Admittedly, I am not a listener of country music-I listen mostly to heavy metal. Neither am I from the South nor the Heartland where a lot of these ideals and lyrics are so closely-held-I'm from suburban New York. So obviously, I can't relate to a lot of the things in this song. But I am an Infantryman in the Army, and I heard one of my buddies playing this song. I found this video afterwards, and the lyric, "I wish everybody overseas was gonna make it home," followed by the crowd's raucous cheering nearly instantly made me tear up. I'm not deployed currently (yet) but I may be soon, and just knowing how much country artists and fans appreciate the servicemen and servicewomen humbles me in ways I can't really articulate. I just thought I'd come by and say thanks to Riley and all his fans for their love and support, God bless you all ✌️❤️🇺🇸
Sir I feel the same way about this song although other parts hit home for me it's a awesome song even for some of us city slickers and I wanted to also THANK YOU for your service and God Bless you on your journeys
bommie Thank you for your service. Without folks like you, our country could not function and I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. God bless America and bless you for your sacrifice. 🇺🇸
Best of luck down range brother. I was never into country music until I picked it up from a contractor at KAF in 2017, been mad about it since! Stay frosty out there, god bless you for your service, I know how tough it can be, but let your love of country and family help you in the best and worst of times!
It was weeks after this song was released before I heard it on the radio. KMLE country is where I first heard it. And same with a lot of other greats. It seems they have to get popular to go on the radio these days if it’s not a pop country artists. It should be the other way around

My grandpas best friend who is 77 told me about this song when we were talking a few weeks ago. He said there's a song that says, "I wish grandpas never died." My grandpa passed away in 2008 and him and his best friend had been friends since they were 13.
Love the channel. Been watching a very long time. My grandma has been gone for 8 years. He’s in a better place and he would be damn proud of you! Making an entire living off gta videos!
This song is uplifting and true country music. It bring me tears thinking of when my grandson comes running to me. He is only 2 and always wants to ride with me in my truck. I'm glad to be here for him. Once I get to be with the Lord, maybe God will allow me to watch over him.
This song made me very so hard because my grandpa had liver cancer and all of a sudden this weekend he go really bad and weighs less than me can’t talk and I can’t imagine life without out him and no one knows how long he has left. I most likely have less than 2 weeks and he is in the hospital and I regret not going in to see him one day even tho we were only there for 5 minutes. Make sure you NEVER take time for granted. Love you grandpa, I will miss you🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

@@jmit3491 yeah i get it but that doesn't bother me, they write and play classic country. No matter what walk of life you're from, if that's your kind of music i'll listen. That's how it is when you have a true talented music artist singing songs from the heart. The crowd feels the lyrics just as much as RG does when he performs. Sadly these types of artists are far and few these days
I’m a Canadian City boy from the Toronto suburbs. I’m never listened to country and for some reason, this song showed up on my UA-cam feed and it changed my life. Such a positive genre of music. I’ve felt so good since I discovered this kinda music. It’s so misrepresented. Keep doing your thing. I love it and I’m inspired to do good…however that may manifest. Peace and love forever 🇺🇸🇨🇦❤️

"I wish everybody overseas was gonna make it home" that hit home really hard. I lost a lot of buddies overseas. This song is the song of this country for me. Thank you so much for this. truly an amazing lyrical miracle. Amen.
