially young aspiring ones like Angelina, deserve all the support we can give them. Much love.
Thank you for a great reaction to this awesome performance by the Barefoot Angel. One word describes the musical talent and humanitarian characteristic of Angelina - PERFECTION.
You’ll definitely not get anyone better than Angelina that sings like this she’s amazing she’s the best no one can touch Angelina she’s the best Love 💕 from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴👼👸🏻👏👏🥰👋
It's hard to believe this song is now almost a year old. Of the 4 versions she has put out, this is still my favorite. I think the ending with her repeating "hope" three times is best.
Luckily she did NOT sign with Simon Cowell... !!! Proof that there are intelligent and loving parents behind her. Can't wait to see how she will continue blossoming to a very unique artist... (can it really get better??)
Her latest release with RR. Looks likes she is working now for a new release of an own new song or more. You are right, it's a fun to listen to her development and she learns very quick and her complementary grows fast. So RR had to release her new Album before its getting to old
Excellent review and interesting explanation about her enunciation. I’m always interested in the lyrics and though always sucked in, caught up and carried away by her performance, this is something I noticed as well. But you are right, it is a stylistic choice. She still has many other interesting performances to watch: I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll enjoy :-)
Angelina Jordan perform seventh heaven fantastically I think she’s a rising star is going to shine for a very long time to come! She knows how to paint a picture with your voice tell a story for an artist

Angelina is a true jazz singer and has adopted some of the nuance and inflections, she learned from Amy Winehouse and Billie Holiday. Amy actually redefined the genre of jazz with her unorthodox style and can be considered the most uniquely different jazz singer of all time. Angelina, blending in the breathy-ness of Billie Holiday along with what she got from Amy, has redefined the genre once more, replacing Amy as the reigning Queen Of Jazz.
Hi, Ken! Welcome back to Angelina for another grand reaction. Hope you stay with her a little longer this time. :-) I've trawled through your videos and notice that you have reacted to Diana Ankudinova's performance of Chris Isaac's "Wicked Game". Angelina performed this at the age of 13, and she has stripped it done to basic essentials. In my opinion - and I will admit to some bias in this case - she is the only singer I have found who really understood the emotions in the lyrics and is able to communicate to her listeners the feeling of utter despair. It is agonisingly beautiful. In the hope that you will consider reacting to the song, here is the link: age 13 - "Wicked Game" - ua-cam.com/video/5IAMF4FDfw4/v-deo.html
Great reaction. Where have you been? So much more to enjoy. Check out her performance of Feelin Good at 10 yrs old. You would really enjoy her Norways Got Talent performances. At 7 yrs old she sings "Im a Fool to Want You" a capella, the entire song!!!
I love the way that she sings this song, I’m not too sure about the song itself it seems OK for me at best. But I believe that it will grow on me. She is a wonderful vocalist and stylist, meaning vocal stylist. Like you said she has really developed her style it which is not something you said amongst singer is her age usually. She’s very interesting artist, enjoy more and more as I listen to her.
Yes, it will grow on you. Guaranteed! In keeping with her values, Angelina never writes meaningless phrases. Her thought process is very well-developed, and the matters of which she writes are those to which we can all relate.
NEWS!! - NEWS! Angelina Jordan has the opening soundtrack in a new movie; is a 2021 American romantic comedy film directed by Peter Hutchings. It is based on a novel by Sally Thorne. The film stars Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell.
lol Re her style of bending clarity of diction - so you're basically saying that you need to learn the rules before you go around breaking them so that, when you do break them, it works. :)
Hi Ken & thank you for your reaction to 15 yo Angie. Please ignore the trolls & fake fans. “7th Heaven” words written by Angelina Jordan, Composer Lyricist: Angelina Jordan Astar Composer Lyricist: Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, Composer Lyricist: Tor Erik Hermansen (Mikkel and Tor Erik are also the producers known as Stargate) & released 3-19-21 on a Friday. This genre is kind of jazz/soul/R&B/pop. Actually Angie made a new genre, her patented Jazzy/pop. Her Angie style. Angie wrote the words & Stargate produced this. Republic Records Co-Founder and C.E.O. Monte Lipman personally signed her to the label after he heard her song “Million Miles” back in the August of 2020 & ran after her & signed her. In a 3-18-21 interview with “WithGuitars” Angelina said “Life has ups and downs, and you always have to be ready for whatever is coming up. The song is a reminder to look at everything in a positive light and not get down on yourself. Most importantly-no matter what you’re doing-don’t give up. It’s also meant to make you dance.” She smiles. Angie also said, (“The initial idea for “7th Heaven” was that I love the number “7, and Heaven” is such a powerful word and makes you dream away,” she explained. “I collaborated with Stargate to create ‘7th Heaven.’ The background story of making this song was that I had this melody that I played for Tor and Mikkel and it turned out that they loved the idea and it went pretty smooth from there to the finish the song.”) Angie actually proves her genius again on the writing & why it's short. At the end most are craving more so you go back to listen to it again & again etc etc. Plus she ends that last word on Hope & on a high note for than you come down naturally or as most they just keep listing to the positive message. Pure story telling & word using genius & at 13-15 when she wrote this. Remember her musicality & music intelligence have always been off the charts. You can order on Spotify, Amazon, iTunes & Apple etc etc I hope you do. “I’m still holding out for you” by Baby Fuzz ua-cam.com/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/v-deo.html she’s 10 almost 11 (it was used as a demo. Up until now, he’s been in 4 of her video’s.)
Margate is one that produces the music for Republic records through dual dynamic Norwegian producers. First time they come to sing for her of them to come and they said 200 or two and Angelina comes in top the bottom one take
She seems to me to be searching for the most distinctive possible sound. Since settling in the US, that style certainly includes more "mushiness" than in her younger years or for my taste. But I have confidence she's going to eventually work this out. Needs to realize there singers from 50 years ago whose voices remain memorable and distinctive without sacrificing clear diction. Her voice could surely be one of those in the future.
She might distort her consonants and vowels because English is not her first language. She's Norwegian. When she was younger I herd this in her singing. As she gets older her English improves, thus she understands what she is singing.
Keep in mind she's not a native speaker of English (despite the perfectly-English sounding first&last name). But I wholly concur: as she has more than enough chops to conquer the world, honing her English to perfection for the purpose of delivering lyrics with clarity and impact is a must.
ANGELINA JORDAN, Christmas Concert, AN ONLINE SHOW, DECEMBER 23RD Live show from LA. MORE INFO COMING SOON! Check Angelinas official website,YT wont allow the link posted here sadly.
That's an odd comment! Especially when people constantly ask reactors to react to her when she was 6, 7 , 8 and 9 (10, 11..it goes on). It's all her catalog and those are 'old' pieces of her work.
Ugh. Yet another person blithely comparing her to Amy Winehouse. Let's get this straight, Amy Winehouse and Angelina both tapped into a retro feel. Angelina grew up on old Jazz and she loves that style. Amy Winehouse did a similar thing and both are acknowledged for their dabbling in those genres. I think most people jump to the Amy Winehouse thing because of the jazziness of Angelina's voice but also probably the long dark hair. That's where the similarities end. Amy Winehouse was nowhere near that caliber of Angelina.
Truth. Absolutely no offense intended to AW, who I liked as a singer and felt terrible for regarding all of the strife in her personal life. But I just 💜 Angelina.

The days of proper use of the english language is sadly went. It must be wierd for you with such perfect pronounciation to listen to singers not completing the words. Ive never been a huge fan of it, too many singers do it just to sound cool, but with Angelina it always works for me. Why not try something completely different from Angelina! Billie Holiday - Im a fool to want you (studio recording) Etta James - Id rather go blind or Ella Fitzgerald - Summertime (with the norwegian radio orchestra KORK) This is where she really shines 🌹
I think characterising her as simply an Any Winehouse clone sells her too low. About the future - she has a dedicated die hard fanbase which is growing steadily so I believe she should do well.
@@yves2932 The first comment dit NOT characterize her as a Amy Winehouse clone! It only says that there are strong similarities between them in youth, talent and love for old soul singing style. Angelina has obviously an immense talent, she BREATHE music! As did Amy Winehouse. And yes you're right, she will have a brilliant future in the music industry. It seems that good and strong people surround her, as her family does. Perhaps this will preserve her to not fall into drugs as Amy Winehouse did, and who died at age 27, completely destroyed by drugs and alcohol.
I’ve been watching Angelina Jordan since you one and a half years old you may not believe this but start singing age of 18 months to who speaking English perfectly on the Internet, telling who she likes she like Nina Simone she like Louis Armstrong Billie Holiday he went back to Betsy Smith was a blue singer many years ago and she also like Frank Sinatrashe loved Billie Holiday means the world to her so that’s that’s her if she wants to and Louis Armstrong and many other great jazz singers have been there for many years that’s what she picked. She love Jeff her grandmother is Iranian Port, artist, and psychologist.
I love you doing all the young talented singers, and I'd like to see your reaction to another who belongs in this category: Daneliya Tuleshova of Kazakhstan, like Dimash, the two of them good friends since Daneliya won The Voice Kids Ukraine at the age of ten in 2017 where her audition video of Stone Cold on youtube has over 72 million views. I'd like to suggest her cover of Take Me To Church as you've reacted to Hozier's version, and Daneliya's demonstrates how she makes every cover her own. She also has wonderful originals. Russian is her native tongue, but she sings in several languages though she like English the best. I think you'll be glad to ad her to your repertoire. ua-cam.com/video/r8AivyQduQE/v-deo.html
I'm sorry but timing of the pauses made no sense. Never heard it before so some of that is unavoidable but some are just obvious to avoid. The combo of that and not backing up a little after each to maintain the song's flow destroyed what could have been an interesting reaction. Just couldn't make it to the end on this one.
You CRACK ME UP, it's hard not to notice your ocd.. I mean, it really gets under your skin... No matter how you try to gloss it over, if the "i" isn't dotted or "t" crossed you visibly find it hard to endure... I thought you understood that almost all songs have some enunciation variations, unlike READING something when you would want it to be perfect... Try as you may, you can't hide it... The face changes, you mildly shudder and squirm in your bouncy chair... Thnx for trying to tolerate it, but I feel bad for you because it takes away from your overall reaction.. watch yourself on this reaction and you'll see what I mean.. but your efforts are duly noted! PEACE!
It was absolute 7th HEAVEN, she never disappoints.
She is amazing

I'd love to hear your reaction and opinions on Creep by Postmodern Jukebox with Haley Reinhart. I can never get enough of that song.
IRIS - GOO GOO DOLLS ( orchestra version ) by CakraKha channel.
Highly recommended coach
i think there will come a time when people will stop saying angelina sounds like amy whinehouse. they will say amy whinehouse sang like angelina.
The days of proper use of the english language is sadly went. It must be wierd for you with such perfect pronounciation to listen to singers not completing the words. Ive never been a huge fan of it, too many singers do it just to sound cool, but with Angelina it always works for me.
Why not try something completely different from Angelina!
Billie Holiday - Im a fool to want you (studio recording)
Etta James - Id rather go blind or
Ella Fitzgerald - Summertime (with the norwegian radio orchestra KORK)
This is where she really shines 🌹
It’s her song
amy winehouse in healthy. lets see how she is doing when she is 27
I think characterising her as simply an Any Winehouse clone sells her too low. About the future - she has a dedicated die hard fanbase which is growing steadily so I believe she should do well.

The first comment dit NOT characterize her as a Amy Winehouse clone!
Reincanation of Amy Winehouse ;-D
PEACE!
My honest opinion geezer is you have a hint of sarcasm in your voice when you speak about Ms Jordan..
What???
I dont get the Amy Winehouse comparison. This is NOTHING like Amy... I would call this 90% Angelina and 10% Christina Aguilera
Why laugh at the way Angelina pronounced words English is her second language Lao she speaks 5 :/
